It's ok, I guess we can give you some tips being you're obviously new to combat. :)
All nos setups can work and can be effective but don't hold your breath. Nos is not DPS and all your DPS goes to your drones. I'm sure you fit all heavies which means it's easier to destroy your DPS. Once your DPS is gone, then you're stuck with just NOS. Nos is not damage and it's useless in some cases where cap injectors are used.
Sensor damps are long range EW. However, they can be effective in damping targets locking range very short. The thing is, if you're using damps close range then you give them the advantage of GETTING in the range to lock. Simple logic right?
The setup quoted in the original topic is a prime example of a pilot who doesn't know what to fit but instead mimics other pilots who do not know how to fit. So the topic is really void.
Try more setups. Nos is a good module to fit and can be very effective in combat. All nos setups are very effective in squad combat too but blasters are too good to passup on this ship. Also, take my advice if you're going to use damps. Then use rails, 20k warp disruptor, and drones. Don't worrie about nos and keep your range out of the targets range. In a sense like all matarships. Kite the target...

*sigh* I'm not new, tiny. This is a fit suggested by a corpmate that he demonstrated on a Domi (bigger nos, still 3x damps, same drones and same drone bonus, no guns). It's frightening. And it's not MY fit, damnit. I fly a Hurricane, thank you very much. As for the damps, with the right skills, this can take down the average BS's lock range from whatever it is to under scram range. With best named damps:
80 x .4 = 32km 32 * .6 (assuming the second is 60% effective due to stacking penalty, dunno the real number) = 19.2km (already under scram range)
And so on. The third one is just icing on the cake. Sure, you MIGHT be locked if you get too close, but just float out from nos range to scram range and then back in for another 3 minutes of free shooting. Rinse and repeat.
I'm just throwing out the fit I was told, I don't use it, I don't use Gallente ships, and I'm not new to PvP. Bunch a rude bastards...
You are saying the Myrm is totally unbalanced, you aren't just throwing info out.
The diff between this setup on a Domi and on a Myrm is the fact that nos works out to 25km with diminishing, plenty of room to orbit outside of target range with the damps, but inside nos/scram range. That being said think about how much piloting is being done there which does not involve skillpoints, taking away part of your UNBALANCED! argument IMO.
Now on the Myrm nosf range with dimin will probably not be above a BS's locking range, meaning you can be locked. And many BS fly with sensor boosters as well. Also the Domi has multiple waves of heavy drones because of its huge dronebay, Myrm pilots have only 5 Heavies if thats what they choose to bring.
Also, I dont like how all you forum warriors base every ship's balance in purely 1v1 situations, when the majority of pvp happens in a gang. It's just not right. ---------------------
