Galatea has been successfully deployed o August 25 during an regular downtime.
With Galatea we see an iteration on sovereignty capture mechanics, new Designer SKINs, improved visual effects of utility modules, a new Dominix model, UI improvements and more. The full details of all changes and improvements are available in the Galatea patch notes.
Please post general feedback and discussions in this thread.
Report issues with the release on the PC in the Galatea issues thread.
For Mac users, there is, as always, a thread on the Macintosh forums for discussion of this release here.

Hey, not sure whether this is the right place to say this, but every time I try and download the update the game (via the launcher), it gets stuck at Creating Patch 0.0%.
Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

I recently switched to windows 10, and I have noticed that the progress bar is not updated unless
1) The launcher is NOT the window which has focus
2) OR(!) if the launcher window has focus I have to move my mouse around inside the window to get it to update the display.
Perhaps this is what is going on with some of the players. |

I can confirm this. It is not only true for the progress bar, but for the server status text, too. (at least it seems so to me) |

Confirmed, I'm having issues with the launcher freezing up to, won't go past "Creating patch 0.0%" then freezes up.
Task managers shows it as "Not Responding"

mine is still stuck on 0.0% I don't know what to do. I tried restarting the launcher several times, I restarted my PC, I tried waiting a long time, I even kicked the cat, (That helped a little for my frustration but damn that thing is fast. I kept missing and I swear she laughed at me. I need my Eve man...You don't understand I need it. Give it to me, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Come on man!!! ......oh wait it now says client is ready. YAYYYYYY OK time to get my daily eve fix....but first I need to say I'm sorry to Princess Fluffums. |

I have the same issue on both a Windows 8.1 and a Windows 10 machine. It seems that the launcher is starved for cycles unless the mouse is moving over it.
I think the underlying UI (Flash?) for the launcher needs a revamp so that it runs at full speed even when it doesn't have focus.

Had the same issues, got stuck at 60 %, then i opened Sysinternals Process Monitor to see whats going on and suddenly it was working. Also the Launcher is doing a horrible amount of registry queries everytime before it checks a file just to ask where the cachefolder is.
Also Windows 10 here. |

It finally works! Took my computer to work after it froze at 74% for 15minutes. Thankfully the boss is not here so I can get my fix before starting work.

After repeated failures with the same message, I walked away from the PC for a few minutes, then tried it again. No more error.
Sometimes you just need to get a cup of coffee for things to work right :)

In the "sovereignty" tab in solar system info clicking sovereign alliance's icon does nothing. I'm pretty sure it should lead to the alliance's info page, just like it does if you click TCU/IHub owners icon just below. |

The launcher seems broken for me, and I have limited bandwith so I am not that keen on constantly downloading the entire game..
EDIT: NVM.. I can see I am not the only one.. I havent used the launcher for a while since it really never worked for me. So I guess the questions still stands anyway. |

It's been like that for awhile for some of the people that use WINE instead of MS Windows.

That's because there are still programs written ages ago who will check for: Windows 95 and 98, and because the programmers were clueless they just check for: "Windows 9*". And then that program running on windows 9 would tell you your version is too old and not compatible. |

Why did you destroy one of the Eve icons? The new Domi is horrible. It looks absolutely generic, like some instantly forgettable American hotrod car (they all look the same).
I did not mind the Mega, the Caracal, the Moa (good riddance) but why the Potato?  Sacrilege! On a pirate's island, the designer would get the black spot, probably directly from the Bible's page with Ezekiel 25:17

Same here - flawless updating, even with me playing on a Win10 laptop and WiFi connection. I am not quite certain that CCP is to blame for all that is not well in this world...

Nice shiny chrome on the new Domi, but I noticed that even though the Sin uses the new model it's ISIS icon is still the old model. Then when I switched to High-Q shaders to fully appreciate it and I changed back to Med-Q shaders while the preview window was open the game crashed. |

I had to manually inject the patch into the launcher to get the game working. Prior to this, the repair tool did not fix the issue and leaving the launcher sit for a few hours didn't help.
Every time the launcher was opened it just sat at 0.0% and if you tried to close the launcher it would crash/not respond. |

General feedback huh?
A few suggestions.
1. Quit using TQ as your mass test server. That's Sisi's job.
2. Fix the Launcher to work reliably, correctly, without Grey Bar of EverWait, wiggle the mouse to get your update, or scrap it and find another way to login AND update. (client.exe doesn't update, only play game)
3. Learn the actual definition of 'successful' and operate your Icelandic to unwashed masses Dictionary from that fresh start.
4. Fix bugs sitting on the list for months (if not years) to earn some cute credits from your paying customer base.
5. Moar shiny ship SKINs are nice, but not a failsafe to cover neglected promises to your paying customer base. (bannable offense glitch exploit list in one easy to find place, customized icons, open the door alright already or put a wall over it, expanding on racial missions and lore, putting back in the Region 'color text' descriptions that were accidentally removed (Ha! thought it was forgotten and you slipped by!) cleaning up the anti-user-friendly Corporation window, same for Planetary Interaction, etc.)
6. Slow the FRAK down on this fast track release cycle when what is coming out is so full of bugs it's a chigger convention.
7. The reason for a change, 'cuz reasons, is not a reason for change. Change should be for the good, not just because shiny.
8. Better response time to issues that are popping up, in a tone that's at least polite to your paying customers. I get that Eve is a harsh cruel place of Everyone Hates Me. But that might not be the best method to use Out Of Game for customer service. Hate on me (and others) ingame, not as a company interacting with their paying playing base.
I'm one of the lucky ones, managed to download update and login without threatening bodily harm to the Launcher. That's not a promising thing, when the squeaky wheel is the one getting to eat rocks and blast rats. Seriously, CCP you have a problem. Whatever is going on in your Icelandic minds, might want to do a rescache.exe on your planning and 'Vision!' and clean out some seriously corrupted files inbound on your future.

- 200k ehp battleship enters site
- gets locked
- drifters fire twice ( not DD, just normal guns ), ~10 seconds
BOOM.
If I do the same in a Sansha HQ site, it takes a while to die... they don't instalock and instapop...

FC my launcher patched correctly 1st time no issues (you just have to be patient, if it seems stuck on creating patch 0% or downloading updates 100% you just have to wait... don't be impatient it will finish correctly if you just give it some time).
Also, biggest change:
"Ships fitted with an Entosis Link can no longer accelerate beyond 4000 m/s."

Honest to God, I left this game for an extended hiatus. At that time, there were 55-60K online at peak times. Came back when scholl was done. Now 25-30K at peaks. Is it any wonder with this type of frustrating situation over and over again? The root cause is small brained mammals.
So CODE ensures noobs rage quit. And small brained mammals running the patching tasks ensure the vets are frustrated and leave. Sounds like a solid business model. |

The multiple character training overlay is even more annoying than the popup, just let us switch which characters are training without relogging for five minutes already rather than coding this crap. Character training and tracking has always been a problem in EVE, Should be a separate utility that can once accessed give players access to ALL there characters on all accounts and the ability to make changes without logging in every account to do it.

PS: All new characters will now start with approximately 400,000 skillpoints rather than 50,000
This is a good start but should be worked out better and only apply to one character for every new account
