Leading an alliance is like a second all consuming job and not many have the drive to stick it out for long, I know after ten months I was sick of it. CYVOK and others like him are what make this game great as they are responsible for the drama that akes this game what it is. We're all players of EVE and some do more than just log on and get a few kills and missions, that drive to do more than to focus on oneself should not be rewarded by such posts as these. Am surprised that some posters here are defending Spirals linking of a private forum, if the leader of the largest alliance has had enough of the game then surely he is entitled to make his own announcement to the EVE community that his actions have influenced so much. It doesn't matter if he made mistakes or not, the person influenced the game and was a major player in the rich tapestry of player content that makes this game good. Did he get paid to do this, no of course not, he pays his sub just like you or me. So before supporting the actions of Spiral Junkie and the video maker just think of the impact you've made to this game and how it compares and then think if you'd devoted so much time to this game for others what your reward should be for deciding enough is enough. Cyvok if you're reading this then take Sel up on her offer, would be an honour to have someone with such motivation and drive in our ranks. Hans

In PvP games, someone is bound to win, and someone is bound to lose. That's the basic design of the system. Why do we get so worked up when it works the way it's designed to? If you have issues with BoB cheating, report them to CCP and we'll be banned if it's proven true. That's all there is to it. I see the problems as not that BoB gets special treatment (because we don't), but those that complain believe that they themselves ought to. Tinfoilhattery is weaksauce.

I'll credit that. With that being said, MAJOR MISTAKE posting that, and in several regards. For one thing it's as close to flaming and flame-baiting and trolling as you can get. I mean, gosh, it's not like all of the BOB / ASCN threads end up locked for exactly that anyway, so nothing new there really, but it takes a bit of drunk not to triple-verify the character setting before posting actually it. Take a good think, Spiral, on how to fix this, because it sure won't be easy, and I won't help you here. Also, everybody, leave the rest of EVE TV alone: it's not THEIR mistake. In German there's a concept called "Sippenhaftung" which doesn't translate into a single english word, but it means making a collective responsible for the misdeeds of one of their individuals. It is plenty wrong in most civilisations AND also illegal in most jurisdictions. I'd quote examples if real life politics weren't banned here, but feel free to research it. Last and NOT least: Cyvok, running an alliance is a massive effort, and you did a great job very likely rivalling the effort doing a TV show. It's not up to me to forgive you, but mistakes are part of being human. If they can't, heck man, you still left a speck on the star map. If you must, take some time off (some nice offers above, wish I'd get their likes for my mistakes), but don't give up: Don't give up having ideals to work for, and make them come true. You guys are no where special i have seen these conspiracy theories all over games before and i really can't hear it anymore. In 99% of the cases it is all nonsense you spout because you wish to feel special or important by knowing something others don't, but in fact you are just babbling without using your brain. Things like "molle is oveur" are some of the best comedy stuff i read online, but they are just soo off. Do you know how hard it is to maintain "secrets" ?? IF he was oveur someone would have leaked it already, because people just can't shut up. Every cheating by GM's Dev's or anyone else within the staff of a game is something you NEVER can keep secret if more then 1 person know about it. It will always end up in the public because of human nature. I have tracked down things like this before myself since i owned a free ultima online shard back then from 2002 to 2004 with a very healthy playerbase and aprox 200 to 300 people online at a time. And due to the need of volunteer GM's i invited exactly this problem. And you have no idea how much rumors of GM favorism came up each week. But at the end of the day when you check the logs(wich only i had access to) you find out the truth. I went after EACH of those rumors and only found "illegal things" 3 times during the 2 and 1/2 years i kept the server running for the public. For over 150 times someone posted "FACTS" about GM's or Dev's cheating i had 3 occasions where it actually happened. Just something to consider and think about here .... PS: props to Seleene who is apparently one of the few that understands what kind of people it takes to build something. The ability to motivate yourself to keep something running that long is RARE and something that has to be respected. --------------------------------- My dad can beat up your dad!**
