Im not saying that law will happen, but I can easily imagine anything like that happening in the EU.
Careful Ghoest, if any western country has ill informed, biased and sensatinal unballanced press, its the USA. In fact, its one big ego trip from where some europeans stand! And many of us look to the US these day as it being a bannana republic with to much power and influence (an danger to peace in itself)! A society spinned totaly out of control, but with the people there being mostly oblivious to it.
Either way the law you are refering to deserves more details before passing judgement. From what i gather it applies only to total coverage of the body (except the eyes). Some people say they wear it out of "religious" (read political) motives. In the countries where this is usuage is supposed to come from it is not accepted in public at all and only in very retarded small backwater communities its in use!
The reason such a law is even being considered? It prevents any form of normal social contact, and can only spiral into suspicion and mistrust and possibly violence. If you see some people making themselfs totaly unidentifyable on purpose, would you trust them? For all you know, they are gona steal something or do a violent crime and get away with it. And yes, we had a political (pretending to be religious) murder not to long ago, so the concern is real. Besides it is in modern western societies totaly unacceptable to be unidentifyable. If they live here, they have to adapt and live by those rules!
Besides this, there are other more practical reasons for such a law to be implemented. Please don't forget, europe contains a large portion of immigrans that have not adapted yet (so do not fit in nicely) into our culture. There are social stresses that some political forces (pretenting to be religous) try to exploit to gain influence.
So far nothing new. Neither is killing at schools, out of europe this has been happening for over 20 years now. Its as shocking every time as the first time. But no logic can make a match between violent games and violent behavour to the extend of murder.
There is always something wrong with these kids and society often is to blame itself for not having a proper social framwork in place that these kids can function normaly in. Seesm like these days we all are to bussy with out own wallet and petty problems.
In a way globalisation and extreme capitalism can be blamed for nearly any problem on this globe realy! I wonder which country was the driving force behind that......right....the USA!
Some modesty of judgement seems in place here!
