No sure if this is the right board but..
I talked to some guy called "Admiral Pringles" offered me his pith X x-large shield booster for 450m.. so he made a contract and I paid but no item..
I guess people in eve cannot be trusted.

I know you will not want to hear this but you should always check the contract before paying.
Scams like this one are legal and I'm doubt your get the Isk back. The only ones you can't scam on are game time card and trading of toons.

If they can't get it like our little frind can't take revenge on the good Admiral (obvious alt) then, like all animals making noise about it is the next reaction wether is be crying, posting on a forum, petitioning a GM or howling at the moon.

Okay, remember, DO NOT accept FreeForm contracts. NEVER!! They are always a scam. I almost fell for one myself over a Navy Issue Raven.
Be careful, only accept ITEM EXCHANGE contracts. |

Why flame the OP when it's the mechanism that allows this sort of thing to happen? The very mechanism that we were promised would discourage scams of this nature made them more prevalent. Avoiding freeform contracts isn't the answer. Removing the ability to create freeform contracts is the answer. They should have never been put in in the first place.

I agree, I do hope they will get banned because I bet a lot of players that got scammed got angry and quit playing eve. Atleast I almost did..

Sorry that you were one of the people who had to fall for this scam Arkie.
And to everyone flaming him, it was a new form of escrow and if you werent really careful or if you were alittle too hasty it could have happened to anyone.
No hard feelings and im sure you and everyone you talked to after this, has learned an important lesson in eve and you may have helped people save alot of isk this way

Sorry to hear you go hit with a scam Ark. Happened to me once too under the old escrow system. But that was abit harder since it was a set of BMs. The person in question actually made some 800 copies of a fake BM point supprisingly. Was a ***** to get them out of my hangar though. Ended up having to petition it since they wouldnt delete and caused some major problems.
I must also express some degree of supprise at the post from the scammer. Thats.. rather unusual.

TBH, i'm still ****ed about it because i never knew this was possible in the first place. The isk you took from me, I worked really hard for it. I was saving the isk to buy me a faction ship but I can kiss that one goodbye for quite some time now thanks to you.
Still, i have no hard feelings towards you or what so ever. I guess if i should blame anyone for it it would be me for trusting you.

OK, so you got scammed, others do too. Most just get on with it, and either get even if they can, or move on. But to ban the person?
What next - ban players for shooting other players?
Ban them from stealing ore?
Ban people from using cloaking modules, because they are too hard to see then?
Have the devs remove all the rats from belts because they spoil your fun too?
Grow up people, and wake up! If you are too stupid to read carefully, and make sure everything is OK, then you deserve it. It's part of the game. It's there so that people CAN do this sort of thing.
If you don't like it - go play WOW or something.

Good job by the scammer!
The fact that people fall for it is a good illustration of human naivety and stupidity.
I like that CCP condones scamming like this, it adds to the game, and weeds out people who really should be playing in the hand-holding pink fluffy land of WoW.
