Yeah, where are the sun models/effects gone? It was so beautifull and simply awesome...

Actually, it was one of the things that got me started on playing EVE, when my friend showed his Thorax warping onto a sun...
I can guess why it was removed though, ive heard some people complain about it lagging them to hell... But the solution to that would be just making it as an option we can choose in our eve settings. Plz let us have it back!null

I think they've been nerved into oblivion because they've been only fluff, costing some fps.

Surely thats only if you warp to them and thus see the suns effect, and if not than why don't they nerf all the colourful deadspace effects than.

My guess would be that the intensity of the sun was messing with the seamless map more than anything else.
But thats just an uneducated guess. |

Oh gods... The Deadspace shineyness sends me blind... I can barely see anything going on.
At least with the Sun I could still see things when I panned my camera around

this is really sad news, i used to hang around suns sometimes when chatting or just chilling out. They were so beautiful, now its just a small lightbulb not worth flying to.

What happened to the supposed graphical update?
Maybe they should just replace with a 2-D picture of a sun badly drawn by a dev's kid...

yeah remove the seamless map, it does no good apart from cutting down the fps in larger battles and give us back the nice sun ...
and dont "improve" things that no one had a problem with !

Seriously, though. The effects pre-revelations were good. I remember being a little bit scared (in a video game, no less) to warp to a star.
