Edited by: Smagd on 02/12/2006 20:48:32 Coalition of Carebear Killers (1 ship left, through a 100m ransom)
4. Dominix (Dog with Meat) -- Eos 2. Ishtar 5. Ishkur
WINNER: The Sani Sabik (3 ships left)
-- Dominix -- Eos -- Ishtar 3. Eris 1. Maulus
Both Ishtars are primary, but the first ship to go down is the Maulus. In return the CCK Ishtar goes down first. While CCK is still trying to get the Sabik Ishtar into structure their Dominix is now primary. Unable to break the Ishtar now, fire shifts to the Eris which could have been killing drones like a maniac. Lots of NOS and drones still flying around, and the Eris goes down to 5% hull and armor repping up to 20% again, but then gets alphad. CCK Dominix down. Their Eos and Ishkur are trying to kill the Sani Doninix now, but they couldn't break the Ishtar tank either and there's still an Eos left.
The Sani Sabik then ransomed the CCK Eos for 100M, who paid up and kept their Eos.
Edit: Oh, and that was the last match of today. See you again tomorrow. --

Originally by: Smagd Focus fire was kept on the Curse, but not breaking any tank. Primordial didn't focus fire at first, then took down a hard shield tank Drake and an Ishkur in the same instant. Turned around the match at this moment and killed the Astarte almost easily, probably with NOSsing from the Curse. The Vexor did go into shield, attempt to switch primary by Axiom but unsuccessful.
That's "prime orbital", not "primordial", and Axiom wasn't in the fight.

The curse got into structure because it got webbed and we didnt notice till it started dropping hard.
We did focus fire on the Drake straight away but his tank kept up till he fell to the effects of the curse.

Yeah It was a great fight, have to admit I was a weee bit worried there for a second until my tank came around. I see now that curses are generally hated and called primary :0

The first match has people biting their fingernails already:
WINNER Firmus Ixion (20% hull left on one ship)
-- Dominix 7. Absolution 5. Zealot 2. Thrasher 3. Thrasher
Insurgency (0 ships left)
6. Machariel 9. Nighthawk 8. Ishtar 4. Republic Fleet Firetail 1. Vigil
Too bad two interesting small ship support teams get wasted just as quickly as in any other fight. Support can't really help with an alpha-strike like what hit the Vigil in the very first salvo. FIX tries to kill the Ishtar, but runs into problems breaking its armor tank and goes for the Mach instead slowly chewing through its armor tank what with it probably using a high transversal. Meanwhile their own Ishtar dies. Absolution next primary down to 50% AR by the time the Mach hits structure, but the Mach dies a minute before the Absolution. Dominix manages to rather quickly kill the Ishtar considering it's solo now while going down itself very slowly, but the Nighthawk is out of CAP, so nothing left to suck and a Nighthawk's passive shield tank keeps it alive while killing the Dominix. The Dominix is trying to survive by going out of range and maybe win by time while its drones slowly grief their way through the Nighthawk shield. No Damage Control on either, and the Nighthawk dies at Domininx 20% hull.
Good fight! --

6. Raven 2. Celestis 1. Celestis 4. Celestis 5. Flycatcher
WINNER The Corporation Alliance (5 ships left)
-- Abbadon -- Absolution -- Curse (camera lost lock on it a couple times) -- Maulus -- Maulus
Interestingly, the two big Corp ships seemed to be able to lock on two Celestis before getting dampened. One gets insta-ganked, maybe after getting in range the second just the same while keeping alive their own primary Maulus maybe by better dampening or by support. After this, The Corp can afford to primary the Raven next. While chewing on that both the remaining Celestis and Flycatcher go down: It's a flawless victory. --

-- Malestrom -- Sleipnir -- Huginn 3. Maulus -- Maulus
Lotka Voltera (0 ships left) 4. Abbadon (lag warpout + DISQ) 6. Damnation 5. Deimos 1. Maulus 2. Maulus
Abbadon vs. Maelstrom. The Huginn helps the LV Mauluses going down first while the Fimbulwinter Mauluses orbit their own large ships for remote shield support. Deimos is next primary, but has nice remote armor support. Apparently the Abbadon is a NOS setup and the Maelstrom an AC setup so they're going to meet in the middle. The Huginn keeps the NOS Abbadon webbed and at range, but how to lay down the damage on that Deimos? LV is now trying to break the Sleipnir. Tragic Abbadon lag-out + /heal 0 by LeMonde. Now the Maelstrom + Sleipnir are going in for AC carnage and rip through the Deimos, and lay down some impressive carnage. Pity about the Abbadon, and the Damnation is, well, damned itself after that. --

6. Damnation 5. Navy Vexor 4. Navy Vexor 1. Navy Vexor 3. Navy Vexor
WINNER Stain Empire (4 ships left)
-- Abbadon -- Eos -- Guardian 2. Maulus -- Maulus
Vexor and Maulus are primary. Guardian cap transfers the Abbadon while being primaried through its shield, but its armor is holding. Everything kept alive by remote support so far. Teams probing for mutual holes. Stain slaughtering Vexor drones. The original primary Vexor is being primaried once more. Abbadon now in NOS range, and puts a NOS on everything. Apparently it got bumped up to speed by its Eos. The Vexors are being shot down now one after the other while their Guardian keeps alive their Mauluses as best as it can. Third Vexor getting NOSsed and fired on as hard as Stain can. Their own Guardian is primary again, but it's able to pull back easily. With all the NOS and support modules Stain has just their Eos for firepower, so it takes them a while to kill the Vexors and Damnation, but one after the other they go down with no CAP left. --

6. Navy Megathron 5. Eos 3. Muninn 2. Maulus 1. Maulus
WINNER Serenus Letum (4 ships left)
4. Raven -- Nighthawk -- Curse -- Vigil -- Maulus
Sani charging in for short range. Muninn artilleries the Maulus and Curse, but is primary itself. But first blood goes to Serenus, maybe taking advance of the charge killing two Maulus quickly, and also chewing through the Muninns armor inspite of it being supported. Meanwhile, Sani has shifted fire on the Raven and gets it into armor. Muninn is holoding on, but Serenus has shifted to the Eos taking it into armor while still killing the Muninn. But the Raven is the first Serenus facality, and the two Sani core ships are still there. Eos has its armor repaired, and seems to be saving cap for more blaster fire. Eos going down again and they seem to be trying to kill the Nighthawk. Navy Megathron against the four smaller Serenus ships. Another ransom attempt by Serenus for 200m for the Navy Megathron, but Sani's CPT ELMY counters this with words that would get censored here. When the Mega is down to 30% hull the ransom offer is repeated, and accepted, but drones and missiles finish the Megathron before being called back. --

WINNER The Five (3 ships left)
-- Navy Megathron -- Eos -- Deimos 3. Thrasher
Veritas Immortalis (0 ships left)
5. Rokh 6. Nighthawk 4. Cerberus 1. Merlin 2. Merlin
First showing of both The Five and a Rokh, which looks like is set up as a NOS ship, but so's the Navy Megathron. The Deimos is being primaried. The Merlins are going down while Veritas is changing over to the Thrasher, unable to dent the Deimos tank. After the Trasher and Mauluses die, it's three Caldari shield tankers vs. three Gallente armor tankers with NOS going back and forth. Let's see who breaks first. Cerberus now in 50% shield with the Deimos still in 90% armor. Veritas now trying to shift fire on the Navy Megathron, which goes through its shield predictably quickly. Cerberus is down, now let's see how well the shield tank on the Rokh works. Eos now stripped of its shield, Veritas trying to see if that's breakable, and The Five are trying to see the same about the Rokh which is holding nicely as long as enough Cap is still around. Rokh dips to 20% shield, and the Eos was below 80% armor briefly, but Cap is still holding. What happens now is that The Five is all in optimal and dishing out more damage than the Rokh can repair. Rokh is going down, so its Cap ran out first. Watch the Tier 3 explosion! Nice footage of a black Megathron looming over a webbed, nossed, missiles-spamming, explosions-receiving black Nighthawk, but it's going down before the match times out. --

There was an insane amount of dampeners fielded, we got only sporadic locks throughout the fight despite joint efforts to get our ships a lock one at a time to be able to unleash our mostly idle drones. Good cycling there by the SE team.
We took a huge gamble here, the chief strategist wanted to see if his smashing success from the first match could hold once the element of surprise was gone and it was deemed SE would think us stupid for fielding the same exact fitting, as predicted they were right and we had nothing on the mass dampening and nosferatu going on.
Us holding on for what was it 10 minutes? Without doing much damage at all and being nossed across the board I can't really say I'm dissappointed about the outcome, given we took a huge gamble. We had a solid strategy just more of a tank than a dampener fleet.
I feel very confident with my men today, we were as calm as can be and did the best of the mismatch.

Next match:
Ascendant Frontier (4 ships left)
-- Hyperion -- Eos -- Zealot -- Navy Comet 1. Navy Hookbill
WINNER Exquisite Malevolance (5 ships left, 28 points to 26)
-- Raven -- Absolution -- Huginn -- Cormorant -- Navy Hookbill
Hyperion gets webbed immediately. Both Hookbills primary, but the ASCN one goes down in spite of some support. More fire incoming to their Comet and Zealot, while the Malevolent Hookbill is still around 50% shield. Comet now in 50% armor, and the hookbill is still very slowly inching towards armor, but the Comet is saved by support. There's some drone killing going on. Raven shooting Cruise Missiles from a distance. Huginn orbitting its Raven, and the damage is slow now. 10 more minutes for the fight to end. Malevolence is keeping Ascendant out of NOS range, so there will not be any Cap dying. Zealot is using its NOS on its Hyperion to keep its Cap alive. Malevolence tries to kill the Eos next, stripping it of shields and 30% armor before Ascendant changes their support, but Ascendant doesn't seem to do enough damage at this range. 5 minutes left. Cormorant is taking damage next, but it's being supported and saved from 50% armor once. Can Ascendant alpha it? Apparently not. And Malevolence changes to the Zealot again in hopes of catching it with its Cap down, but it's not going down. Well, that didn't work on either side. So it's a time-out, and a victory by 2 points --

RAZOR Alliance (0 ships left)
5. Dominix 4. Sleipnir 1. Curse (Disqualified, out of range) 2. Sabre 3. Daredevil
WINNER Star Fraction (5 ships left) -- Eos -- Curse -- Navy Vexor -- Ishkur -- Ishkur
Sabre primary, but the RAZOR Curse leaves the Arena and dies before it. The Star Fraction takes heavy fire on its Curse, but is armor tanking nicely with some support. Next RAZOR primary is the Daredevil. The Dominix is a Nano setup going at wild speeds. Sleipnir is losing its shield now, 50%, while the Star Fraction Curse still has its full armor in spite of all the drones around it - half of those must be shooting up the other half, since it's only 10 drones on the remaining ships. Apparently the Sleipnir was Nano setup, too: Its hull went in one blast. Dominix got into NOS range and that's going to kill it in spite of running away from the drones and missiles, outtracking the guns. It's trying to kill the Navy Vexor now, 80% armor, but that's not going to happen before it blows. Since the Dominix didn't go through its hull quite as quickly, it's reasonable to assume it's got Inertia Stabs, which got recently boosted, since Nanofiber internal structures have a hull penalty. --

WINNER Axiom Empire (5 ships left all with 100% tank)
-- Caldari Navy Raven -- Vulture -- Cerberus -- Merlin -- Merlin
DeStInY (0 ships left)
5. Dominix 3. Absolution 4. Drake 1. Rifter 2. Maulus (CTD)
The DeStInY dominix is primary, while they're probing the Maulus and Cerberus shield tanks. Small damage till the second Merlin is called primary. Meanwhile the Rifter is taking damage while the Dominix keeps its armor tank together. Rifter and Maulus killed at the same time, the Maulus by Crash. Vulture is shield repping the smaller ships. Merlin is shooting the Dominix drones down. Axiom changes fire to the Absolution, which goes into armor quickly. Meanwhile both Cerberus and Vulture are taking minor shield damage, but the Absolution is down. Drake is primary now. It's got a nice shield tank, but Axiom has nice damage. And it's using a smartbomb to kill Axiom drones, probably over a massive passive shield tank - Drakes are a favorite primary.
Nice flawless victory for the all-shield tanking all Caldari team!

Enemies of Carlotta (1 ship left)
3. Dominix -- Nighthawk 4. Drake 2. Caldari Navy Hookbill 1. Caldari Navy Hookbill
WINNER Prime Orbital System (3 ships left)
-- Caldari Navy Raven -- Vulture -- Drake 3. Vigil
A Hookbill and both Drakes are taking primary fire, while the Vigil is doing a mad high orbit target painting strafing to the primary Hookbills. Enemies primaries the Vigil while its other Hookbill is coming under fire and dies a little before the Vigil. That clears the frigs. The Drakes are receiving some remote shield transfer, so they're not easy to break. Prime Orbital takes the Dominix through its shields slowly, with probably more remote support going on. They're not taking a lot of damage themselves. The Raven does hurt the Dominix badly with 4x Emp Cruise Missiles and 2 Explosives. More smartbombs on the Dominix, but its hull is burning now. Dominix now armor reps, seems it wasn't in control for a while. 30% hull but over 50% armor and repping. They're still not doing enough damage on the Prime Orbital Drake. Dominix finally explodes, and its Drake wing mate is next primary. Takes a while to take down in spite of apparently running a passive shield tank. Prime Orbital are using a NOS on their own passive tank Drake to transfer shield back to it. Interesting tactic. Enemies Drake is finally down, and the Nighthawk is their last ship. 3 more minutes for the match, so it may survive. The Nighthawk is now looting wrecks in hopes of surviving, and maybe a cap booster charge or two for longer survival. --

-- Imperial Issue Apocalypse -- Absolution 3. Curse 1. Maulus 2. Maulus
Mercenary Coalition (0 ships left)
7. Caldari Navy Raven 5. Eos 4. Curse 6. Maulus 8. Maulus
MC is stripping both Mauluses and the Curse at the same time, while its own Curse is taking some damage. Both Mauluses go down first. Impoc is taking some shield damage, but both Curses live for the time and IAC is shooting the Eos. A lot of damage going down on IAC, and their Curse dies, shortly followed by their own Curse. The IAC Absolution is now getting stripped of shields, but for a Damage team like the MC it takes them a long time to go through the shields of two armor tankers. Eos is now in armor, but so is the Impoc. They're both at 70% armor, but the Eos is going down quickly with all the Impoc NOSes on it while the Impoc still repairs. That's the Mercenary Coalition going down. IAC ignores the Mauluses and their Raven is taking huge damage, but it's MWDing out of range now. The Raven seems to be armor tank. They really like their surprises, but it does have nice resists against lasers. Both IAC ships are now back in full armor, and the two MC Mauluses are slowing going down. --

Xelas Alliance (2 ships left)
-- Abbadon -- Absolution 2. Vexor 1. Hawk
Maulus and Hawk are primaries. Red Skull is splashing damage over the Vexor and the Absolution now, probing for leaks while its Guardian keeps its Maulus alive. The Hawk disappears in one blast. In spite of support the Vexor follows shortly after, and the Absolution comes down next, but it's not yet in armor when Red Sull switches to the Xelas Abbadon and takes it into armor. Again lots of Nos going back and forth, including drones. Xelas is now trying to Nos the Guardian dry, and while their armor tanks are holding up they've got the two Mauluses and Guardians both in high armor. Nothing much happening - it's web of Nos and transfer. 7 more minutes for the match. The Xelas Abbadon is very very slowly losing armor. 3 minutes left. 80% hull left and match is over. --

3. Dominix 4. Curse 1. Guardian 2. Exequror
WINNER Band of Brothers (5 ships left)
-- Eos -- Curse -- Oneiros -- Celestis -- Hookbill
The Exequror has interesting bonuses, hmm. But BoB concentrates fire on the Guardian first, taking it into 60% armor. The Exequror takes some shield damage. Guardian goes down hard and is gone. Anarchy meanwhile has taken the BoB Eos into armor, but the Exequror goes next. Massive damage from BoB, now targetting the Dominix. The Eos isn't losing any armor fast, but the Dominix still has enough Cap to tank armor okay. It's taking NOSsing from the BoB Curse now, and armor drops. Last shots fired at the Celestis, but their last Curse is going to go down fast and the BoB team never loses much armor. --

Exuro Mortis (0 ships left)
3. Dominix 5. Eos 4. Oneiros 1. Maulus 2. Maulus
Vexor taking primary damage, and one of each Mauluses. At the same time Euphoria strip both the Eos and the Oneiros of their shields. The Flycatcher seems to be killing drones, but is in armor damage itself now. 7 out of 10 ships with no shield, but for a minute or two no armor really drops. Must be mutual attemps to outfox support. All ships piled up in the middle. Exuro is losing a Maulus .. first blood after 3 or 4 minutes. Must still be a lot of drone warfare. Let's see who runs out of drones first. The Exuro Dominix and Maulus both are losing armor . Their Maulus goes first, but apparently the Oneiros isn't helping the Dominix. Eos is remote armor repping the Dominix using its NOS to steal Cap, but the Exuro Dominix is in fact dead. Oneiros down shortly after, and now it's five ships concentrating fire on the Eos.

Coalition of Carebear Killers (0 ships left)
3. Dominix 1. Myrmidon 2. Ishtar 4. Ishkur
AAA Ishtar is primary, its shield down fast. The Carebear Killers take damage on their Myrmidon in turn. Both going through their armor at about the same rate, sitting in another web of drones and NOS, but the Ishtar pulls back probably backed by support. Carebear Killers switch to the Mauluses while their pretty Myrmidon is burning down. AAA Dominix now also taking fire, went into armor. The Carebear Ishtar is secondary target for AAA, once again going down faster than their own Dominix, and there it blows. Carebear Dominix now going down and there's no more significant damage on AAA. Pretty lights when the camera goes through a NOS beam. Dominix is down and the Ishkur now has to solo 5 AAA ships, well, it isn't doing that in spite of pretty awesome tank and flying in spite of about 8 NOS on it - suspected Halo implant set to reduce its signature. AAA may also be looting or something.
