I'm curious- how many known Titans are around these days? Every time I check the forums someone else seems to have one! (well thats an exageration, but you get my point )
So ASCN obviously have their Avatar, BoB have an Avatar too, and LV have.......another Avatar. Any others sprung up yet? And any chance we'll ever see a non-Amarr one?!
On a totally different note, why is the Avatar so popular? The stats are all a bit mind boggling to me, whats so great about the Amarr one? -----------------------------------------------

So far the only 3 know titans are the ones you mentioned. The reason the Avatar is so great is it's gang bonus. "7.5% bonus to gang membersĘ capacitor recharge rate per level" It beats the Armor bonus of the Gallente one, the Shield bonus of the Caldari one, and the Sig radius bonus of the Minmatar one

Ah. I suppose it is the only one which is universally useful for everyone- what Apoc pilot wants a shield bonus? -----------------------------------------------

One with an active tank?
Point taken though. No bonus is brilliant for everyone. Still, a Cap bonus is more useful than a mismatched tank bonus or 30% less sig rad (on a BS, I don't see many people partying over that one.............) -----------------------------------------------

how so? For Support maybe yes. But BS fleet would be better off with more cap or hitpoints to be honest. And what use is spending all that isk just to boost some of the support when you can increase your BS's hitpoints or cap.

ALL of the bonuses are damn great imo. Especially with the new gang structure.
Erebus: Free lg slave set per pilot Levi: Free lg slave set (for shields) per pilot Ragnorak: Free lg halo set Avatar: Free chelms cap charger per pilot.
Each and every one of them worth their weight in gold.
All of them together? With the latest hp changes?
You're a fool if you think any one is better than the other, they all have their uses.

The mimmitar titan's sig radius bonus may very well be quite the asset in a fleet battle - how fast a ship goes down is partially determined by lock time, so if one fleet has a lower sig radius then in the larger fleet battles that may give them something of an edge.
The Armor and Shield bonuses may also increase survivability of friendly forces as well. Every little bit that helps you warp out makes a difference at times.

I don't think too many large-scale (fleet) combat ops are extremely capacitor dependent.
The Avatar seemes to be good at letting your cap ships recharge in time execute another jump again.
I would prefer to have the minmatar one to be honest; as the person from SF said above, it increases lock time which is directly correlated to how quickly you lose ships, in fleet battles.

I guess the cap recharge bonus is quite useful when moving capitals a large number of jumps, but I can't imagine it being that useful in large fleets.
It would be great in small gangs with active tanks or whatever... but who takes a Titan along with a roaming gank squad.

Personally, I think the Erebus has the most useful bonus for fleet combat. That much extra armor dramatically increases survivability in a fleet fight, regardless of what type of tank you have. Surviving a fleet fight basically equals being aligned properly before getting targeted and clicking warp soon enough once you start getting shot. Factoring lag and pilot reaction time, the more hitpoints a fleet has to get through the more likely you will survive.
Of course, if you're warp scrambled or bubbled you will pretty much die assuming the fleet has the focus-fire discipline to waste you before you can shoo the tackler away with drones.

You need to look for the big entities that had a somewhat peaceful short term history. My guess is: BOB - 1 titan, perhaps close to 2nd. ASCN - 1 titan, close to extinction if things do not change LV - 1 titan, might take a bit to get the 2nd D2 - 1-2 titans, thinking 2 more likely than 1, going for another one. Others are just not there yet, in terms of being a "big boy".

IMO its amarr because of the doomsday. IN GENERAL em is the lowest resistance.
0% on shields, 60% on amaror Exp: 60% on shields, 10% on amaror.
If you took a rag and an avator and doomsday a fleet, only thing with a chance to survive would be a dread in seige mod. What ever I say is my own views and not of my corp. |

actually thermal resistance would be. 20% on shield, 35% for minmatar and gallente. (but of course, 45% for caldari! and 25% for amarr) ------------------------------

what?! shield bonus on gallente ships? who would want that! btw there might be 1 or 2 more, as some big alliances have capability of owning one.
