Tranquility will undergo an extended downtime on Tuesday, 19 December from 0800 through 1100 GMT. This downtime will include fixes for some of the recent server stability issues, as well as server and database maintenance.
This extended downtime will replace the maintenance downtime that is normally scheduled for 1100 GMT.
We apologize for any inconvenience the rescheduled and extended downtime will cause.

Yes, the extended downtime will take place on the 19th, not the 18th. I have updated the announcements and apologize for the misinformation.

No client-side changes will be made during the extended downtime, not will there be a client patch. The work performed tomorrow will just address server issues. The issues remaining from the Revelations expansion are still being worked on and should be resolved in the near future.
The Vivox client integration will not take place during tomorrow's maintenance period. This will come at a future date which I do not know at this time.

Gentlemen,
There is this frame-rate open bug on your list. You claim you need more details. I had it happen again tonight and I was doing nothing special. Nothing I hadn't precisely done a million times. I would love it if you could tell us what kind of info we can present to you (ie:log files, etc).
Thanks

Bit hard to do to alliance and corp mails if you don¦t have the rights to delete them.
Plus it¦s besides the point. It¦s a bug that was fixed a LONG while back.
Why CCP saw fit to reintroduce it I¦ll never know

Edited by: Jun Kurisaki on 19/12/2006 07:26:26 I began getting the framerate bug tonight, it was fine until tonight, played all weekend long. Now when I jump through gates my framerate drops to unplayable. Interestingly enough, my second copy of the EVE client does not have this problem. Are there any files I can send somewhere? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Me too
I also have not experienced the problem, until I got home from work on 18th 7pm EVE time. I run two clients on one machine, one client lagged down to a rather chunky 5 fps, when it normally runs at >40. The other client was totally unaffected. Both chars were hauling across The Citadel region, following each other no less, doing EXACTLY the same thing, in the same ship type, configured the same way !

I really do NOT appreciate extended downtime without being informed well ahead of it. When I logged in yesterday afternoon there was no mention of any extended downtime. No wonder your product is in its current state if guys you work like that, probably you rush fixes through QA the same way. Oh, SiSi IS the QA? My bad.

I sure to god hope a reboot will fix the fps/cpu/mem problem. Having to relog after every 5 jumps due to unplayable fps is a real pain in the b*tt.

You know JP, at least they informed you of it at all! Other games (that won't be mentioned here) don't even bother to tell you that the game is going down for maintenance at all! Or if the game crashes it can be days before any notice is given as to why or what is being done, whereas here we have a whole forum section DEDICATED to information about what is going on and what is being done.
As for myself, I've been noticing the framerates in the dumps too and it has been hurting me playing as well. Usually restarting my client helps but its a pain to do that multiple times. I finally ran the framerate checker (CTRL+F) and the Eve-Monitor (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+M) to see what was up and it looked like there was just a TON of info being sent and resent to the server causing uber-lag and thus framerates in the garbage.
If this happens again after DT, I suggest running the logserver (which is what I'm gonna do) from the X:\Program Files\CCP\Eve directory and bug report it. You know, be a little proactive instead of reactive eh?
Anyway, so far so good, I'm logged in and happy as a lark! No lag and framerates are in the near 30s which is good for my system with the uptime it has.
Have a great day and have some fun ok? It is just a game after all! |

No, I've jumped 3 systems so far (which is what a LOT of people said were causing the FPS drop and lag spikes) and my FPS are still between 25 and 35 avg. No noticable problems, no crashes or flickers, nada.
Sorry mate, still happy as a lark here. Are you logging it? |
