Whatever you have to do you can put off until tomorrow. You can go anywhere: stationside, planetside, in somebody else's ship, but you can't fly with a pod. You've got 24 hours without anything you have to do, anybody you need to talk to, and whatever is in your wallet. You're not limited by your faction standings. Where do you go and what do you do?

I'd like to go hiking in the Kalaakiota peaks again. I went there for a long weekend during the liberation and had a wonderful time, but haven't been back since the battle.

I would go meet my family, my mother in particular. It has been years I've seen her in person... I wonder what she would say, if what I've become would actually be tangible to her. Of course we have talked, but even the finest of holopresence technology can not convey ... certain presence. |

There is nothing that out of pod can bring me that would compare to being in pod. Now, if I could land and visit those unexplored fringe worlds, that is another matter.
So what would I do if I was out of pod? Same as in pod. Go places and see thing never before seen.

Ever think of maybe putting the combat aside for awhile Kimmy? A few days off does a girl some good.
I'd probably end up hanging out with my mainline crew, game nights are a fun regular event for us, and my head engineer is surprisingly good at Mindclash.

Okay....
Right, let's try this. You could use text system to convey your messages. You can also try the Broca's Area, that's the part of the brain that regulates speech, implant to convey words straight from the mind to an external communicator.
Just don't overuse it. You don't want to end up like me. I usually speak very slowly with a very significant rasp after over-reliance on that implant to communicate to crew, staff and over the Galnet from the confines of my pod.

I'd do what I do most of the time those days.
I'd park my ship cloaked somewhere in the forsaken wormhole system I happen to be in, and go down to the fourth planet. Maybe with a companion to protect me, or alone.
A small modular cargo terminal I own sits on the plain near the large inner sea. I'd fly around or drive something without a cabin or canopy, as far as possible from the base. Take a walk in the forest, or climb a mountain. Observe the alien life. Or maybe go to the beach, surfing or diving. Something may try to kill me, but I really don't care, and if I kill it, I'll eat it instead. Though most local life forms taste like plastic or worse.
Then the night comes and the sky is filled with the faint ambient glow of the nebula. It is barely seen with naked eyes, but it is there. I listen to the clicks, howls and screeches in the alien bush and try to find New Eden. It takes a ship computer to find it from 1200 LY away, so I can't, but I know where it is.
I look at it, smile and say: "screw you". |

I'd love to go back to that creaky old agri site I grew up in and shoot some hoops with whoever the next generation of poor farmers are. I hope my backboard is still hidden behind the industrial equipment.
After that... I'd probably find a bar and see how much my dating skills have dropped since I started using 'hey I'm a capsuleer' as a go-to pick up line.

Usually beaches are somewhat low, and when you need to get high, you ascend mountains. Provided it isn't actually a water world with little to no land mass, where beaches are actually highest points.
Watch out to not be washed away by a wave. On water worlds they might be rather...huge.
