Im interested to see how much a loss of a titan and fittings cost in u.s. dollars
easy to figure out, just find the total isk of the lost ship and mods and then use the timecard isk prices compared to how much ccp charges to play to find the isk = u.s. dollar ratio.
id bet a lot of ppl jaws will drop once that number is posted. i dont have access to the game atm to login and find out :(
350m= 40 buxs (based off of GTCs) Lets say the ship wit fittings was 70b (I know it cost more to build because of the bpos you had to buy, I figure it would cost 55b worth of mins, and 15b for the ship arrays, pos, and weapons, and skills).
70000/350=200 200*40= 8000
Now this in no way reflects the work, time and all the bpos you need to buy.
I prefer to look at the titan's real ingame value. Lets look at the value they got out of Steve the titan.
If the titan construction cost + mod costs is about 70billion isk. That means ASCN's titan cost them over 2billion isk per kill. Or if you factor in cost of BP's then about 5billion isk per kill. Maybe MC would have been worth it in retrospect. I know they'd be expensive but I doubt they'd charge several billion per killmail. They would definatly have been more effective.

Edited by: Tarron Sarek on 12/12/2006 07:30:24 Whoever said the average player's age in EVE was higher than in other mmo's might've been seriously wrong. 32 pages and lots of it redundant childish smack. I really would have preferred to read less of it, especially as it kinda doesn't cast a very positive light on a buch of people, BoB members included, but yeah, I should've known better.
Nevertheless congratulations to BoB for being the first to hunt down a titan. The actual kill wasn't that impressive, but you surely worked hard for it. So I guess it was well deserved.
Good luck to ASCN. Hopefully you'll find a way to fight back and keep that war interesting.

You guys are not allowed to do this during the week. It totally distracts from school work when you read a topic like this. No more big threads! -----

Being surrounded by targets is what we crave. We live for PvP. We strive to be the best. We intend nothing less to beat you into submission and then dance on your corpse. We want you to bring it. Does killing your titan while it was logged out lessen the experience for us? **** no. We destroyed your titan. Spin it however you like, Steve is not coming back.
However, I must ask you this question: does following a leader that so demonstrated such ineptitude utilizing such an iconic ship not lessen your enjoyment level?

Edited by: Kcel Chim on 12/12/2006 07:42:11 good job guys and an awesome week. Tourney hattrick and now the titan kill.
To all the naysayers, the titan kill is not "cheap" or worth less then a battlekill simply because the way you kill it depends on the person flying it. If the person is a coward and loves to hide and log you wont get an epic fight out of that thing no matter how hard you try. If the guy is a top bloke who takes risks and warps into enemy fleets (not setting off dds through cynos from a pos) you might get the fight ure looking for. For ascn the first statement seems to be true so the way of it beeing killed only reflects on the guy getting killed not the killers.
On a second thought, Ascn should really cut the petition crap. Most scenarios have been discussed and no matter how you turn it either by logging with aggro or by not getting his fleet on the roll to protect it while logging back in Cyvok did a stupid mistake. A mistake punished by death penalty.
I personally remember our first dreads getting engaged at an FE deathstar pos. Our FC never hesitated to warp in our fleet regardless of shipsize. We were told "we gotta bail the bigboys out, most likely we will all die. Protect the dreads at any costs". Ascn didnt do that.... Shows how much trust Cyvok has in them if he really crashed and figured it would be safer to keep quiet about it then to rely on his boys.
