I heard a dirty rumor that there was a large HP contingent in BoB and I was just curious to the validity of the rumor.
It has been a long time since my days in Meridian59 and since I've heard the words Hidden Power. I know that Koss went to EQ for a bit with a small group and then that was the end of it.
It would be interesting to know if those from Meridian are still about.

Yea everyone who plays mmo's has geeked it up in EQ
Where I will agree that most current MMO players played EQ, I believe the gentleman was referring to Meridian 59 and the days of Hidden Power and the lack of understanding. There weren't a lot of people who played the original Meridian 59 which is probably the first true GUI-based MMO and a game which I consider to have some of the best PVP to date still.

That depends on your definition of MMO. Meridian59 when released by 3do was the first 3D GUI MMO ever released and aguably defined the genre as we know it today. It was released in its early stages in 1995 and went commerical in 1996.

The post wasn't about me wanting to go back to M59, I've played at NDS before and I really couldn't get back into it as what made Meridian great was it's playerbase.
The point of the post was to find out of Hidden Power was still around or not and if they were in EVE.

Wow, AC pvp didn't even hold a candle to M59. M59 came down to pure skill in every encounter.
I played on 103 mostly, a bit on KuRgEn and a lot on Bountyman.
The guy who taught me to play was XRaven/KuRgEn/Precept/Clone (can't remember which #), and I'm sure a lot of other names. He was a lot older in M59 than I was as he played with Moonwalker and Black Daggers for a long time. I remember that he had me switch servers to 107 with him to build up and help fight a war with his old buddies, but he accidentally sent a bcast with a Black Daggers banner he was working on and that was the end of that. Noone would let us build at any hour.
We then started The Roughnecks on 106 until we all were banned for violating stupid kill rules implemented by the GMs. Stuff like not being able to kill the same person 3 times in 24 hours or not being able to kill more than 10 members of the same guild. That was when the gang sort of had it for us.
Glad to hear you guys are around.

Had to edit my post to say 106, not that crappy 103 server :)
The worst part about this game was update day. I remember those small updates taking hours on a 56k connection. UGH!
