Your subscribtion pays for your EVE account, Mr. Disgrunted Customer. If the servers go offline, then it's CCP responsibility to fix them and provide you with the best quality product. Beyond that it is up to CCP how to deal with their budget. Or do you maybe hold shares?

I can't believe any of you really get offended by what the commentators or panel say, if you do then you have a problem not them.
Lighten up.
Personally I couldn't give two hoots how much grief they give BoB, it's entertaining and we put ourselves out there in the public eye enough to be a big target for a bit of a bashing. MC certainly have no room to talk either given the fact that you're public image is deliberately maintained to ensure you're always in the public eye.
No matter what EveTV do they will be criticised by someone. However, what can't be denied is that the commentary was truly awful during the first tournament broadcast on EveRadio and since that time has improved 100 fold. EveTV has continued to evolve in a very positive way and it's always a lot easier to criticise than it is to improve upon something yourself.
I still think the odd comment here and there is a little over the top or that the panel get something wrong or go off on a bit of a tangent but this is not the BBC or SKY news, these people haven't had media training, the shows aren't scripted, the hosts haven't had 10 years broadcasting experience etc etc... and I'm quite happy about that, the slightly amateurish and wandering randomness of some elements of the show gives it character. This is largely a broadcast for players by players, it shows and thats a good thing.
Really some of you lot need to get off your high horses about this issue and chill out.

Starting with an insult isn't really a good way to get your message over, especially given the irony of it being an insult to someone's mental capacity given the structure and content of your own message.
Your post is intensely hypocritical as no-one has a bigger mouth than Burn Eden (except perhaps BoB but I don't mind admitting that) and as a corp you've a history of posting stuff on the forums that suggests you would do well to not call other people mental midgets.
There's an implicit threat in the 'there's nothing we can do to you' statement even though you try to deflect it by saying you can't be bothered to track them down, which quite frankly is just schoolground bully talk and isn't terribly effective at reinforcing any serious point you've got to make because it's just going to make people laugh at you. You would really think about going after these guys in game because of something said on EveTV? The fact that it would even cross your mind says an awful lot more about you than it does about the EveTV team.
Lastly your comments aren't 'fact' they're opinion, so not only do you start your post with an insult you end it with a statement that is so obviously incorrect it blows your own arguments out of the water. If you've got a valid opinion then at least learn how to get it across effectively rather than just making yourself look ridiculous.

I don't personally care about the commentary since the last tournament so I haven't been paying attention to it. Mute FTW!
Last tournament they made a comment along the lines of "If we don't know who you are you must suck." Which rubbed me the wrong way and set the stage for my opinion of the commentors. I see by the fact that this thread exists they are continuing on that same line.
I agree wholeheartly with Seleene's post; #26 on the first page, on what needs to happen if they wish to expand EveTV into anything more than childish banter.

The commentary is not only good, it's better than can be expected. To go into a tournament and then expect the (volunteer) commentators not to send you some pikes, etc, is blatantly stupid.
What amazes me most, or perhaps pleases is a better word, is that it is most often the touchy people who like to be rubbed the right way in their propaganda that take most offence. People who are used to being adored and pampered suddenly has this verbose guy on a live, public, show say things about you that you don't particularly want to hear.
Too bad, ce' la vie.
I submitted the appropriate material to the EveTV guys for my team. We're hardly mentioned, and when we are it's usually with MC in the same sentence. Just because we have no love for being associated with MC doesn't mean we're remotely angry at the EveTV staff.
Shape up, swallow your pride. This is the public opinion as seen from a different perspective than your own.

Opinions are like a filtered out word, everyone has one. My affiliation with ASCN has nothing what so every to do with my posting. I don't even know what the comments were towards ASCN except outside of what I've read on the forums. Mute FTW and all that.
My *opinion* (OMG) is if they wish to expand outside of these tournament venues then they need to strive for a basic common denominator. Some people are going to find the commentary funny while some people are going to find it insulting or in bad taste. It would be better for them to cut out that insulting portion of the equation.
A witty comment here and there is fine but if my memory of the last tournament carries over to this one they spent more time continuing with whatever they thought was funny then providing meanful comments which will just lead to people not even bothering to listen; me for example.
Really the purpose of my post was to support Seleene's post on the first page. Either way opinions that people have set in stone are impossible to argue regardless of whoever may or may not be in the right or if there even is a right answer at all. |

here at EM, we love to be hated, so it's no big deal. We caught the comment about us "roleplaying heterosexuals" and found it humorous. And anyway, the tournament really is more of a test of how well you can do in the tournament, not a test of how good you are at the game. On the same day we lost our match we went out and inflicted 6 billion worth of damage in ships alone and took out some clowns' pos.
The tournament is fun, and it's nice to win, but it doesn't mean anything.

Whatever happens, 'neutral' entities in the game, will always be attacked by other groups for not being neutral enough. Whether it be on the forums or in-game.
Just look at TRUST, ISS, Eve Tribune, and now EveTV. They have all at some point or another been accused of being pro-x or anti-y*.
My only grief relating to EveTV has been related to their recent Flash-based stream, which at the end of the day was the fault of the 3rd party company involved.
*Personally I despise X's. Man, they really **** me off

The first alliance tournament had no evetv. All we could do was listen to it on eve radio or read about it on the forums. Not really that great. As soon as you get a better way of showing it, you ge people complaining. Now, I understand that some reputations were verbally abused live in front of thousands of people.
Anyone who is smart enough to care about, knows opinions are always biased.
Anyone who isn't smart enough and believes everything they see on TV doesn't matter.
I therefore fail to see what the problem is? Did EVE TV not verbally abuse us all equally? I remember Molle being given a very hard time on SiRadio for example. So its far from a BOB propaganda machine and the fact that the only BOB guy on there was about as far from a propaganda monkey as you can get speaks volumes.
I'm kinda shocked so many people have so much to say, now I understand what TV networks have to deal with!

yay for biast tv!!!! no matter how good of a presenter junkie is but after posting the private forums of ascn on eve o and the " i apologise for using the wrong char, but not for doing it(oh and btw im not really sorry this is just damage control)"thread, i wonder how much people will not bother watching again?? quite a few from the posts been made.
