I would like to fly one having flwon a stabber for a long time in pvp, so i'd like to see any arty/autocannon tech & tech 2 setups for what is considered one of the best Cruisers in the game.

My solo Rupture is fit along these lines:
Highs: 4x Dual 180mm AC 2x Med Nos
Meds: 1x 10MN MWD 1x Web 1x Scram
Lows: 1x MAR 1x 800mm plate 1x Dmg Control 1x Gyrostab 1x RCU
1x Med Drone 4x Light Drones
Simple, and effective. Fit T2 where applicable.

If you need to tank a lil longer:
High: 4 x 180mm T2 2 x Assualt missle launchers
Med: 1 x T2 AB 1 x Webifier 1 x Warp Scram
Low: 1 x 1600mm plate 1 x Medium t2 armour rep 2 x gyros t2
Works well, esp if you are in a cruiser gang :)
needs quite a few SP in gunnery...

My solo setup is similar to the one above:
4x dual 180 autos (220's can fit too) 2x assault launcher
MWD web scram (20k)
small rep II 1600 plate EANM 2x gyros
I've done a nice bit of solo "pirating" in this ship, even bagged myself a munnin with it (arty without a web, what a noob!)

Use ruppy 24/7 these days, so effective in all situations, and with the 1600 plate can even plau with 0.0 rats.. although dmg output may be an issue if you havent got T2 guns.

a mwd is pretty essential for a rupture if you're going to run autocannons, mainly for keeping range on blaster thoraxes or pinning down ships if you start far away from them. I would reccoment dropping the ab for a mwd and taking the med rep to a small rep 2

This is a BS support cruiser namely fit to lockdown a frigate
NEED: energy grid upgrades V, electronics V, engineering V, Advanced Weapon Upgrades IV
4 x dual 180 II 2 x unstable medium energy destabilizer
1 x fleeting propulsion inhibitor 1 x fleeting warp scrambler 1 x YT-8 MWD
2 x gyro II 1 x medium automated carapace 1 x RCU II 1 x 800mm crystalline carbonide plate
Obviously, alot of factors go into this ship. One, you expect to fight frigs. Two, it's a close range battle for numerous reasons, the main one being that the destabilizers have a range of 12,500. However, if the ship does get into a range of 12,500, I can quickly zap 360 capacitor from my target. This would seriously cripple most frigates and then its just patience to destroy it.
Any suggestions? 2 x medium dim NOS also fit or a mix of 1 x destabilizer and 1 x nos too.

Mine is a bit different. The AC rigs are good, especially for solo work. The one below I've used in small to mid size gangs with good effect (and solo a few times, though risky).
Hi 4 x 720 II 2 x standard launcher (not much else fits)
Mid 2 x sensor booster 1 x 20km scram or web (can sub in Tracking Comp, if there are enough tacklers)
Low Small Rep II 1-2 Gyrostab II 1-2 Tracking Enhancer (can take out 1 and 1, and replace with 400mm plate and hardner, or nano, intertial stab, whatever floats you).
This setup works well at close range with Quake/Fusion/EMP (single volley inties, if you catch them right), and can double for longer range sniping with Tremor (out to about 80-90km effectively). Nice multipurpose ship, easily get normal hits in 200-300 range, wreckings over 900+. ________________________________________________ This thread does not exist

Edited by: Mila Prestoc on 13/12/2006 04:44:23 4x 180 T2's + whatever 1x MWD + web + scram 1600mm plate + DC + 1x-2x EANM + 1x-2x Gyro + 0x-1x small rep
Drones: 4x Hobs + 1x Med ECM
Rep in cargo if not fitted. Really nos immune. The big plate stands up better to short battles than reps which take a lot of time to repay the hp the big plate gives.

4x 720 T2 + 2x std missile launcher (or an offline remote rep) 2x Sensor boosters + 1x Tracking Comp 3x gyro + 2x tracking enhances

what makes arties so bad on a rupture? the only times ive fitted an AC rupture ive found an interceptor, assault frig or another cruiser with a MWD/NOS and i got pwned. however, when i fit 650mm's, i can keep range, keep speed, and am not victim to NOS. I do have an AC rupture, but i don't use it... (another reason is if you want to rat while u PvP, u have 10m3 left in you cargo bay cos the rest is all ammo)

To fit the oversized plate. dmg output is a little less but you get A LOT more armour and with a small rep and eanm's you require very little cap. Add a slave set and you are in a position to kill most things you'll come across.
the 425s are good for taking on larger ships but they do track pretty badly and the fitting reqs are really quite high for the rupture.

Edited by: Rogue Sniper on 06/04/2007 16:26:12 when flying my rupture i find that the heavy missile lauchers in the last two top slots don't do as much damage as i would like for pvp. i'm wondering whether energy vampires or destabilizers would be a better fit, or whether armor tanking with all high slots fitted for damage is better?

Arty ruptures really only work in gangs, since you probably want those mids for sensor boosting and tracking. That said, stick in some quake and you'll be doing some serious alpha damage. Also, 720s > 650s.
Solo, the 1600 plate/180mm t2 ac/mwd setup is your best bet. I don't see how you'd solo pvp in an arty rupture well. You want distance, but need to be close enough to keep them scrammed and not zipping about, screwing up your tracking.

I would try the 1600mm plated Rupture, if you haven't already - that setup is basically nos-proof, as the SAR doesn't do a whole lot anyways. You really only need cap for the web/scram.
The sensor boosted, MWD-ing, 720mm II quake Rupture is also fun in gangs, as others have noted.

I have a rupture setup that has never lost a 1on1 with any cruiser (t1, but its still a 50/505 even when your facing vaga's ;) )
I won't share it becase im rather fond of being one of the few people to use it. but just think "mini-tempest"
