Edited by: Elliot Reid on 14/12/2006 12:16:56 I like Gatorade, drank loads of it last time I was on holiday in the US. As for beef jerky I have a good idea what it is but don't like the sound of it.
Black pudding, toad in the hole, shepherds pie, bubble and squeak, dogs vomit and mushy peas. Do you know what they are _______________________________

Gatorade's that funky sports drink that gets absorbed faster into your system than water, and so according to the ads and studies I've seen, is better when you're active, or just had a workout.
Beek jerky's that smoked beef slices, flavored and stuff, and can be eaten like potato chips, but be warned, its jerky beef. I know, I had it slap my face trying to tear off a bite when it came loose out of my hand and WHAM! Right into the eye.
Now I'm scared of jerky stuff

What sort of channels/times? I mean, you can see anything if you watch the right channels, but Sky One, one of the biggest general entertainment channels there is (since I assume that's what you are referring to), censors things beyond belief during the day, and tends to forget to show the uncut versions at night too. But that's more incompetence and looking for an easy life than actually caring about the content . ----------

Edited by: Mar Idoun on 14/12/2006 17:08:12 cocacola is too old to have its name processed by computer. I think it's more a product of agressive advertising in every corner of the world for such a long time that has made coke so recognizable.
and a lot of americans, in my area at least know what sheperds pie, toad in the hole and some others are. Bubbles and squeak is a lot like what we call hash, a lot people it for breakfast but there's more of a meat element to it, usually cornedbeef because it's cheap i guess. Shepard's pie is probably the best dish ever created on this earth.

The difference in cultures, even within the U.S. are astounding. I've lived in California and Colorado, far enough away from eachother that my experience lead me to believe most of the U.S. was not much different. Then I spent some time in the Midwest (Minnesota) and East Coast (Connecticut) and I continually had to remind myself that I was indeed in the same country. I think the two images of the U.S. that most of the world pictures, unfortunately, are perverted stereotypes of Texans and Southern Californians. People write us off as ignorant, gluttonous savages in most cases. It saddens me that most of the world has one idea of the U.S. and it's usually negative.

I only heard about Marmite and Bovril when I was in Shinra.
Having lived in three countries, and in the US currently, there are a few things I miss that I cant seem to get in Boston:
1. Crush (an orange soda brand) 2. Galaxy Ripple (heard they only make them in the middle east now) 3. Can't remember the name, it was a chocolate egg with some swiss boy on it, also came with a toy of sorts, white rapping with orange base.

when i went to Cali once(im from CT) i found atleast the people in sanfran seem more laid back, here in CT everyone seems in so much of a rush. but my stereotype of Socal is constant sun and people who dont know what snow or rain is. and yes i ROFL at video of the southern states when they get an inch of snow and people slide everywhere and towns close for weather i dont even turn my 4wd on for.
