I dont know if anyone else as experienced this but some planets i pass seem to have strange glitching issues at the bottom of them, assuming that this is only a "cosmetic" issue will we be seeing this graphical error corrected in the near future?

I have something similar with ringed planets, where the ring sections that should be obscured by the planet can be seen through it (only occurs with a few planets though).

It has to be a client bug. I noticed it was happening on the systems being used for the Alliance tournament as well.

Yep, get the obsured rings, the patchy planets and can now see a flickering sun THROUGH planets - very annoying!
Use different comps to play EVE, using both Radion and nVidia cards, so must be client bug.

Edited by: Idami Raptor on 18/12/2006 11:55:32 Yar, is some kind of occlusion bug. Ringed planets, the rings sometimes kinda show through the planet. Stars sometimes show through any planet. Not constantly, it kinda alternates between showing and not showing, so fast that it flickers. Edges of shadows on planets sometimes, but not all the time, display a similar effect.
I'll try to grab a screenie later.
Edit: GeForce 6800gts in SLI mode, with AA and AF forced on via drivers, btw. Forceware 93.71. Post yer vidcard and driver version at least to be most helpful!

I get the glitches with ringed planets aswell.
Running Nvidia on ASUS 8800GTX with 97.44 drivers, was teh same issue with the driver prior to that aswell (can't recall number on it.)

Yup, I've noticed this.
But also, has anyone noticed that the sun model no longer exists? Pre-Kali, you could warp to a sun and see a giant fiery ball, with solar flares bursting from it. Now it looks the same from 20 AU as it does from 20m.

I've got the problem with buggy planet shadows and ringed plantes too.
Funnily enough, my gfx card, ATi Radeon X300 SE (EVE was RMR then) ran it fine, but now my X1950XTX has the glitches. *cry*
