Why then do we not call a massaman curry (Thai dish, slightly sweet, spicy and warmed with cinnamon) a massaman coconut given that the main ingredient is coconut milk (by volume). It was simply a lazy shorthand way for the mass population to refer to a grouping of dishes that they knew nothing about. |
