Originally by: Sensor Error When I like to think of what is a griefer, I think of the following.
PvP is like stealing your ore can. It sucks to have your ore stollen, but hey, tough do-do. Griefing is like blowing up your ore can and warping off laughing your ass off.
The destinction is Griefing gives no real gain to the player, and is done purely to antagonise (sp?) the victim.
A perfect example of this is zombie with the yulai incident. (Before support ship flagging was introduced, a corp called zombie strapped up a bs with lots of smart bombs. They then geared up a lot of other bs with remote shield/ cap transfer stuff and sat near a gate in yulai, killing well. Lots of stuff)

Sure hoss that's why they put agents in the game for the sole purpose of tracking people down. you think they put these in so we could track you down and hug you?
No there ingame to track people down, but i'd think there for tracking war targets, people with bounties, not people who see the game diffrently to another player or someone you had a disagreement with on the forums.
If they were in there to track war target, people with bounties, and people whom you have killrights on, then the agent would tell you "Sorry, but the character you are looking for is outside my scope of influence" - since the agent can happily tell you where anyone is, then it is my assumption that said agent doesn't much care what you do with the person you are looking for. -----

And are still remembered today, long after the corp collapsed. Is that not a gain to the player?
Between corps atm, the NPC one is strictly a temporary thing. RAWR!111 Sig Hijackz0r!!11 - Immy |

warping into someones mission to either a) Kill them and get their loot b) Kill their spawn and get their loot gives a definite gain for the player.
warping into the mission to just kill the boss and steal the key component, which is a specific item, and has not monetary value or purpose for that player, is griefing.
Please give us keys to specific loot.

Originally by: Lord Draylon Wow, never thought ppl would be so shortsighted.
Players that want to take on missions and earn their prize at the end should not have to deal with a griefer who swoops in and kills the npc boss (steals the loot) as the mission owner is busy taking care of other mission npcs.
Anyone who thinks this is legit is completely warped.
Indeed, but it is typical for all the pathetic empire wannabe-pirates and exploiters whose idea of a challenge is to destroy the gaming experience for 5 days old players and who get whacked and die like flies every time they enter 0.0 ...
I think CCP is going to fix this in the next patch, we'll see.
