Edited by: Mercykiller III on 12/12/2006 15:55:15 Edited by: Mercykiller III on 12/12/2006 15:52:48 Std Launcher Setup (range and speed, orbit somewhere at 12-19)
3x arbalest std launchers 1x 75mm rail II (spike)
1x Mwd (gistii or t2 depends on your budget, gistii is recommended for cap use and the insane speed tbh) 1x Fleeting Warp Scrambler (lowest cap use) 1x Fleeting or X5 Webber (u can go faction webbers too)
1x Local Hull Inertia Stab (could be nano, but this one is really hot) 2x Cap power relay (or 3 relays if u have low cap skills)
or go with plate and rockets (close range setup)
3 x Rocket Launcher II 1 x 150mm Autocannon II (or any close range gun you can fit, I'm matar-caldari hybrit)
1x Mwd 1x Webber 1x 7.5 Disruptor
1x MAPC 1x PDU II 1x 400mm plate
Crow needs Advanced Weapon Upgrades lvl 4 to fit right tbh.
Missile range rigs for rocket crow could change the setting more like missile setup and u can fit a better calibre gun in the 4th high (I guess u can fire tech 1 rockets up to 19km with rigs and skills). While missile setup can go for more speed or agility rigs. Time will tell.

been tackling with this setup for a while and seems to be working ok :)
High
3X TE-2100 standards
Med
Gisti A-type 1MN MWD Patterned stasis web fleeting warp scrambler
Low
2X PDUs 1X Beta hull mod overdrive injector
I initaly trained for a dictor and had to train for a crow by default so tryed it out and fell in love with it. I get 4909m/s can cont run this setup with mwd and tackling. Fighting ceptors pvp ive had little problems but obviosly not invincable lol and cant get damage enough to fight any thing worth bragging about lol. Not sure were every one stands on this im sure i might get flamed by some one, the crow has little to no place in pve imo above lvl 1`s, players with skills for a crow shouldnt still be stuck on lvl 1`s???
just a foot note pre revalations i seemed to get pwned by stilleto pilots with good ecm skills with the having a 4th mid they could web scram and jam BUT post revalations and the need for signal distortion amps ive so far been safe

very deadly crow setup: 3 standard launcher II's med shield extender. MWD something( idk, I can't remeber what was in it) 2 MAPC, was a local hull overdrive, but I would put a cap thingie in here.
that is what stella Blue flew for a while, It killed a lot of people unil he quit. for a while in ec, You basiclay had to have destoyers escort hauler ops.

Just got ot ask thats ditching the web for the exstender. would you refit for anti intys or can you fight as is. ive always found if a inty gets webbed by another inty unless you web them and they get up so speed you end up in a world of hurt.

I don't fly intercpeters. this was the setup of a guy who flew one very succesfuly. I got lucky a few times with a destroyers and poppe him. between killmails and what I remeber of his can, that was is setup.

For tackling, 3x standard launcher 1x what ever.
1x mwd 1x 20km scrambler 1x small cap battery
1x Micro aux 1x cap pwer relay 1x whatever you feel like.
I like the small cap battery, makes able to run mwd adn scrambler forever almost. With the real fancy gear you can run it forever. That is the most important thing for me when tackling, keeping that scrambler running. The second most important thing to me is to be able to keep the mwd running. Speed is your best defence.

ah right cool was just wondering. yeah i agree with hithero wolf speed is the key to staying alive in a crow but skills will also help in running a setup for a long time with a named mwd and top named scram i last a long time ** high speed manovering 5 ** propultion jamming 5 ** acelaration controll 5

for long range crows Id say power diag 2s x 2 work very very well, bigger shield faster recharge rate and still allot of cap, if u use relays u damge ur ship, it has big shield small armor and relays kill recharge rate, with 2 power diag 2s you looking at just needing to mwd out of range or warp out/ in and u have half shield again. Put that on top of the power gird it gives u if u fit a gista mwd which takes alot of power grid ...:) id use a mimi gun too if u got the skills even if its for close range (i used 75 gallent rail allot but even that cost cap and doesnt really do enough damge but when somthing tries to run its nice to mwd up close and use one auto canno to help punis the hull off

What are peoples thoughts on long range tech 2 rockets? Rocket DPS with missile range, the speed bonus is the only issue but I can still top 3700 with my gistii A.
Currently using:
3x Tech 2 Rocket Launchers
1x 20km scambler 1x Gistii A MWD 1x named cap recharger
2x cap power relay 1x nano (makes up a bit of the speed)
The other bonus is the choice, if someone gets close and stops me running or I want to fight close, I can switch to close range t2 rockets for max dps + speed.
I occationally stick a BCU 2 in the low slot but this obviously limits the time I can last, with 2x it can stay up. When I max out talents I should be able to pretty much keep it up even with the BCU.

i see what your getting at but in personal opinion ide take as much speed as i can over dps if your faster than your enemy, he wont be able to catch you, hit you or run away from you and you can (depending on situation) take your time and play with them :) but i think it also depends on how you use your ship and in what situations at the end of the day with t1 lights you arnt gona be killing a cruiser in a hurry if at all lol, t2 rockets you stand a chance but your slow enough to hit :(

rockets on a 20million isk inty?
youre better of using standard launchers and orbiting at 18km...

One of the advantages of using a Crow is the bonus to missile velocity, which includes rockets. If you max interceptor, missile projection and bombardment skills then you can hit with standard rockets from about 15km.

nice info here - 2 Questions
1.)I want to install some speed rigs - Is there a stack penalty ? 3 x 10% would be a nice boost.
2.) Can you tank say 2 gate sentries in low sec in a crow- if so at what speed are you ok ?
I'm to scrared to to test it out with the 90 mil of fittings on board :))

3 x Rocket Launcher IIs with T1 rockets
MWD, 20k Srcam, Cap Battery
2 x Inertial Stab, nano or cap mod
orbit at 11km, you dictate the fight with speed, rockets hit fine, you stay out of all but faction web range. DPS of rockets > than standards.
No setting is uber but it will own all the standard setups (faction web notwithstanding) - obviously this is no good as a dedicated tackler as you can't run the mwd and scram for long and there is no web.. but for PVP it works nice.
I tried it with cap injectors so I could run fury rockets but the rate was not enough to keep it going to the death.

1: niether the nanos or injector mention a stacking penaltay i belive it is like all hull upgrades are 1 for 1 with the bonuses and penaltys
2: am i fk trying lol, no doubt ccp have some uber leet T3 tracking bull **** exscuse up there sleave as to why you cant out run them / transverse them ect best ive seen is get your big ship to agro first and then you have time to tackle and shoot ect. also (but i cant condone as this is an exspliot but i have heared many people laugh about doing it) bumpping / poormans warp scram a inty get some speed on it and can bump a ship form been able to align to warp thus giving no agro. but as i say i wouldnt sugest it cos sooner or later there is going to be a way to log it were as atm there is no way short of vidioing it to prove you were bumped.

11km doesn't give you a huge amount of safety space. If pretty much anything gets you under 10km for one web activation you will be in a world of pain.
For short range I favour a rl II, (standard ammo), MSE II, 2 point and mwd setup. But as someone else says, a 20mil inty with 10 mils worth of mods is a bit daft to fly unless you have time to waste collecting new ships and a decent way of making isks.
I am not sharing my long range setup, sorry......

11k is what you set, you never fly this, at circa 5000kps you hit about 14 which is ample for rockets, and keeps you out of web.
the setup provides dps and is only limited by cap - as I said, it is not a tackler setup but designed to takeout Frigs, AFs, Destroyers and the odd, poorley fitted and unskilled crusier pilot.

T2 MWD Web (for keeping guys from racing back to the gate when they jumped into your bubble) 20k scram
PDU II Inertia Stab Cap power relay (that 23% one of course)

That's what I use, and never lost it PvP'ing solo (before without and now with rigs):
3x Arbalest standard - Gistii-A MWD - DB disruptor - Small electrochemical booster with 50's (as surprising it may seem...) - DB PDU - BCU II - Domination nano 2x Propellant Injection Vent
Need Adv. Weap Upgr lvl5 to fit. Last touch: your set of snakes + other speed-related hardwires.
As long you don't warp scram, there's no need to use the booster. When you use the booster, you can activate the disruptor during a total of 10 minutes with the charges you may hold in your cargo. And you will seldom disrupto something for 10 minutes anyhow. Typically this allows for 5 engagements.
With maxed out navigation skills, even when using only a LG snake set your MWD velocity is phenomenal, and when you get in gang with good support skills and gang mods, velocity becomes simply stellar.
On a side note, those who fit T2 launchers don't seem to realize that no T2 ammo flies faster than T1. Hence you won't be able to easely hit other pimped crows, and with slower targets, the difference is not worth nerfing your speed or cap recharge rate. The BCU II compenses that by hitting almost as hard as T2 without any drawback.
The only con of this setup is the need to rely on booster charges. But in a pimped crow, getting back to station from time to time isn't hard, since the only situation you fear are huginns/rapiers combined with a bubble or sphere.

Don¦t you get more power if you use 1 Micro aux powercore? and fit something better in the last low slot.

What is up with people trying to tank their Interceptors...
I use:
3 x Limos Standard
Catalyzed Cold-Gas Arcjet MWD 20km J5 scram Barton Cap Recharger
3 x Cap Power Relay
On this, the mwd and scram can run indefinitely, since the missiles use no cap. Even if you fit 3 fury missiles in the launchers, the recharge rate is still very good and lasts a long time. And, most importantly, I haven't spent 100mil fitting a 20mil, extremely fragile ship. Your speed is your tank, if you can't outrun it's shots you need to outrun the ship, if you can't do that you're dead anyway. For most things I just arrive in a belt at 100km, cross that 100km in a matter of seconds, scram the target and orbit at 16km with the mwd throwing missiles in. Apart from when i've been caught by another interceptor, it works every time. ------ ------

After messing about a bit more I tried:
3x Tech II rocket launchers
1x Gistii A MWD 1x Cap battery II 1x Fleeting 20km scram
2x Nanofibre 1x Named CPR
With Javelin this gives over 25km rockets with a higher dps than missiles, 4573 max speed and a cap that can be kept up almost indefinitely.
If you find a tanaris or something chasing you down switch the javelins out for standard rockets and race off at over 4900 (with low skills).
It could go faster with 2x overdrives but this setup gives bags of extra agilty and the option of staying in close doing 11k orbits and normal rockets at scary speeds.
Perhaps im just being cheap again :)

a) I don't have the CPU to fit the BCS II for some reason. Even with max skills and the lowest usage cap battery and scrambler. b) The cap runs dry in about 1.5 mins (with max skills again).
Might try:
3x Arba Missile Launchers
1x Fleeting Warp Scram 20km 1x Small Cap Booster (with 100's) 1x Gistii A MWD
1x MAPC 1x BCS II 1x Nanofibre
Over 4500 speed with low skills, perma cap as long as boost charges hold out (also means if you get drained you can hit a charge + MWD away). Expensive but that's usually the way with crows I guess

Cap relays kill shield boosting, not shield recharge. Unless you fit a shield booster, there's no side effect to using cap relays. Also, mapc+cap relay will give you more grid and more cap recharge than 2x power diags, and the shield amount/recharge rate from the power diags is negliable in such a small ship, especially without hardening (which would be pointless).

Mediums: 1x Pithii type A 1mn MWD 1x Dread Guistas Warp Disruptor 1x Dread Guistas / Domination Stasis Webbifier

Yeah, so Caldari suck at close range. Pity you'll never get there.

I use this setup, its not perfect but i run it in gangs:
3 x T2 Standard Launchers
1 x T2 1mn MWD 1 x Named 20km Warp Scrambler 1 x Named Webber
1 x T2 Small Armour Repper 1 x MAPC 1 x Named Capacitor Power Relays
It can run the mwd and scramble without running out of cap. I switch the mwd and use the webber once support arrives, or else i run outta cap. Solo it works ok but obviously damage is a problem against most ships, against other ceptors and frigs the standard launchers gives you alot more freedom to control things.
