You know at the moment ASCN are sounding like a political party that just lost a General Election and are trying to get some petty revenge by seeking the resignation of incoming government ministers in some minor personal scandal.
Its sad.
The best revenge ASCN can get at this point is fighting well in your wars and future tournament teams. Stop trying to get CCP volunteers fired it demeans you.

This is a dumb remark for which there is no proof, and it is a shame that you even suggest it seriously. Typically the BoB response to any of these remarks. Oh, I forgot, you used to be in BoB.
ASCN members have the courtesy to have CYVOK bow out himself. Either he got it from an alt he got into ASCN first (Standard BoB-procedure), or he got it passed on from someone who isn't friendly to ASCN.
Do you really want to start a witch hunt where he got the info? Maybe you want to ask him to explain on the forums how he got this sh1t? That helps.

So it's a case of "Agree with me or you're out forever"? Your dislike for BOB is blinding you to what I'm saying. Part of the reason I'm no longer in BOB was due to my views on the BOB team at the 2nd tournament, I simply didn't follow the company line, so to speak.
You, and alot of your fellow ASCN pilots, seem intent on bashing spiral because he posted something. If it was a nameless/faceless alt you would scream the same, but there would be no one to direct it at, and yet, you seem more upset that someone stole CYVOK's post than the fact that he himself is leaving as the head of your alliance.
Personally, I've never met him. He's run ASCN for a long time, so I have to respect his abilities as a leader. Beyond that I simply don't care. What we spoke about on EVETV was simply forum ramblings. We threw bias towards everyone and some took it as it was meant to be taken (/me tickles Jasmine). Others, however, took it as a personal afront and started a rant and rage about it.
If you truly feel that I and my post have made life slightly more unbearable for you, then I suggest you come to lower Syndicate, where we can duke it out. Hell, I'll even send an invite to spiral. That way you can try to add some weight to your words.
Alternatively you can read what I posted, and realise that out of those posting, it is almost solely ASCN pilots who have a problem with his post.
You take what is offered. And that must sometimes be enough. |

IMO, i believe it will be hard to find sum1 to top spiraljunkie as the host of EvETV. He and the panel make the entire show entertaining and a great laugh.
So he made a mistake... in the end who cares? 2 weeks down the line an even bigger event will take place and the whole thing will be under the carpet, as thats what happens to EvE history.
IMO Keeping Spiral and Ifni on in all tournies sounds like a great idea to me, as they give familiaratily (damm that word is hard to spell). It will be a pain trying to get used to new presenters on the show, without having someone that we all kno and love (and have killed :P) on the panel.
Spiral made a mistake, give him a break, weve all done it, go whine in the countless threads already made. Leave EvETv Out of it!

The guy's a superb host. So what, if he has an alt that actually plays the game, like the rest of us do? Or that he made a slip just before clicking 'Post', like many of us have?
Please don't try to turn this into something it's not. If Eve TV ends up being affected by this, the only thing you guys will have achieved is made more enemies.

Nowhere does it say the host of a sportscasting show (which EvETV is in essence) must be neutral when it comes to the parties involved. They are however expected to be honest. Comment on the match using the information and events in front of you, and predict it to the best of your ability. As far as I could tell over the past tournaments, all of the commentators did so.
SJ was wrong not letting Cyvok or Gungan post the goodbye, but he had the personal character to admit he was wrong in even considering it, and even more wrong by following through, and apologized. That is a testiment to his honesty.
"But he meant to post with an alt!" You may reply. Yea well, you might go out and shoot someone today, but if you don't you cant be put on trial for it.
SJ has done an excellent job with his time at EvETV, and I hope he continues to host it. |

EvE-TV has proven themselves to not be neutral, so have many other parties in CCP. Okay you can say 'i support bob' but copying something from a PRIVATE board (no matter wether it be ASCN or Big Business #1 private boards) is ILLEGAL. not in eve, but in real life.
Normally you could get sued for that.. bob have done it before and because its a game everyone believes that is okay. Killing someone in a game is okay. its a game. Posting confidential infomation is NOT okay. Why? because its a REAL LIFE CRIME.
I dont condone criminals in eve, but accept thier presence. however, when someone takes a criminal action above and beyond the boundaries of a game, that is another matter.
On that, Spiral is probably very lucky noone gives a jack, and people wont call lawyers.
Just because noone is gonna get courts involved doenst mean that is okay.
On that front, sacking should be the FIRST option, and, far as i see it the least drastic.

Spiral and ifni are fantastic hosts of EveTv infact it wouldnt be the same without either of them.
Ok maybe Spiral shouldnt of posted under his EveTv/Eve-Radio char, but had he of posted under his main (which i can confirm is in neither BoB nor ASCN  ) would any of you be ranting? I think not.
I personally dont think the tourny was pro bob/ascn, nor do i think it was against bob/ascn, yes there was bob and ascn comments, but thats the current main topic when it comes to alliances! if it was say, two totally different alliances, im sure that would be commented on too!
People really need to think about what they would of done in that position, and what calling for spirals head would accheive!

Spiral is a great host. I can't tell you how much I like his work. From a professional point of view he made a terrible mistake. No need to put the tinfoil hat on. This is not about beeing biased or not, becaue everybody is. This is about beeing a solid and reliable professional at work.

Seriously, the people calling for Spiral's resignation are getting way out of hand, esp. the nut who says he wishes he could sue him in RL for "stealing confidential secrets". So he beat ASCN to the punch on the info leak? Maybe Cyvok or Gungankillr should have posted both announcements (internal and CAOD) at the same time to avoid this. If you're having problems with people getting on your TS and message boards, maybe you need to work on your security or not post critical stuff on there until you fix your security issues.
SpiralJunkie is a good host and I look forward to hearing his amusing and sometimes inane comments on the next EveTv showing. Hell, he and his son AndrewGunn should even wear matching outfits next time. It would be soooooo cute!

To be honest the only commentator I found to be remotly unbiased (beside Andrew ;)) was Farjung, I think he did a superb job keeping his personal views out of the broadcast (Great job on beating ASCN! x 10) and not hyping the BoB propaganda machine every chance he got, even though.... he IS in BoB... so take a page from his book, Ifni and change your gameplan accordingly

Two things.
First, Spiral hasn't been involved with Eve Radio for some time now along with the other former DJ's at EveTV. You know, Xyliana, Xod, Condor etc. Eve Radio and EveTV have nothing to do with eachother.
Second, he made a mistake. Big deal. Get over it.
If nearly anybody else had made the post there would be no uproar of this level. It's only happened because he's know as the face of EveTV. A nice, easy target for the hatemongers in our depraved little community to hop on the bandwagon and crucify.
Poor form it might have been but he doesn't deserve the treatment he's been getting.

Personally, I thought he was already the weakest part of the broadcast. I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me, but I've expressed my opinion that I don't think he should return, and I haven't seen anything that makes me change that opinion, although I'm glad he apologized.
I think Spiral is a good radio host, but that hosting EVE TV is outside of his extensive pool of talents.

Sports Commentators usually had alot of involvement and often even played for previous clubs - They'll discuss teams strengths/weakness and are chosen because of their expert knowledge, not because of impartiality.
Are they unbiased ? heck no, quite often you'll hear them joking about rooting for their favorite teams.
Why are you trying to hold SJ to standards that aren't even seen on prime time sports TV?
