Well remote sensor dampening is allowed for the first time, so it's a good tactic to fill up your last few slots with these.
Fimbulwinter (0 ships left, ahw man)
2. Maelstrom 6. Claymore (was primary twice, tanked everything) 4. Drake 5. Rifter
WINNER: Morsus Mihi (3 ships left)
-- CNR 3. Vulture 1. Curse (people really, really hate these: Primary again) -- Vigil -- Vigil
Interesting: Both teams picked big targets first. Fimbulwinter took out the always favorite Curse, but then Morsus found a hole in the Malestrom shield and popped it very likely with the help of two target painter vigils, after that the Drake put up a good fight and in fact lasted past the Vulture, but in the end that didn't help for long. Didn't look like much repping was going on, and not much NOSsing since the Curse never lived long enough for much of it. --

1. CNR 4. Nighthawk 3. Curse 5. Hookbill 2. Hookbill
WINNER: Stain Empire (5 ships left)
-- Abbadon -- Eos -- Guardian -- Maulus -- Maulus
The CNR went down remarkably quick to a heavy NOS Abaddon backed by a Guardian that just never got called primary until it was too late. --

Edited by: Smagd on 02/12/2006 16:30:56 WINNER Sani Khal'Venca (3 ships left)
-- Scorpion -- Eos 1. Curse (Primary, racing to poppage with the Brutix) -- Claw
SMASH Alliance (0 ships left)
2. Brutix (Primary, racing to poppage with the Curse) 3. Brutix 4. Cyclone 5. Cyclone
Both teams using lots of remote support. Nice race to the graveyard Curse vs. Brutix, and the Curse arrives a mere 4 seconds earlier. The Brutices really take a beating in spite of their fabulous mutual remote repping. Of course only two Cyclones don't do too much support to each other, so the rest of the card house fell in quickly after that (although I've got a suspicion Sani kept the last Cyclone alive till the Claw was done looting). --

WINNER: Exquisite Malevolance (2 ships left)
-- Dominix -- Nighthawk 3. Curse 0.+1. Flycatcher (premature fire accident) 2. Merlin
Star Fraction (0 ships left) 5. Eos 4. Curse 6. Ishkur 7. Ishkur 8. Ishkur
The Star Fraction started early into the fight and popped the Flycatcher before time. Seems there's still some problems on how to best fire off a fight. Anyway, Lemonde reimbursed the Flycatcher and the fight was redone. Flycatcher down again first, then Merlin, then the stream. IRC reporters relayed that next the two Curses went, then in a reversal Malevolence took down the Eos and one after the other all three Ishkurs.

The ecm burst went and we thought that was the signal for the fight to start, we stopped shooting as soon as LeMonde asked us to, but star fraction didnt see the command to cease fire and continued until my ship was destroyed. When the match was restarted there was very bad lag for both teams.
Thanks for the Good fight Star Fraction.

WINNER Axiom Empire (2 ships left)
-- CNR -- Vulture 4. Cerberus 1. Maulus 3. Maulus
Edge of Sanity (0 ships left)
7. Megathron 6. Curse 5. Muninn 2. Jaguar
Weird little match: Early frig kills are normal, but Axiom then got ALL leftover ships into armor one after the other, then focused on the Megathron till it was in 10% hull, then wiped up the other ships really, really slowly with just CNR and NIghthawk left. I can explain the first roundhouse by testing resists and some of the delays by switching ammo, but were they really trying to loot in a Raven and a Vulture? --

Edited by: Smagd on 02/12/2006 18:45:48 DeStInY (5 ships lost)
3. Astarte 2. Drake 4. Ishkur 5. Ishkur 1. Ishkur
WINNER: Prime Orbital Systems (0 ships left) -- Dominix -- Curse -- Ishtar -- Navy Vexor
The Prime Curse went into Armor at the first shot, went into 30% structure with loads of drones shooting it, but remote support from the Dominix saved it. I've also got a feeling like half the drones were shooting the other half.
Focus fire was kept on the Curse, but not breaking any tank. Primordial didn't focus fire at first, then took down a hard shield tank Drake and an Ishkur in the same instant. Turned around the match at this moment and killed the Astarte almost easily, probably with NOSsing from the Curse. The Vexor did go into shield, attempt to switch primary by Axiom but unsuccessful.
Nice match! --

Edited by: Smagd on 02/12/2006 19:51:01 NEWS: Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate dropped a standard medium can during the match, which is a rules infringement, so in spite of a point win Lemonde declares Terra Incognita WINNERs.
Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate (2 ships left, 19 points)
-- Imperial Issue Apocalypse -- Absolution 3. Curse 1. Maulus 2. Maulus
WINNER: Terra Incognita (3 ships left, 15 points)
4. Curse -- Navy Caracal -- Navy Caracal -- Navy Caracal 5. Celestis
The Impoc ran into the middle of Terra to get into NOS range. Both IAC Maulus went down fast. IAC wasn't focus firing yet, while its Curse down fast. Absolution took damage, but the Terra Curse went down fast now. First shots on the Impoc, but neither IAC ships are taking much damage considering they're probably armor tanks.
So Terra tried to go for a time-out while pointwise in the lead. With 8 minutes left, they scattered and tried to get out of range while still hurting the Absolution. The Impoc must remote repair the Absolution, which did in the end sacrifice some armor to chase down the Celestis and kill it outside IMPOC repper range.
After that, situation reversed: IAC can go for timeout while in the lead, and Terra must kill the Absolution, which went down to 20% armor while all three Navy Caracals held range at 100% shield, but with only 2 minutes left on the clock they didn't manage to do that.
Didn't want to edit, but dammit, bringing 5 cruisers, only one T2 to a match against the Impoc is nuts. Rockage, guys. --

Xelas Alliance (0 ships left)
5. Damnation 3. Prophecy 2. Ferox 1. Maller

If you look at the points of that group you can see that IAC won. So it's a typo I would say.

Anarchy Empire (0 ships left)
1. Brutix 4. Cyclone 3. Prophecy 2. Prophecy
WINNER: Cult of War (4 ships left)
-- Brutix -- Brutix -- Prophecy -- Prophecy
Chance? Or arranged? Anyway, both teams field 4 T1 battlecruisers. Lots of NOS, lots of drones. Seems Cult brought more NOS and ate up the Anarchy Brutix fast. Anarchy Cyclone flies away for Arty range, so no remote repping there. Cult stays in tight group for mutual support and NOSsing. All Cult ships have shield damage now, but both Brutix and Prophecy are armor tanks.

-- Dominix -- Eos -- Ishtar -- Maulus 2. Maulus
Dusk and Dawn (0 ships left)
5. Eos 1. Hurricane 3. Curse 4. Ashimmu
Remote repping the Mauluses saves them. Smartbombs on the D2 team again against the drones and Mauluses take one Maulus, but a Dominix has lots of drones. Hurricane is primary, and down first. Then Curse and Ashimmu in short order. The Eos was still smartbombing late in the match: good CAP there in spite of all the Nosdominixing, but alone it had to die. --
