PvP is dead and Revelations killed it. This isn't a whine about any of Revelations content specifically. These are just perceptions from an allround, casual PvP'er. I do it in highsec, lowsec, nosec and everywhere inbetween. I've been playing for 9 months and by no means a 'leet pvper' or whatever. Here are my observations:
- Lowsec is a ghost town. There are people in local yes but everyone uses WTZ, you never inhabit the same area as the people in local.
- Local chat standings are a dead give away to everyone, empire wars and piracy in both lowsec and nosec are now officially dead. I did a test the other night, I booted up an alt and added everyone in local chat to my address book. Upon logging in my main, 6 out of 15 people logged off. The remaining 8 were docked.
- Reinforcements are hell of a lot closer all of a sudden. Ok, imagine you find someone with an IQ in the double digits ratting in his Raven, all by his lonesome self. If you attack he will most likely call for backup. With the way corps in 0.0 operate they are usually not more than a few jumps out. Due to WTZ and increased tankability the likelyhood of finishing him off before the blob arives is small.
Your only options right now are bubble camping/camp breaking or fleet battles. But fleet battles are rare and mostly a game of numbers, lag and sheer luck. So PvP is reduced to bubbles and ******* around on the test server.
/rant off
I'm open to serious suggestions as to where to go now, because I can't find anywhere to PvP anymore. To my eyes EVE is now more PvE orientated than WoW.

QFT on all counts.
Also, we had the 'new' local before (whispers: buddy list...)
To the OP, go to 0.0 and you will find that there is PvP to be found all day long...

Want pvp all the time? Try Lineage II. I have a level 25 who gets ganked regularly by level 70s and has since he was level 5 and stepped out of the newbie area. I never gave up or got ****ed but still wondered why the elite would prey on the near non-existent for basically no gain.

PvP is not dead... not even close. There are other ways to PvP than shoot'em'up. Why not figure out your goal... why you are there in 0.0 and be the ultimate at it. Stop worrying about the 1 or 2 solo travellers trying to get in or out, and go for the big take down shot. INVADE! Stack up, move in Dread style, take over... take economy, shut them down. Then camp your gates and get the reinforcements that come.
Th ebox has an inside and outside... think outside for once. PvP isn't even close to dead... its only beginning.

Ah, see that is the problem. Most "PvPers" dont' want targets that shoot back, they want to shoot haulers, mission runners, etc.
You wanted the abilty to find mission runners and AFKers easier, so you got a new scan/probe system to do so. Revelations has made it trivially easy to hunt down mission runners and kill them. So they moved out of LowSec as THEY don't want to PvP with you.
You got what you wanted, it just hasn't had the result you wanted. <-----------> MMORPG == Massively Moronic Online Raw Powergaming Grief fests....

How do you get local chat to show standings? I've heard that this feature was added, but I can't find how to do it. Thanks!

So where are your reinforcements? Sounds like what you're complaining about is just that the enemy has superior numbers.

Dumbing down how? Your idea of "smart" PvP so far was bubble camps and POS warfare.
Like I tried to convey in my OP, I'm running out of options. I sure as hell won't start camping gates or playing POS ping pong again, 4 months of that is enough for a lifetime.

How to find PVP:
1) Go into any low sec system close to a trade route. 2) Go into a belt. 3) Wait 2-3 min.
Step 4 is wake up in clone vat.

Then you're back to the old waiting game where neither side ever fight each other unless the numbers are in their favor and you spend 4 hours chit chatting on TS until people start logging because they have to goto work in the morning.
I've been there like 3 dozen times, i've spend countless evenings like that. Its just not fun and Revelations force feeds you with more of this BS than before.

Low sec is dead... we border 00 and use to get fights all the time. Not just ganking, I mean actual fights.
Now it is becoming very rare. We only get the alliance folk coming out here now.
I think it's the stab nerf. I actually think it should be un-nerfed. It was not hard to kill stabbers before. -=====-

Actually Revelations gave us tools that help PVP not hinder.
1. WCS's nerfed so if you get on grid with someone you are more likely to keep them there. 2. WTZ allows less lag and the ability to move quickly in and out of systems and drops you on top of alot of people in belts. 3. New scanning has allowed us to drop in and say hello to Mission runners.
Is it tougher on solo ships to break tanks. Yes this is true but it is even field for all adapt.
Looking for "hot spots" open your map and look under Pilots in space in the last 30 minutes.
I agree Local is a complete advantage to your oponent. Not much can be done. It should be taken from the game completely (or made so you can log into it as an option). Not much can be done though.

In one sense i agree with you here, i don't like the extra hp buff every1 has got. Like u said, it's hard to kill double digit IQs cause of the extra time they get for support to jump ya. This happened yesterday to me and a m8. We went for a kill on a BC but it took ages to take him down. Mind you he had no active tank and it still took ages. The only reasons i could remember for this hp buff was to illiminate Alpha dmg. Imo this is a way of getting around the problem instead of fixing it...
hp buff - absolutely sucks wtz (no more g2g bkms) - good standings in local - fine, even tho local should be removed

A lot of changes were made to make pirates happy in Kali ( yes, I know its called Revelations, but Kali is a better name ;-) )
But some want their cakes and eat it - all advantages given to pirates, but no concessions to everyone else - re: nerfing local ( I know you didn't say specifically you wanted it nerfed ).

Actually I do want local nerfed as everytime I jumped into a system everyone warps to station and docks. I can deal with that I just don't like it.
I would love to have them fix the damn loggers though that is just bad form. Or at least tell me so I don't waste a bubble on your arse. -Raef
