The facts are as some have already said, you can get warp scrambled in a mission and the only warning that you get is the pop up window similar to a damage alert telling you that X is trying to warp scramble you. As this will get insta spammed out by three dozen damage messages you have no chance to know your scrambled as there is currently no graphical representation of warp scrambling.
The fact of the matter is that once upon a time having 3k players online at once was a ground breaking feat now we regularly have 30k plus. Give the fact of a recent content release its obvious to 99% of morons that minor non-stuck non-account petitions are going to be a lower priority.
Further, you may well have a case for reimbursment as i mentioned before there has been a sever degradation in server stability lately which they are working on. If the records show that your loss occured during such a period then its is very likely you will get back your ship and any destroyd mods.
You simply must just be patient. Failing that go and play WoW or SWG and check out their petiton response times.
I vote lock this flame bait thread.

How long did it lag for when you first warped in? Must have been ages for you to lose 50% shields and then the rest so quickly.
A Raven should be able to tank a level 3 all day, seeing as my ferox can tank every single level 3 easily.

Wow, just when i thought i was in a game filled with mature adults, i read this thread and realise how wrong i am. Most of the people replying in here have the maturity of 13 year olds. To the op, i agree. The wait is stupid. But unfortunately its the way it is. I'm also into my third week of a similar position.

Let me educate you my dear "!" Shield hardners take a bit to get up to speed....and you should of have your shield booster blazing soon as you enter warp. If you had then you would still be flying that Raven your so ****ed off about loseing.
Second thing...a year ago. I had no problem with any of the missions flying techI ships with Tech I gear.

If this were any other MMO board this thread would have been muzzled long ago. Why hasn't it? Because CCP actually gives a frack about what you think of its customer service.
Want the opportunity to have your say? The fact the thread hasn't been balled up and tossed in the bitbucket means someone's listening. So have your say, and try to do it constructively.

As far as him insuring his ships, do people not remember a time where you didn't get 50% insurance by default? No, I'm sure the OP might not since he probably created his account recently, but there used to be a time where you didn't get any payout at all.
Is the petition still open in your petition window? If so, try to be patient (I realize it's been a long time already). I'm sure they're swamped after Revelations and will get to yours in due time.
Somewhere there's got to be someone who runs a report that says "x amount of petitions have been sitting in the queue for over y amount of weeks, time to escalate their priorities". I hope. :)

The *snip*s have been a bit biased and unnessessary if you ask me, but you should not do that as that would mean discussing forum moderation in the open.
The loss probably was not about being scambled, but an old reanimated client malfunction that often happens when there's 'some' lag and server problems around. Luckily the server logs used to show that there's a problem (probably through missing client input).

EVEN IF I HAD A FEW HUNDRED MILLION ISK LAYING AROUND I WOULD STILL BE IN THE SAME POSITION.
My ship was blown up by what I clearly believe is a game error that did not originate on my side. Consequently I was deprived of said vehicle due to reasons outside of the games rules.
So I petition it...and it takes WEEKS to respond.
That is my gripe. That is a failure of customer service, no matter how you try to rationalize it.
If my Cable went out for two weeks while the cable company decided whether or not they were going to fix it I'd be pretty miffed at them too. If I was at a restaurant and they took two HOURS much less two weeks trying to decide whether or not to give me my money back or replace the dish I would be furious.
This coddling of tech support... this... PITY we extend them has got to stop.
If CCP is simply incapable of providing adequate customer service they should notify people that their game is deficient in that regard.

Be patient. I too lost a Raven to post-patch woes (dual-core CTDing in my case), and they just reimbursed it yesterday (this was after over 2 weeks like you are saying). After the patch the GMs get hit with thousands and thousands of petitions, so it takes a lot longer to reply. In normal times I think reimbursements are usually handled in 2-3 days, but after patches you will always get very slow response. My best advice is to NOT run missions in the day of a patch, the day after, and possibly not even the day after that. Wait to see what kinds of problems there are and lag issues sorted out etc before jumping into dangerous situations (yes, I'm guilty of ignoring my own advice and paid for it with a T2 fitted Raven loss - of which most equipment could not be returned b/c the NPCs blew up my wreck and the GMs cant give that equip back).

Incorrect. Player item restoral is one of the cornerstones of MMO customer service. Every major MMO has an internal item restoral policy. Most are based on a checklist type system, others are based on character flagging. Two that come to mind are SOE's E.Q. with the "benefit of the doubt" for item restoration, and WoW with character flagging for the same. Granted those are usually rollbacks instead of outright giving the character the item... but the effect is still the same.
While I agree that Eve is far from mainstream, and I hate joining it to the two above mentioned games...there have to be similar policies in place. Errors and lag *do* happen, and the system has to compensate for that.

had a petition in for the loss of 1.3b thx to a server bug nub gm whimped me off and petition ignored for over a month (by this time we`re allready 2 months from the incident) last resort, i made a treath here on the forums
unbelievable, i had a senior gm working on my petition 5 hours after making the post, also was taking his time and activly replying to my questions within hours

It's not a free upgrade. It's without extra charges... I don't have to pay extra to play it but I do have to pay, I also don't have the option to NOT choose for the upgrade.

Frankly speaking, CCP customer service is probably the BEST customer service for a MMO I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I would say the $15/month pays for that ALONE.

You don't get it, if you'd insured it you could simply buy another one and move on with your life. If you had a few hundred million ISK laying around, losing one ship wouldn't cause you so much stress since you'd have others. You however scrounged and used your last monies to buy this ship and now that you lost it you can't do anything else.
It's also not been proven that this was "clearly ... a game error that did not originate on your side". Did you try to tank at all? Did you check if you were scrambled? Webbed? Where did you try to warp to? Somewhere behind you, aligned already? Sounds like you just sat there smashing Warp thinking that's all you had to do. What ships were around you, any T2 frigs? I'm not convinced it's a game bug, but good luck anyway.
As for the wait, the reason you're waiting weeks is because of players that petition every single ship loss. Someone makes a mistake, puts their only ship into a situation where they can lose it and then, due to whatever reason, loose it. So rather than moving on, taking some responsibility for a loss and just getting a new ship they petition every lost ship for whatever the reason. That adds up to THOUSANDS of petitions. Each and every one needs to be throughly researched to determine if it was a game bug or not. That's why reimbursements take weeks.
Don't put yourself in a situation where losing a ship will cripple you, and you'll not find yourself angry for weeks because you don't have a ship. Only fly what you can afford to lose. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | CCG Card Lookup |
