Going by his "ok, don't delete me. Read me and weep, giggle, /wrist" thread in COAD, Spiral has officially jumped the shark.
I hope to never see him on EVETV again.

If I ever see Spiral on EVETV again, I will be quite disappointed. I plan on sending a single, polite and reasoned eve-mail to Xyliana (the EVETV director) requesting that Spiral not be asked back for the next EVETV broadcast, and I advise others to do the same. Please refrain from sending multiple mails to Xyliana or flaming in said mails, she hasn't done anything wrong and we want her to know how we feel, not punish her with mail spam.

Give it a break, all he did was post the good bye before CYVOK got a chance...
Maybe it was CYVOK's story to tell but it doesn't really matter..
Sprial was a decent EveTV host and CYVOK's blunder & quiting has nothing to do with that. ☠-->-->--

I don't.
I do not care what the chars do off screen in topics unrelated to eve-tv or the tournament, because they are all personas from the game; spiral being the eve-radio presenter, ifni being the syndicate noob and so on.
Is he stupid for selecting the wrong character? Of course. Has he done something that an eve player has not done before? No. ASCN posts show up on an almost daily basis from bob.
So get a grip and if you want to whine pick something that's actually relevant to the broadcasts.

The point is that he did post information out of a private forum, it doesn't matter if that has been happening before or not. If it is done enough it doesn't become honourable (or legal) after a while. If SpiralJunkie will still be involved in EveTV in the future, I know I will not view it anymore and will encourage my friends to do so too.
If someone acts like this, there will be a feedback like this, it was his choice.

I don't see what his posting habit have to do with his hosting ability. Give the guy a break, just because he's an EVE-TV person doesn't mean he is required to follow some other set of rules. Let it go already. ---------- Eve is balanced: Caldari have to train Rails Minmatar have to train Missiles Gallente have to train Drones Amarr have to train Caldari |

I'll never watch a session of EveTV with him on it now. It's a shame to see CCP condone such conduct.......

To the whiners, STFU. This has nothing to do with his commentating skills or general on-screen charisma. Oh, and if ASCN enter the next tournament (assuming they're still around), you aren't going to watch if SJ is on there? That's really pathetic you know, refusing to support your team just because of one of the presenters.
I'm not in BoB, in fact, they beat my team in the finals this year so you can imagine that I'm not one of their very dearest supporters on the forums, but I respect them.
Therefore, excluding massive tinfoil hattery, you can assume that I'm a neutral party when I say
SPIRAL SHOULD STAY ♥

While he is still a regular Eve player whether he meant to post on an alt or not doesn't make any difference, it was still him (the person) who carried out the act.
You can be fairly sure he wouldn't be making any apology for what he did if he hadn't made the mistake of posting with his spiral character. He isn't sorry for what he did, he's sorry he got caught.
This will tarnish any credibilty when he comments on an alliance during the tournament. I don't think he deserves to be "fired" for it but he may get used to people not giving that much of a toss on his opinions of other alliances now that they'll see him firmly in the pro bob camp.
I have the body of a supermodel. I just can't remember where I left it.

Wow I never forum *****, but this to too priceless. I think CCP just needs to keep a better "Watchdog" eye on forum accounts that can directly expose them to pages and pages of /edit (nothing to see here) or flames against the entity CCP or its employee's. I was not fast enough to catch the actual "Screenshot", but SpiralMonkey aka CCP might want to take the next step and not have Dev forum accounts post personal issues.

Spiral has done a good job as host - he has made a mistake and has apologised. Yes it was a stupid and not-very-nice thing to do but it doesn't reflect on the excellent job he has done as the host of eve tv.
I'm not associated with ASCN or BoB (although I would prefer ASCN win the current conflict!) so as another person with no axe to grind either way I say Spiral should stay.

I quite enjoyed Spiraljunkies hosting, even though he never used any of my submitted info to further my political agenda or otherwise boost my ego.
Cyvok quitting over losing a titan I think we could all see coming, I don't think CCP has really taken into account just how much of a setback such an event would really be and needs to make sure those are only ever lost in actual combat and not in this ignominious way.

I don't think there's any grounds for dismissal - but as the community's support of Spiral was kinda shaky before this incident...I'm not sure he'll want to face everyone again. His face has probably only just stopped burning red.
But please, stop the lynch mob attitude. Its just ugly.
ASCN and allies: I fully understand why you feel angry at the guy...he did a pretty lame thing but don't lower your own standards of behaviour because of someone else's. It just doesn't help anyone, least of all yourselves. Just step back, take a deep breath, get behind your new allaince leader and focus on your task in hand.

Spiral's a great host for EveTV and the little drama in the CAOD forums doesn't change that fact in the slightest.
There's just a lot of drama queens riding around on their high horses at the moment, the fad will pass.

Edited by: Ifni on 13/12/2006 13:19:09 I'll post a more lengthy reply later. For now let me just say that I'm surprised by all this.
It's similar to boycotting Match of the Day because the host used to play for Manchester United; frankly ridiculous.
In the 1st tournament I wasn't in BOB, does that make me pro BOB? No. In the 2nd tournament I was in BOB, does that make me pro BOB? Maybe, but I wasn't exactly pimping BOB. In the 3rd tournament I wasn't in BOB, does that make me pro BOB? No. Quit beating on spiral and realise that something anti ASCN is not necessarily pro BOB.
Without the politics in EVE, the game wouldn't be what it is, and as such I fail to see why people are commenting about CCP endorsing this. Perhaps if people thought about this in depth rather than jumping on their high horses, there would be a more reasonable response.
I know spiral's main isn't in ASCN, so has anyone stopped to consider that maybe someone inside ASCN leaked this first?

Its ridiculous, just sour grapes.
Spiral Junky and the rest of the team were absolutely excellent on EveTV for the tournament and really improved the enjoyment for everyone.
Eve is about politics and intrigue and shady dealings and clearly everyone has their bias and funny ways. If I can forgive Spiral calling SF "roleplayers from the special village" (and I can ) then ASCN people should forgive his faux pa on using the wrong alt to out the Cyvok leaving post.
Just chill out and appreciate what you've got people.

This is a dumb remark for which there is no proof, and it is a shame that you even suggest it seriously. Typically the BoB response to any of these remarks. Oh, I forgot, you used to be in BoB.
ASCN members have the courtesy to have CYVOK bow out himself. Either he got it from an alt he got into ASCN first (Standard BoB-procedure), or he got it passed on from someone who isn't friendly to ASCN.
Do you really want to start a witch hunt where he got the info? Maybe you want to ask him to explain on the forums how he got this sh1t? That helps.
We don't need you around either if you continue like this.
