Very nice work!
Guess I can scrap the release of JSig now, lol.
Just one small comment for now:
Quote:You can create a fresh CCP API Key for registration Don't. They are keys, not passports. Use the SSO for that. API key registration is the door through which people infiltrate certain other mapping tools... |

Hi Kato's Pete, unfortunatelly I don-¦t have any experience with Win Servers. I have set up a "user driven" wiki that should help you settings things up.
Im aware of multiple installations, running on Nginx or Apache without significant problems. Win-Server is not currently not supported, sorry. If you get it to work, please share your experience. I-¦m interested.

Hey, this looks really awesome! Can't wait to try it out and see how everything works.
I do have one question though, what kind of API key does this program require? The link in the API key page just links to the API key management website, instead of linking it to a specific access mask that would otherwise give you the right key links immediately.
Also, any change that your program will be updated any time soon to the new eve login page that automatically authorizes your info and puts in the correct information from Eve Online? That would be a big help.
I dont know if this is important or not, but i have chickens.....

An access mask of "0" is fine for now. The required Corp/Ally information is always present and can-¦t be disabled. So you can leave all "checkboxes" empty for a new key.
Switching the login process to the SSO is currently in progress. But SSO login will be an "optional" login method.

Refer to this issue and stack overflow.
You might have to update from MySQL 5.5.x to 5.6.5 as my server had a similar issue. Allows multiple 'ON UPDATE' and 'DEFAULT' timestamp fields to be present from 5.6.5 onwards. This could help!
P.S Great work Exodus, following this project regularly |

That-¦s right! This is just a temporary solution until the "forget password" function is ready :) . I got some mails from users who forget their PW. The PW itselfe is saved encrypted, so I-¦m unable to re-send a password. Therefore i made this "reminder" E-Mail with your credentials.

Announcement:
It looks like we are almost "bug free" :) More than 50 Issues have been fixed within the last 10 beta releases (GitHub) and a lot new features have been implemented since the first beta. More than 15 external installations are runnung and thanks to all the beta testers again!
Now it`s time to step forward and get even more professional ;) . I`m about to release the first "release candidate" at the end of 2015. As mentioned before, this RC1 is not backwards compatible because most of the DB structure was re-designed from ground up. In addition to that we move from a shared-managed server (with limited performance) into a new VPS with new domain. - Yeah it is a "*.space" domain ;) WTF
The changes in detail:
current new URL https://www.pathfinder.exodus4d.de https://www.pathfinder-w.space Protocol HTTPS/1.1 HTTPS/2 Server Apache 2.0 Nginx 1.9 PHP 5.5.26 7.0.0 Database MySql 5.6 MariaDB 10.1.9
This will of course add Nginx support to pathfinder and support for MariaDB. But you can still use your current environment for the next versions. But there are also some very important software changes coming, you should know of:
- The *.sql dump will be removed from the repo. Instead of this, there is a brand new database bootstrapping and update dashboard available more info. This will setup all required tables by ther model classes automatically. This is used for further table updated/index changes,... as well
- This dashboard also shows and compares your current setup with the requirements, compare version numbers and will help you to set up everything correct
More information coming soon ;)

Also, any chance to have an "easy installer"? I don't mean a damn clickme.exe but at least something that doesn't require setting up a db, a web server and maintain them? Or at the very least a wiki with detailed informations and possibly something preset for general use that people can tweak if they want but that can kinda work out of the box? |

As i said, there is an auto-installer, for the DB, coming with the next release. If you have some kind of "shared-hosting-webspace", you should not care about web server/DB config. All you need (for Apache) is the *.htaccess in your /www/root dir which is part of the repo. For Nginx users, I-¦ll add a server config to the repo as well. But you still need some knowledge about setting up CronJobs etc.
Haffsol wrote:[...]Or at the very least a wiki with detailed informations and possibly something preset for general use that people can tweak if they want but that can kinda work out of the box?
A wiki and installation guide is already available here. I would recommend wait for the upcoming RC. The installation process will become much simpler. Check out the wiki for the "new" installation process when it is released.

Although I also would like to request an SSO type of login style instead of the whole "create your own user with an api" thingie. That is kinda outdated (no offense).

It is encrypted by a "BLOWFISH to hash" algorythm (wiki). Probably one of the strongest and most secure ways to encrypt in real time. The excrypt function is of cause not written by myselfe. you need a "salt" generated out of the users PW to de-crypt the PW.
- Framework bCrypt (doku) - Code base for DB storing (set_password();) L160 - Code base for user verification (verifyUser();) L203
IMPORTANT: Even if the PW is save, there is NO guarantee that Intel is 100% save! This is just a general warning. Nobody can guarantee, that the code-base is not changed or manipulated on any third party installation. -> If someone has access to the server/code, manipuattion is not a problem! This counts for any software in the world.

v.1.0.0RC1 deployed (issues):
This is not realy a "feature release". This is the largest "technical update" since first BETA. The Setup process has changed completely. DB-Tables/Columns/Indexes/Keys/... are now automatically generated by their Model-Classes. This will help to automatically update your third-party installation on further releases (very cool!). It includes a full "DB-diff ", "update scan" and comes with a new admin UI (Setup Dashboard).
I moved my installation from a Shared-Hoster to a brand new and dedicated VPS environment, running Nginx v1.9.9 and PHP v7.0.2. We also switched to MariaDB v10.1.10.
- NEW project URL (https://www.pathfinder-w.space) (moved from "shared hoster" to VPS) - NEW: Setup Dashboard screenshot (#6) -- New install/update process -> check the wiki -- Visual UI for DB setup and configuration "www.[YOUR_DOMAIN]/setup" (new route added) -- DB tables are automatically created out of their model classes -- PHP and MySQL settings are checked automatically -- DB update will be easy for upcoming releases (full DB diff/update functions) -- Indexes/Unique Keys are automatically set and named correctly -- Foreign-key-constraints are automatically set -- Basic Configuration is shown on the dashbaord (see pathfinder.ini) -- No "crtitical" DB functions on this board (you cant break/delete anything) - NEW: Added support for Nginx Servers (v.1.9.9) - NEW: Added support for PHP v.7.0.2 - NEW: Added support for MariaDB (v.10.1.10) - NEW: Added "favicons" folder to project - NEW: Added "lazyloading" for images (login page) (reduced page load time) - NEW: Added "laziloading" for Youtube videos (login page)(reduced page load time) - NEW: Added *.gz compression for static sources (*.js/*.css) to Gulp "production" build-task (reduced page load time) - NEW: Added GitHub Developer API support (Version history available on Login page) - NEW: Added "Youtube" verification code to index.html - Changed DB-column naming for map sharing settings ("sharing" -> "shared") - Changed deprecated SVG animation bars into CSS animation keyframes - Improved *.ini config file loading (added include instead of loading each file) - Moved DB connection credentials into new "environment.ini" - Updated "readme.me" - Updated project wiki (installation guide) - Updated main SVG map drawing lib jsPlumb (v1.7.6 -> v2.0.5) - Updated IconFont "FontAwesome" (v4.4.0 -> v4.5.0) - Removed registration mail (#80) - Fixed redirect (#79) - Fixed IGB-Header bug on Nginx servers - Fixed "Shatterd Wormhole mapping" (#73) - Fixed "Connection sometimes deletes" (#78)
Next steps:
- Implementing CCPs SSO - Implementing Ship-tracking by CREST - Dropping IGB support - This gives us the chance to add WebWorker support which will increase the performance massively!

When a user tries to register, pathfinder is doing a MX lookup on the email address. This prevents users with email addresses without MX records from registering.
See RFC 5321 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5321#section-5.1) for delivery of email without MX record, or find a TL ; DR at wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MX_record#History_of_fallback_to_address_record). |

Or, if not yet, that it is a planned feature in the future, I can get behind that all the way to Hek and back. Or possibly adding a system nickname that is displayed with parenthesis (although that sounds more code crazy to me than just renaming the system, but I'm a pleb); something so we don't have to name our corporate bookmarks J######.
Which, this gives me an idea; is it possible to have a list of "known holes" with names that automatically update if we connect to them? So that, say we roll into the famous Nova, I'd like to know its Nova without having to look it up (just an example). Just wondering aloud without any frame of reference.
it looks amazing and the development process is spectacular. We look forward to putting Pathfinder to great use!

I gave pathfinder a try and while it looks really nice I wish you can make the system boxes bigger. Had an issue where it's really hard to grab the box to move it or even drag the connection vines out. In fact now when I look at it, everything needs to be larger. Signature list is so tiny you need to really focus on it when you want to see info.
It's really responsive in browser but really sluggish in IGB. This is the biggest issue I have atm.
There are no sig filters for the time when i want to hide anomalies.
Following two things combined together make sig update very hard. You basically need to compare every single sig by hand and click on each one you want to delete individually. Where most of us are used to copy all the sigs in mass sig reader and marking "delete missing sigs" for the list to update. New ones appear, old one delete and one with data in them stay intact.
You can overwrite the scanned sig with pasting empty one over it. This is reported/requested already here https://github.com/exodus4d/pathfinder/issues/81
There is no option to delete the sigs not in clipboard table when you add multiple sigs Requested here https://github.com/exodus4d/pathfinder/issues/95
I also had some API reading errors but page refresh solved it.
Oh and there is no enemy POS intel anywhere. It's really good if we can add that for each system so everyone in corp can access it straight from there.
In the end I want to say great job with Pathfinder, it really looks promising! |

The fact that I cant add out of corp players to a corp map is crushing this tool for me everything else is great. Should implement like tripwire. If you are logged in with a corp api then it tracks your location and you can see corp map, even if the character your logged in as is not in corp.
I can log in with my corp account but then it doesnt track my player location, just says no player found |

Hello, you can start it with
docker run -p 80:80 -e HOSTNAME=http://HOSTNAME -e SSO_CCP_CLIENT_ID=CLIENTID -e SSO_CCP_SECRET_KEY=SECRETKEY vivianmeally/pathfinder
Before run, you need to create a application under https://developers.eveonline.com/applications CALLBACK_URL is http://HOSTNAME/sso/callbackAuthorization
if you pass -v /database:/var/lib/mysql to it, you can safe the db to a host
With the next release of Pathfinder, Exodus 4D will change env variables, and i will make use of it in next release too. |

Cheers on the 1.0 release Exodus!
I ran into a problem during the database bootstrap, all the checks pass but the "setup tables" button simply refreshes and doesn't actually touch the database
some basic info on the setup:
FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE nginx 1.10.1 php 5.6.22 running as php-fpm pcre 8.38 mariadb 10.1.14
I also noticed visiting the main page creates a sessions table, so clearly the database connection is working.
Can anyone provide a mysqldump with just the tables? |

I have some exported maps (JSON files) for some 0.0 regions. Those can be imported and used as a map. They are not public available yet. But I could add an option (select) with some region maps in future.
Krovos wrote:Is there a way to share a map between an alliance? I only see an option to be "private" or "corporate."
You can share "alliance" maps with other "alliances". But you can-¦t share "corporation" maps with "alliances" or "characters". The map type (which can be changed at any time) is responsible for the share options.
Lilly Harkon wrote:Short question: is there the possibility to re-import all existing signatures to check for new one? Unfortunately pathfinder overwirtes scanned sigs with an unscanned "import"
Yes, with the current release v1.1.1 you can auto-check for new signatures.

Trying to migrate from Siggy I have a few issues:
1. When I want to select a WH type for a hole going out of Thera I can only select K162 types. Why? 2. It does not seem to be possible to link a system on the map to a sig, like you can in siggy. In siggy if I edit a signature I can link it to the system on the map so when I delete one, it automatically deletes the other. I can't find a way to do it in Pathfinder. 3. Neither can I find a way to resize/order the different areas in pathfinder, so it takes up way more screenspace than I would like it to and shows information that is unimportant to me above information that would be important. |

I just had to do an update via git pull for the app directory. It's currently not documented.
ensure to back up your environment.ini and any config files altered before the pull.
Feature request:
- Allow for a pull of information from eve scout with active thera connections
- Admin control to set specific lock outs of functions to only a select few members for security reasons (already mentioned via slack)

Heya mate.
Any chance of getting the wandering holes added to Pathfinder? If we get a wandering C2 (D382) from our C2, we don't have the option to mark it as such. Same with other holes. I have noticed if it is not the statics or a frigate hole, you can't mark it.
This is an example of such as mentioned above. Note, no ability to mark the C2 wandering hole that has spawned except by typing in the description.
It is the same with any system. Unless it is the static, any wandering wormhole is unable to be marked via drop down.
I'm not sure if this helps, but here is a list of all the wormholes.
Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

Pathfinder is a pretty nice tool and I really like it. Just had a suggestion though in regards to active systems for updating sigs.
For k-space, the only way to select new systems is to use the map stargate or all setting for the map. This causes the map to get messy quickly with unneeded links between kspace systems. Would it be possible to autoselect the active system on jump in instead of having to use stargate mapping and select each new system when jumping? |

I got some diffculties setting up pathfinder on a subdirectory. I set it all up according to this but it still wont work a 100%. Pathfinder is set up at [my-Domain].com/pathfinder. Things I tried in the environment.ini.
- Setting BASE to /pathfinder --> Loads the HTML template correctly. All other assets (scripts, images and icons) it tries to load from [my-domain].com/pathfinderpublic. I found a way around by editing the templates but that seems way to ugly and inefficient. Maybe adding a "/" to the end of the @BASE but i have no idea where to put that.
- Setting BASE to /pathfinder/ -->Loads everything correctly but lands on the pathfinder 404 error page. Same result when leaving the the BASE blank and adding /pathfinder/ to the URL.
- Setting RewriteBase to pathfinder/ --> Resulted in Error 500 so i decided to leave it alone.
Php 5.6 Apache2
It worked when i used it on [my-domain].com. I symlinked the pathfinder directory in the DocumentRoot, maybe its because of that. |

I think Pathfinder has a ton of promise. The UX is gorgeous and the availability of information is excellent. I have used Siggy and Vippy and this is a superior tool. That said it is just not ready for active use. There are too many little annoying issues that drive many people (particularly vets) nuts. I am a developer and understand it is a beta product. At some point though if the expectation is for people to actively use it the beta label needs to come off and it needs to be treated and supported like a real service. The site has been down for over 24 hours and that is a deal breaker for our corp. Some simple things that need addressing:
1) Snap back - sometimes you have to drag and drop a system multiple times for it to stop moving back to its previous location 2) System renaming - you often have to rename it several times for the new name to stick 3) I would love the ability to mark a hole and have some visual representation of it appear without having to jump into it |

Not sure why it's resetting your map. Are you sure your database is configured correctly and it's able to record the x/y for the plot?
As for the 'adding other people', they need to subscribe first. Once they are in, I had to do the following;
select id,name,shared from corporation;
Where shared is 0, change it to a 1
Also, update the pathfinder.ini so that you have say:
[PATHFINDER.MAP.CORPORATION] LIFETIME = 99999 MAX_COUNT = 99 MAX_SHARED = 99
[PATHFINDER.MAP.ALLIANCE] LIFETIME = 99999 MAX_COUNT = 99 MAX_SHARED = 99

As far as hosting goes, I have a couple of questions as I am looking into moving my organization over to an in-house solution, or at least trying it to test its feasibility.
1. What sort of bandwidth does this application use when its running and servicing clients? 2. Would you be willing to share with us how much bandwidth you're using to service the whole of Eve through your pathfinder.w-space? 3. How much storage space does your application take?
I've looked through your github and I cannot find anything mentioning the above stuff, if you don't have any answers you might want to collect some usage metrics on your own stuff just so you can optimize and add it to your list of requirements. Such like, X amount of disk space; Y amount of bandwidth per Z amount of expected users, maps, etc.
Just a couple of questions and suggestions, we're loving Pathfinder and we couldn't think to use anything else. It's the glue that holds our organization together!

You should be able to build your own, as far as I know. There wouldn't be any pre-made maps, again, as far as I know. It wouldn't be too difficult, just add say, your home system or whatever. Put it somewhere, right click - lock it, then right click - add system, and start adding all the systems connected to each other via jump bridges or gates or w/e. Then lock everything. That way you can custom design the way you want it all laid out.
Doing it like this then you'd just update each system after you scan it, always remembering to click delete old signatures, and boom. Constantly up to date map, especially if you share it with a corp, or other people, so you can have a community effort of keeping your area up to date.

Thanks for the help, so far doing it and looking good, but the map size is too small to hold a region, does anyone know if there is a way to increase the vertical size of the map?

Vertically I do not know of a way to increase the size. If anyone knows if it is a possibility, or if it is hard coded, that would be pretty sweet to know. My group has two "home systems" and their chains barely fit when we go deeper. Of course it seems to go pretty far horizontally, so that may be the only solution.
Rezard, instead of potentially copying the eve map or any other map out there, why not design your own? Obviously you have to stay faithful to the star gates and jump bridges you may have, but you could come up with your own design for the map that fits it all nicely in the wide (but short) map field that pathfinder gives us. You may have to twist some systems around and you may have bridges and star gate paths crossing over one another, but so long as everything fits and makes some sort of sense, you can make really anything work with enough effort and patience.

I went and did a search on my computer and I can't even find the file on it. Any ideas on what I did wrong? Am I even approching the problem correctly? Thank you for your time in advance. |

Shattered holes, being relatively new additions, aren't propagated to a lot of the databases, so it only makes sense that Pathfinder doesn't have them all. They're all still being documented by the player base, as you know nearly all wormhole knowledge is player discovered. When Pathfinder first came out it had no shattered in it that that we could see; but as time has gone on more and more have been added to where it's about 50/50 now whether or not it'll be called a shattered in website.
As to where they are stored, I don't know. I'd love to know, because I have my own spreadsheets I want to update with the newest info!

Why do I get "Access Denied - Character [name] is not authorized to log in" when clicking the "Log in with EVE Online" button? |
