eh, what?
Implants are cheaper than they have ever been. I remember when +3's were 35-40 million, and social skillbooks were over 100 million. Was not even a year ago.
How canprices be inflated when they are greatly deflated??? I R LOST

Yeah and what lack of rewards? My agents bombard me with implant offers most of which I don't take because of the oversupply and low prices...
If anything we have DEflation from too MANY implant rewards... --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

So you mean the stacks of 10 +4 implants each sitting in my hangar might actually be worth selling sometime in the future?

If implants got cheaper then maybe the lower 80% of EVE could actually get some good implants for a change.

I must be in the top 20%, and only after playing two months!! I already have a full set of +3 implants, and have gotten four skillbooks from my agents. Sold one, used two, and lost another.

I think you are missing something here. The implants don't come from mission rewards, they come from LP offers... The cash in agent rewards some people complain about is replacfng the trade good you used to get, like transmitters, tobacco etc... This has NO impact whatsoever on prices of implants. Those prices are slowly getting back up to norm after CCP wrecked them by tinkering with the LP offer tables, but they are still WAY low. Regular prices for implants used to be 30 mil for +3s and 80 mil for +4s. What we currently have is way cheap. If they rise, that is GOOD. As for other price hikes, especially T2 items, that is because of resellers in markets where supply is not higher than demand. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! I would like a return of "Other" rewards as well. It's boring getting nothing but cash.

They also use to come from storyline missions. I collected and sold dozens that way.

Well sure and as far as I can tell storylines still give implants, at least my last storyline gave me an implant as usual... The vast majority comes from LP offers though, at least up to +3s. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

You don't need to be rich to get L4 storylines, your logic is flawed. I'm glad implant rewards have been nerfed, they were way too abundant. I bought a set of +4s for 200m. O_o

What i think She is saying, and what i can agee with is that the usual +3 implant i got on my Storyline missions has been tweaked so that its less common, me and a corpmate have both not had this "bonus" +3 for the past 2-3 storylines.
Obviously you still get your LP offers.
we run lvl 3 brutor at the moment.

and what law does CCP violate if their reward system allows for "cheap" +4 implants? Even 200mill is a lot of money for some people, yet the reward shouldn't be ISK-printing either - but it's quite a stretch to assume everyone and their dog uses sets of +4...

200m is not pocket change for me either, I was merely pointing out my surprise at how much the market has been flooded with +4s. In only a couple of months they have dropped to a quarter of their original cost. Anything dropping that fast indicates an issue. The issue, in this case, was CCP breaking L4 couriers which allowed courier runners to get tons of important missions that all yielded +4 implants.
It was a side effect that CCP never intended to happen. Now they've 'fixed' it, though not nearly in the way I would have wished... fixing L4 couriers would have been ideal.

Storylines still give +3 and +4 implants out frequently. There are now some non-implant rewards, but TBH the frequency was too low given how easy it was to grind 16 courier L4s in a nanoceptor. (Now about half the missions actually require an indy, but so far only one requires expanders in a Viator, the rest can be done in an inertially stabilized blockade runner.) In addition, quite a few +3s and +4s come from LP offers.
Connections skills were always (and still are) LP offers.
The only thing that has changed significantly in price are the science skills - These used to be frequent time bonus offers, now they are only rare loot from a single particular mission. As a result their prices have skyrocketed, although so far prices are still OK for most skills. (Despite being far higher than previously, hydromagnetic physics for 3.5mill isn't TOO bad given the amount of profit that can be made with it.) ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Calista Industries |

LP offers suck atm
the effort of racking up the LP isnt worth the LP offers
few implantts that sell cheap no
skill books at 15k (if you get that offer) is alright
we need alot more variety of lp rewards, plus ones that keep up with inflation

Edited by: Jirikki on 20/12/2006 08:04:55 Isn't the idea that eventually items will become available to the masses? The mega powerful and wealthy get the first of everything but I've been playing for almost a year and I'd like a chance to get some of the good stuff too. The old prices were totally out of reach and took weeks to earn and then you just get ganked and lose everything. There needs to be a constant and massive influx of implants to replace losses. I gladly accept implants as lp offers at the current prices because there are really no other offers for LP.

I guess you are because no one I know who has been playing for 2 months or more has a full set of +3 implants or better and this is at least 20 people. You are way ahead of the curve.

i dont disagree, i think implant offers hould remain, but i would also like a little excitment thrown into the mix.
