I have trained for 3 days and today the day came where i could fit my setup. I fitted my raven and decided to do some high sec pirazy. I found a ice system and began looking at the belts. First i found this person called Mollyanna in a mining ship. I flew over to the can. On my way over there i saw here warping away. When i reached the can i swaped it. She came back in a Mammoth and at that time another person wapred in. I thought the other person was a alt or something so i popped the can. I thne found out it was a Shuttle. sily me. The Mammoth targeted my and began shooting at me (clever thing ehh?) I then hit the wapr scrample, webber and Nos and orbited her at 500m. My first comfirmed kill (and on a 2 months old char). Next kill was and Imicus. I told the person that i had a module i didn't need and that he could have it. I jetted it and ther person took it. now i had agro. Same procedure as last time. Scrample, web, nos and kill. 2nd confirmed kill. Next kill was made with the same procedure. Here's the killmails: 2006.12.03 14:23 Victim: Mollyanna Alliance: NONE Corp: Pator Tech School Destroyed: Mammoth System: -CENSORED- Security: 0.8 Involved parties: Name: Alexis Godwill (laid the final blow) Security: 0.0 Alliance: NONE Corp: Republic Military School Ship: Rifter Weapon: 200mm AutoCannon I Destroyed items: Residual Survey Scanner I Mark I Modified SS Expanded Cargo Medium Modal Pulse Laser I Microwave S Small Tractor Beam I

IBTL = I beat the lock. A mod locks a thread when the poster doesn't hold himself to the rules in a channel. For example, you can not post killmails with character names on the forum. Something which the OP just did.

Im new to the pirate way of life, only 1 solo kill in .2 space against a tec 1 hauler *flexes lol*, but this "high sec pirating" seems kinda lame IMO. If I see a mining OP in low sec ofcourse ill try to hit them, but if they are in low sec they "should" be ready for combat. I picture the miners in high sec with mining drones, tech 1 drones, crusiers with mining lasers and such. Is high sec pirating really worth braggin about? or did i just sit my standards to high?

The only thing more hilarious than the fact that you're proud about killing 3 noobs in a frig and 2 haulers, is that you find the need to post about it.
To give them a handicap for the noob factor you should be in a t1 cruiser taking out their HAC's and command ships... sheesh

I dunno man, it's allowed of course, but tricking someone into aggro like that just seems... cheap.
The universe is big enough for all kinds, but the fact that you feel proud for doing something like that is a bit sad.
That's the kind of thing that makes people just log off with a bad feeling about their fellow human beings. Yes, its a part of the game, but it's still kinda low.

Hmm, ive been pirating only a few days and made my first kill on day 2 in low-sec. Im not sure if i find this type of piracy respectable
Killing in high sec in a Raven (!), i dont know. I moved into low sec the minute i wanted to kill someone. It seems to me (but thats purely my opinion) that that is the first place to go pirating - 0.0 after that. But i guess pirates come in all shapes n sizes - trickery falls into that category as well.

You said Raven in the first part of the post but a Rifter appears on the killmails.
Start going after the cruisers. Cruiser vs frigate - even a mining cruiser, is not that easy to do but very rewarding when you win. Start thinking of how to kill those barges with light drones too. Most will attack a frig with light drones but won't attack a cruiser or above - it would be suicide for them.

Nice to see people still get upset when they read something like this. Is this really lame and bending the rules? Naah, its just using the knowledge that there are people not paying attention and think they are safe in high sec space.
People like Alexis put high sec residents on their qui vive again. EvE is a harsh unfair place to live in, get used to it and you'll be fine. Alexis will eventually run into someone that will get him a nice wardec. or otherwise give him some trouble. Nothing bad about it, nothing good about it. Just deal with it.

I dont mind attacking anyone, miners included in low sec. Personally I'm of the opinion that if you go there you're a target (myself included). However tricking ppl in high sec and killing them is petty imo and then posting it on the forum.....

it's a bit lame tbh but as long as u enjoyed it that's all that matters. if something is allowed by ccp and u like doing it then never let anyone in this game tell u u shouldn't do it, because u should.
pvp'ers have to start somewhere. next challenge should be taking that thing into low sec and killing some ratters in frigs destroyers and cruisers if u feel brave. rifter is an awesome solo pirating frig so stick with it until ur ready for something bigger.

Actually I think its hilarious, I mean if someone is dumb enough to take something from your can without knowing you, then they deserve to be blown up.
Your going to get crap from the care bears but who cares really... Youd get the same reaction from them if you were stealing ore.
Some people think that they should be able to play this game with no risk at all because they are little crying babies. To each his own.

To you guys who think the high sec pirazy is lame: EVE is a PvP game and you should't feel safe anyplace. Not even in a station. I've also changed my tactic so i don't ask thme to take my cargo anymore. I met a 2 day old n00b who barely spoke english and when he wen't into 10%hull i fell quilty. I stopped my guns and snet him 3 mill to pay for his repairs and to pay for me being stupid. Now i use a agro/scan tecnique. But as i hate now that Negative sec status can alert your enemies i want to keep that 0.0 or positive (0.0 is positive?) I've made 11mill in to days and killed 10 persons in PvP from i began with Alexis.

Congratulations. You have begun your journey to the dark side.
My main started out running missions, then attempted a courier mission from another player that required a pretty big collateral, but offered a very nice payout. Just required a trip through Amamake. I'll let you guess how that ended...
Desperately in need of money, he took to mining Veld into a can in 1.0 space with his Navitas, then going back and picking it up with an Iteron MkI. Imagine his suprise when he was mining and someone came up to his can in a hauler of their own. Suddenly the can he had been filling for the last 45 minutes exploded. He lost it and ripped the guy a new one in local, much to the entertainment of a few others, I'm sure... Still ignorant of such modules as webbers and scramblers, he got his Catalyst and went hunting for the thieving bastard and found him several times, but he always warped away before he could lock and fire. Aggro timer ran down and in his frustration, he packed up his crap and moved to another system to jetcan mine. After it happened again, he decided to be on the giving end of that equation and hasn't mined since...
After he had been flipping cans and stealing ore for awhile, he discovered it was even more fun to hang around after stealing a can and see if they shot back, so that he could return fire and get those oh so precious killmails. Soon his sec status reached the point that he was no longer allowed in 1.0 space, then .9, .8, .7, and so on. He moved into steadily lower sec systems, searching for prey. Ratters, miners, traders, he no longer cared. It was all about his addiction to killmails and the sounds pods make as they go squish. The addiction needed to be fed and he eventually found himself in 0.0 space, mining nothing more than those precious killmails he could no longer live without...
Soon, your journey too will be complete.

Well, congratulations on being the last straw, and so completely ruining someones game experience that they simply quit outright, resulting in less prey for you, and less money for CCP.
It's bad enough for newer, casual players to get a leg up or have any fun with the constant gatecamping, and now, hi-sec mission griefing, but now they can't even mine, due to hi-sec ore snatching while hiding behind the skirts of CONCORD.
What's next, suicide-ganking people in the tutorial as they exit the station the first time, unable to move ? yeah, that'll encourage them, won't it ?
People with actual lives and jobs don't have the time to devote to constantly make up losses caused by almost constant harrassment, nor are most of them are not interested in savaging their real life to meet the obligations of a large alliance, so in essence stuff like this drives them right out of the game, and quickly.
There's also just how far (don't deny it) the deck is stacked in favor of people who do these things, and folks get tired quickly of having weeks of in game work instantly demolished for some thugs six seconds of amusement - it's simply not worth it, and in the end, neither is the game.
In short, you're working yourself right out of a job, Molly quit, and Fred went with her - when people simply cannot progress or actually accomplish anything, they tend to do that, you see.
So, congratulations on your.... victory. such as it is. |

This game isn't for everyone and the ones that don't want to get bothered, I think playing wow on a pve server is a better choice. Don't blame this guy or call him a noob for doing what he did. Cause and effect, guy.
After trying and not liking lowsec, went to missions to make ISK and boost standing, and after realizing that doing them in lowsec is suicidal, did them in high sec... until folks started blowing up or jacking the mission loot, ruining my standings and making it impossible... and then, I go freakin MINE, in high sec and what ?
Can't do that neither, can I ? I never called him a noob, in fact, I just pointed out his direct affect on his potential future prey.
You run people out of the game before they actually get anywhere, you're slaying your future golden goose right there.
Wouldn't you rather have gone head to head some future day with your rat pack versus my future battleship with some tasty mods on it, at the back of a 0.4 gate ?

GJ on killing the mammoth that was a bit cheap but i'll accept it since he probebly should have known better. Killing the "probebly 1st day" imicus after telling him to take the stuff from your can and then bagging about it however, that is just sad. Very very sad. I'm usually one to respect a pirate because it's hard buisiness "at least in .4 and lower", but when you need to kill first day newbs "He was in an imicus for cryin out loud" that's just pathetic. __________________________ Why babelfish is bad mmm k "which the night do not expect that it calls the primary education before becoming deformed inside" |
