Got bored of doing L4's in a Raven, so decided to train for BC's then bought a Drake. Thought I'd start out in L3's seeing as I've never flown one before and got this mission first.
Was good :) got good missile and shield skills though... doable solo in a BC.

All lvl3 missions ar doable solo in BC's- even for a noob like me :) only problem is that darned Illegal Activity with those gallente frigs that I can't hit (and neither can my 5 drones even if I have target webbed at 85%). Have to solve that still. All others, including Blockade, are piece of cake :)

Want some real fun? Make the angel version with a BC spawning the wrong way.. Oo god.. That became reaaaly nasty.. its seems like the world is gonna comllapse upon you. Even any armor tanked BS with not uber gear might have ahard time to tank it. If brute force doesn't solve your problem.. then you are not using enough!! |

Maybe the angel ones just just especially easy, but I had little trouble with the level 3 or 4 versions of this one. Did level 3 in both a cyclone and a hurricane. Cyclone tanked it very easially, but the hurricane was much faster. The level 4 version I settled on a barely tanked long-range howipest. I had all of a exp hardener and a large shield booster, which was plenty as long as I stayed out of range of everything but their missiles. Slow.. but doable.

A little off the original topic but the easy way to play this mission is to make a BM and warp out before the frigs / cruisers close on you, then warp back at your max range from the initial BM, pick off the frigs / cruisers as they close on you, then make a second BM, warp out... rinse and repeat as necessary.
You can use a variation of the tactic on Blockade by warping between the different structures around the mission area (you can also warp to wrecks).

Is there something different about the Level 3 Angel blockade? Problem I'm having is that there are no "Unique" ships (as has been mentioned and I've seen in the Level 2 version). No way to determine who is going to spawn the next set.

That's just how it is sometimes. Zero unique ships are possible, and the trigger being a ship with duplicates is possible, so don't count on that "rule" to save your ship, you may end up in a pod.
That being said, the L3 is soloable in a myrmidon or drake. I don't have great BS skills so I had to use a friend to deploy 5 heavy shield drones, but with those humming and my XL C5L, the domi worked very well (angel version, hence the shield tank).
The mission offers heaps of bounties and salvage, and the reward is none too shabby. Being apathetic as I am I'm working with a -18Q agent (can't be bothered to move), but it was still quite well paying.

It's nice for all those wrecks, but almost everytime I've gotten it I've killed the "wrong" ship and gotten the next wave. Once I had about 40 ships out there with those stupid jammers breaking my target lock.
It was amusing, I was warping out and dropping bm's everywhere and ended up killing the jammers by going to the 0 warp in point a few times. Was in a railgun Ferox.
If I could do it making all those mistakes, then it certainly can be done solo.

This is the only lvl 3 mission my drake needs to use the Sheild booster. All the others I can kill enough for passive sheild regen to tank the rest. Fun mission with some nice pay. Even better if you run it right before DT and again right after for the double bounty.

Yes, I too have noticed at times you could get 0 unique spawns. Typically it's buried in some of the higher bounty rats so I typically leave them for last and pray I get one or both of the escorts before nailing the main.
Needless to say, I don't always get my wish. :)

Having a shield booster on a pve drake makes baby bunnies cry.
Blockade is such a simple mission in a drake... if it isn't you have somehow managed to screw up the drake's amazing tank. Without a single Rig in a drake you should be able to do Blockade without moving after you warp into the mission. I just sit still killing everything. I don't even fire until ships get within 20km if possible (except for the ships I know will never get that close). I've started killing unique ships earlier to make the spawns come faster so the mission will be over faster, it certainly isn't that hard.

Im having problems doing this mission even in a decent ship. My problems begin though after its messed up, everything begins to freeze up, theres too many ships and missles for the game to handle at once..... Its not a problem at my end either, ive lowered all the settings on my rig and no change, it locks up and skips about 10 seconds at a time and then I just blow up before I can warp out....any suggestions?

I've done this mission at lvl 2 in a Prophecy. The mission is ok, but it takes far too much time to deal with. I just throw it away and complete 2 missions faster with same amount of LPs.
The bounty is good though, but I don't care.
The first mobs are easy. Next spawn dosen't deal much difficulty either. One spawn is terribly annoying though, as they screw up your turret tracking. Luckily I took my time to train a bit of drones to deal with the jammers, along with the single launcher slot. I had FoF missiles along too, in case of a different jam.
And as already noted, the loot sucks :-S --- Currently flying a PvE geared Crusader and Prophecy |

Im a sub-2mil sp char at the moment, and can do this (lvl 3) in a passive drake without having to warp out once, as long as its by-the-numbers. About an hour. Still a pain in the arse.

i love this mission too, i was very happy when i got it the first time on Lvl3 a few minutes ago, cause i had lots of fun with lvl2 ...But there is a slight problem now. In the first and second waves , there were NO single ships. there were two of each type at least and unfortunately i shot the wrong down. This will take the rest of the evening i guess, cause i get spammed by missiles now ;)
if anyone knows why there are no single ships, or how i can control the trigger now, plz tell here ;)

I ran into this mission a few days ago. I still have nightmares.
I was working up the standings ladder for a caldari corporation, and had just gotten to level 3 combat agents. I traded in my vexor for a myrmidon, but figured that I really didn't need it. I had done level 3s before, they weren't that hard. A good cruiser can do them, a battlecruiser would be overkill. A Myrmidon should dominate with it's tanking bonuses and nice low slots.
Or so I thought.
My first mission was this blockade mission. Guristas. Within seconds of warping in my tank was melting. Okay, that was strange. I was able to passively shield tank (with no modules) the level 2 blockades, this shouldn't be that much harder should it? I try again, somehow convinced that it was a fluke, and nearly die from the lag when warping in.
I spend an hour flying around looking for more kinetic and thermal hardeners before I'm ready to try again. I fly in, and I am slowly able to kill a cruiser or two before I need to warp out to regain my cap (dual medium armor rep IIs, no cap rigs).
Slowly and painfully I clear out the cruisers and trigger the next spawns. Eventually I was able to break apart the groups and reinforcements so that they were over 200km from each other at most points so I didn't have to take the full assault, meaning I only had to run one armor rep continuously to survive. The dire cruisers took about 5-10 minutes each to kill, that's with a few nos on them to slow down their shield boosting. I need to warp out many, many times to regain my cap from the sheer amount of damage everything is putting out. I spent maybe 1/6 of the time target jammed.
All in all, it took around 5 hours for me to complete this mission. I had to travel around low sec to replenish my medium drones a few times when I wasn't able to draw them back in quick enough when a new spawn appeared. I probably spent around 10 million in order to complete the mission so I wouldn't have to take a standings hit from failing it.
Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I tried another level 3 mission from the same agent. I was able to passively shield tank it (again, with no shield modules at all) with no problem at all.
So this mission is very brutal. Especially vs Guristas. You would have to be careful even with a battleship, if you don't have the right resistances (over 80% in kinetic and thermal) I could see it going down very quickly.
Insane mission. I will never take it again hehe.

The level 2 version is very easy to do. I done it twice now with a Caracal and a one week old character. Never got below 90% shields on the second time I did it and that was when I wanted to loot some stuff and didn't care about gettign shot. Range is key, keep enough range and keep moving when they get closer and they can't touch you.
What is the range of the targets on the level 3 version?

they start to fire from quite a long range, cant remember tho, havent got this mission in long time sadly. have done it for others several times now tho- we have three-man-brotherhood in one station, everyone is doing lvl3's and if somebody gets blockade, other two go and help him to clear it out quickly. 1 bts and 2 bc's. pure carnage :P
salvaging takes lots of time, but you salvage this mission with a smile on your face

I liked this mission. Just warped in the active tanked drake and killed everything. This mission is the only level three where I really need to run the t2 large sheild booster to under 50% cap to tank it.

Wow, I guess you can tell the combat oriented characters in this thread. With Cruisers at 4 and BC at 4 my Caracal completes this missions pretty easily. Im able to fit 2 LSE on my Drake, 1 on my Caracal. Its all about your Shield Resists and hardners IMHO. Also my cruiser Heavy missle hits out to 80km and targets (with sensor booster) out to 100km. So usually I get out of range of the light missles (50KM or so) then knock them down starting with smallest ship class first (Frigate). Very Very easy mission never even got below 1/4 shields on my Caracal. Drake is 'I fall asleep and win' for this mission.

i think i made 2m from this mission taking into account the times i had to repair. i am not going to salvage because i m too fed up with it.
this was the first mission i ran in 2 years and yea well .. i wont be back to do this crap again.
i guess i learned that my drake can take about 15 - 20 cruiser.

Level 3 variant of this mission is WAY WAY too hard. I use a Drake with passive setup, 2x kinetic, and 2x thermal t2 hardeners.
I have no way of grouping which is which spawn. So this is what I have so far:
3x Dire Pithi Demolisher 1x Dire Pithum Abolisher 2x Dire Pithium Inferno 1x Pithatis Enforcer 22x Pithatis Executor (these are battlecruisers!) 3x Pithum Inferno
CCP really needs to fix this. This mission either needs some serious nerfing, or 2-3x the loyalty point gain. It is very challenging to complete it. I've warped out numerous times.

I fly Amarr {Harbinger} for lvl 3 missions and get the Sansha version. I was given The Blockade a couple of days ago, got a third of the way through and went back to my agent and told him to shove it..lol This was after numerous warp outs and repairs which cost me up to 4.5 million isk and I was almost broke as it was.
I was offered the mission again today and went out and bought some T2 hardeners {Thermal and EM} and it was much easier. I got through the first 3 waves without warping and got the whole thing done in less than an hour.
Basically, like most have said here, the key is to use the hardeners against the faction and try not to kill the trigger spawns until last. If you do those two things, this mission isn't so bad even in a BC.

like i said before.. its not that bad really. like has been said, good resists/dmg type usage is key. i had done it in a hurricane and it went pretty well altho a bit slow and had to move around a good bit to make my tank take a little less dmg
a drake friend came in and he tanked 2 waves without a problem.. and the wave trigger is (atleast was for me) easy to spot too

I haven't had any problems with this mission. My passive tanked/rigged drake can tank 3 waves without breaking a sweat. It takes a while spamming heavys, but not to bad. Get your resists up, and watch the spawns. Its been said before but look for the one with unique name, and kill it last.
Please stop calling for this one to be nerfed, its one of the only ones that keeps me awake. (It's also quite fun in a heavy assault missile cerb)
