I dont understand this mission. It seems like it would be imposible to do solo if your not in a battleship. Does anyone have any information on it?
I kill 1 thing and i get swarmed. Is there a kill order? whats the secret?

its pretty straight forward really....check the ships in each group, if there is a single ship with a diff name from the rest, dont kill it.
When you have killed all the ships with duplicate names, kill the one left and new spawn will roll on in.

Edited by: DiuxDium on 04/12/2006 21:19:14 Takes me 40 minutes in my drake. My friend does it in his Myrm in about 30.
Step by Step incoming.
Warp In 0km Destroy Statis Begin full speed in random direction. Destroy the "named" cruisers (They have HAC level shield resists) Destroy all the rest except the one Destroyer Destoy destroyer Next spawn Kill everything except the Assassin Kill assassin Next spawn Kill everything, the next spawn is caused by a BC of some kind, not exactly sure. Next spawn. Kill everything once again. Next spawn Kill the jamming frigs (They have AF level resists) Kill the "named" BC's, once they're dead, mission complete Warp out.
5-6m in bounties. It's challenging, fun, and worth the time.
Edit: A few things of note. 1) The loot sucks. I've done this mission 3 times so far, the best I got was a Malk Launcher. 2) Kill the "HAC's" asap, they hurt ALOT. Insane damage modifiers on those Flamburst missiles.

I'm happy with it, can do it in a harbinger with a little difficulty, or a myrmidon with no difficulty, multiple million bounties from a lvl 3? Sweet ________________________________________ <("<) <('')> (>")>

I leave the HAC-resist cruisers til last (except for the trigger) on each wave - it's more important to reduce the amount of incoming damage as fast as possible, so kill the soft targets first to preserve your tank.

Edited by: Safaomae on 06/12/2006 01:08:54 did it in a Retribution today
first and most importantly, take out the stasis tower first!
then those annoying jamming frigs then the cruisers, in order of whichever I happen to be closest at.
if you're chasing a ship, try and herd them away from the new incoming groups, do no approach groups of cruisers in a straight line, fly above, or below them to increase your transversal.
keep your speed up, and dont be afraid to run away and come back. I warped out about... 4 or 5 times. once right at the beginning as I didnt see the stasis tower! and then later as I didnt realise my ship had stopped as the ship I was approaching had blown up . also again later as my crystals gave way and I didnt have spares on me.
but it's doable! (knowing which ships triggered the next spawns as written in one of the above posts would have been most useful though)
pain the arse to clean up afterwards though

? Maybe its diff in versions besides the serpentis one, but I've never warped in within range of the stasis tower, and I have always left it for last, as there is plenty of maneuvering room to not go and run into it. ________________________________________ <("<) <('')> (>")>

Done it with sacrie in less then 50 mins ... cleanup take a lot more and even so, I dident salvage. Loot was not worth it, btw. so keep killing.
Btw. i think in a Geddon this mission might be much harder.

Just did it in my Myrmidon (new Gallente BC) and I'd say resistance pretty much gets you where you want to be :]. Warping in and out helps a lot as well.

we just done the lvl4...
the concord version , for a start the bad news :
=> 2 Hours to complete => The tanker was a Vulture (83/91/92/94) ( 2 gang mod (25.2% bonus) 1 for resits and 1 for energy on shield boost, 1 shiel boost amp, 1 Large shield boost II => The DD : 3 magnetic, 6 350mm tech ii + 2 remote medium shield booster named => and needed an AUguror for capa for the 2 frst ship => 5K lp ( i got the 2 special skill @ 4) => 2M total isk (reward + time reward) => Done in 0.0 => The loot was really not so good => The wreck are pityfull (skill salvager @ 4) => Concord doesn't have bounty => Concord hit for the 4 damage
the good news : => now i know to never ever again do this mission to 3M isk and 5k lp ..
can i petition it for bug maybe ? ----------- Igvar Thorn arn ! |

I guess it must be, it got me on warp in pretty much but then I may have just flown towards it stupidly

I did the mission yesterday and found it extremely hard. The one point that blows this mission somewhat over the edge are the light missile spamming elite cruisers. I mean come on, up to 112 km range with light missiles ? This means they can hit everything from frigate size up with some 60 damage per second per ship. If it wasn't for the extreme range of the light missiles, this mission would be a lot more doable. Also you aggro 1 ship and everything up to 250 km goes after you. Of course I never quiet finished the spawns before triggering the next ;P

I guess this mission is easy if you do it by the numbers, but if you mess up and spawn all waves you have a problem. Today a friend did that, not knowing what was coming for him, so he called in reinforcements. We were several to respond, since we were in the area. 3 of the 4 waves had already spawned.
We had a Typhoon, Tempest, Raven, Ferox and a Hurricane. The Hurricane was sadly lost, fast. We had to warp out in turns, and once we had to warp out all of us before warping in and finishing all of them. I must say the rats were pretty "smart". Instead of spreading their damage around, they concentrated fire on one target at a time until destroyed or warp out. And then switched to a new target. Which meant any one at a time was under a tremendous barrage of firepower.
But it was fun, at least for us that did not lose our ships. I am certain some very good player with elite skills and modules could have done it alone, but it was very fun as a group effort
But if you screw this one up yourself without any hope of backup, I do not know how you can finish.

That was interesting...
About 45 minutes in a Raven, with all the spawns triggered! Had to warp out 3 times, lost a set of drones the first time when the first two trigger-spawns jumped in quickly after each other.
Took out the BCs first, then the destroyers/frigates, leaving the HACs til last. Doable solo, but not a chance without warping out to recover a few times...

I did it yesterday in my passive tanked Drake. It took about an hour and another hour to loot. Shields never went below 64%, but I warped out a couple times between spawns to keep the wrecks closer together.
The tips in this thread really helped.

Two VERY important things you must take into account when doing this mission to make it easy as pie
1. Learn to recognize what rat spawns the next "wave". It's usually the rat that's only one of his kind in his wave (all others are at least "duplicates"). If you're careful, you can tank L3s in a BC and L4s in a BS with decent skills.
2. It is NOT a deadspace mission, it's an "encounter". Warp in, drop a BM, warp out, warp back to 100km if you want, or even more through repeats. Come in from the other side if you want, keep the rats spread out over hundreds of KM in all directions, pick'em off one at a time. If you have any decent sniping setup, USE IT in conjunction with the above trick to clean the mission in no time.
Other than that, what can I say, this mission is AWESOME. I mean, heck, did L3 version in about one hour (destroyed everything, NOT warped out when mission was complete), and I think I raked in close to 7 mil ISK from bounties alone. _ My skills | Mod/Rig stacknerfing explained |

for bounties and even loot/salvage, the mission is ok, although it didn't seem that way when I did it for almost three hours, and another half to loot - that is with warping out twice because I ran out of ammo;
if you've got a long range setup on your ship just stay away from the pack, doesn't even matter how many waves you spawn as long as you're moving away from the warp in point. The "T2" enemies suck though, so missiles do have a slight advantage as you can hit their resistance hole. Then again I'm glad I refitted my Ferox to use missiles just before this mission (Blood Raiders version). The fact that you can warp freely in and out (and to the "base" once I got hundreds of km away from them) also helps a lot

fully sniper mode with dmg / tracking mods..
I ask as I might try it .

the Mach(ariel?) is a battleship, aye? it's easily doable with a BC in sniping setup, with higher skills/better mods I can even imagine doing it in certain cruisers (avoiding the bulk of their damage didn't seem too hard to me) so I would be surprised if people actually lost a BS to this mission (although I know people who lost - badly fitted - BCs to the L2 version)

What luck! I went to the Mission forum this morning hoping to find some info on this mission and there it is! Thanks.
However, I'm pretty stuck at this point. I've brought on about 4 spawns worth of frigs and destroyers because (naturally) I went after the cruiser. At this point I just want to kill the guy so I don't fail the mission. When does he come and how can I identify him? (Name escapes me at moment)
I'm in a Brutix tanked for Serps but there is just too many of them and I'm running thru the ammo like rain. ________________________________________________ Captain Anderi Bourdieu - Branch Manager Caldari Office - Hadean Drive Yards
