This game has always promoted its PVP aspect, and the intriguing thing is that there were genuine material risks with PVP. Loose and you loose the results of many hours of game play. People liked that.
However to sustain your PVP youÆve got to do something to make isk. The two primary methods have been agent running and mining. (yes trading and building are viable too but they rely upon the mining and agent running).
However between ore thieves and now mission gank and grief, CCP has made the game PVP 100% of the time. Guess what? There is now NO safe haven to build the resources to support PvP. In time the net result will be depressing on growth within the game, and a slap in the face to a new user. The new user will have it the hardest. The way this thing is set up now you try to take one step forward, and a greifer/thief knocks you 5 steps back.
Once you had a game where PVP could be avoided by choice, no longer. The balance between Parasitism and Anabolism has been knocked over. There is no draw in this for me. And no you canÆt have my stuff, but you can (and will) buy it.
Meanwhile I guess it is time to infuriate existing players and drive new players away until this game is completely dead, this is the message I read by CCPÆs latest patch. I shall comply û new pirate convert here, with the specific mission to drive people out of this game.

So, since you no longer like the sandbox, you're going to pee in the sand?
Sounds like the kid who is tired of playing a board game and rather than just quit and go watch TV, he has to first throw the game money and knock the board over so that the others can't play.
Yay you! :)

With the patch content CCP is TELLING All of us to pee in the sand. I am just listening to them.

Solution: DEFEND YOURSELF. Stop expecting CCP to protect you from the horrors of PvP and use the tools available to defend yourself. Why are you falling victim to ore thieves? Because you insist on using jetcan mining to maximize your profits... you could accept a bit lower ISK per hour and use secure cans with complete immunity to thieves, but instead you're running crying to the developers.
You might have a bit of a point with mission scanning. It's currently too easy to grab the mission loot and break the mission. But the solution isn't "make mission runners immune to pvp", it's to make it harder to use that one "exploit." The simplest method would be just having all NPCs in the mission auto-aggro on anything that gets within a set distance of the mission objective. So the thief has to put a lot of effort into getting it, but the mission runner who gets it only after killing everything else is unaffected.

I did, that little "cancel account" button is the only real defense against the rampant griefing and harrassment that CCP supports while pretending they don't.

Every other MMO on the market is a carebear game. Go play one.
If EVE was turned into a Carebear game, I can garuntee that more people would quit than if High Sec was taken away totally. --------

Are people really so afraid that forum trolls like yourself are really going to track them down all over the Eve universe in order to "punish" them for making a benign post? Oh please. Stop with the "you posted with an alt!!!" garbage. It means nothing. Head + Arse = Bad

You have the tools to defend against the "griefing". I even told you one of them. You would never have to deal with a single ore thief, except you're too greedy to cut your ISK per hour a bit and use the tools you've been given.
But since CCP won't hold your hand and protect you from even the slightest loss, you'd rather just run away crying. Please do, and don't come back. EVE isn't a happy carebear paradise where everyone cooperates to make as much meaningless ISK as possible. Deal with it, or find a new game.

*yaaawwnnn* Funny how you say EVE is dying but that the 35,000 online players record has been broken just a few days ago if I'm right... Don't you think the number of players would go DOWN if it was dying?

No haven't you heard. A game doesn't truly die until the population grows.

I have to kind of agree with Jimmy, the fact that you have to constantly grind for ISK in Eve and you become the target of PvPers who want to stop you from doing that is the most annoying part of Eve. I made a billion ratting in lowsec untill an anoying Vaga cought me because I wasn't watching local closely enough because I was watching TV while killing rats for 6 hours. Ever since then I am just really annoyed with ratting, it's hellishly boring, but if you don't pay absoloute attention you get killed sooner or later.
I would really like more ways to make money with PvP, I hope that once planetary controll is added to the game you can collect taxes from them or something, so that you can fully focuss on fighting over the controll of planets rather then shooting the same rats a billion times. Right now alliances make a big lump of money from controlling complexes.
I would like a domination type system, you have to fight over several points of controll, and if you have all of them for a certain amount of time you get a deposit of ISK that makes it worth it. There would have to be a lot more then complexes though, so not only huge alliances have a shot at it.

Wait, so you went into a pvp zone, didn't pay attention and were shot down in the process by someone who was hunting you and you're whining over it?

Funny as hell with regards to solo playing, especially regarding "hold your hand and protect you ", I wonder what it is like in 0.0 with all the piwates and crappy isk.....

So here's what I read. 30k + users online (being a record number) means eve is dieing. Its horrible that you cant PvE in low sec at extreme profit without a PvP player ganking you. You cant mine at extreme profit without some sort of defense.
Last I checked thats how things were supposed to be. Cry some more.
