I think you have a bigger problem: your father doesn't trust you, he assumes that you will lie by default. That may or may not be warranted by your past behavior, but it's a problem either way.

Feel bad for you, being mocked & put down for doing something innocent that you really enjoy.
Don't bother telling him the things you can learn from Eve, etc. To him, it's still just a game & is meaningless & he'll say you can learn those things elsewhere. Use some of these points:
 1. If he watches movies, or regular TV shows, he loses. Complete waste, I hate them both. Movies: You kill an automatic 2hrs + money watching just one. When finished...what are you gonna to do? Fictional things happening to fictional characters, and you've wasted 2hrs to find out about it. Having no impact on anything, learning nothing, getting nowhere. TV is the same - it just takes longer to get the same useless information b/c of commercials.
2. Does he drink at all? He loses. Complete waste, I hate alcohol. It is expensive in so many ways. You destroy money, brain cells, time, and family doing it. It happens all day every day in our very world. We all know this is true, facts are proven, no room left for argument.
3. Does he follow sports? Complete waste. One game = 2-3hrs of wasted time. After watching all the hype & absorbing all the stats, and all the beer-pushing commercials...where are ya? What have you accomplished? What are you gonna do? Nothing. If anything, maybe get all upset about your team losing & beat your family (prolly cuz you've been drinking). This also is true, happens every day, and is proven fact. ER rooms see pickups in activity from domestic abuse every single week after a home-team loss in the NFL. Seriously, it's sad.
To conclude, if he's still bent on harassing you & making you feel stupid AFTER having completed your work - then you're just gonna have to move out at your first opportunity. Until then, don't let him get you down bud. He's just being shallow, tbh. |

I had a crap dad as well.
Do what i did, and tell him to go **** himself.
I havent seen him in 7 years and I hope he died very painfully.
Then again what he did was worse then complain at my gaming.

All games are a waste of time, during this free time, we should work out, or do art, read books, lecture our selfs, go out, socialize more.
there is a whole world out there.
so yeah eve just like any other game that seem too much like real life, is a waste of time.
Me having my ass on a chair right now won;t benefit me in anyway, yet i choose to play it because its fun, not because its beneficial.

M8 you are not alone with this. My dad asks me the same questions everytime i play EVE. (In fact he is absolutely fascinated of the game, he's just to proud to show - Maybe your dad is too...)

Life is largely a waste of time.
Work is usually a means to end, but is more or less a waste of time. The end being so you can buy stuff and go on holiday.
You go on holiday and either sit on a beach/ tour around looking at stuff/ get drunk or maybe all three.
All of which are a waste of time.
The stuff you buy is used:
To give you fuel so you don't die so you can waste more time
To wear while you are wasting your time
To wear so you look cool in the hope you will waste time having sex
To make your life easier while you are wasting time - usually electronic goods
Does your dad ?
Fish - waste of time
Watch football - waste of time
Go to the pub - waste of time
Sleep - waste of time
Ride moutain bikes - waste time
The whole thing is a waste of time. I've had converstations with guys my own age (37) who think I am mad wasting my time on a computer game. But I don't see any of them saving the planet/ helping the starving.
And in case you were wondering saving the planet is mostly a waste of time and helping the starving..will just make more bored people with time to waste.
The next person who says to you that they want to be immortal. Ask them what they do with their lives on a cold wet November Sunday. And I'll bet you they sit there wasting time.

I don't have a life, so I play eve.
Also, I have depression. So when ever I start feeling down, I get into a PVP gang and I start to feel better:)
