THIS THREAD IS EPIC(ly horrible).
So you're playing a game which has openly advertised one of the selling points that scamming and backstabbing is legal in game and you've been scammed. Oh god. Call CNN before this story gets leaked!

As amusing as this thread may be, in the long run the ones really getting screwed are those living in conquerable stations, especially D2. Scams are allowed, but for their own sake I'd try to atleast look into the situation.

Except people are failing to see it wasn't a scam. It was entirely possible that someone could have taken the items to D2's station, they just had to have access. It was a public contract that this person picked up without proper research into how he was going to complete it. It is his fault, because he picked the contract from the list, he wasn't given it specifically by D2 then laughed at.

Please refrain from accusing D2 members of scamming. The contract was totally legit. Of course it can only be completed if you have docking rights on D2 stations. But that is something any contractor should check beforehand.
There are still enough ppl in this alliance, who can take this contract, i.e. alliance members and blues.
If you do courier missions just check what the cicumstances are under which a contract can be fullfilled.
edit: I already stated what I would do if I were the contractor.

Scam or not, it still makes me wary about picking up a courier mission to a conquerable station and having to deal with this kind of a hassle.

Scamming is allowed but this is pretty close to exploiting. If the contract system or map system will tell you that your target will not let you deliver then its a scam. If it doesn't then its an exploit.
TBH they shouldn't even let you accept missions where it is not possible to deliver (not talking about low sec or podding)
I've actually stopped doing any courier missions as the whole system is broken and favours the scammers more. Your chance of a legit contract is quite low.

You get a dialog like that, if you are about to accept a courier mission to a conquerable station or an outpost. I just made a courier mission for my alt to check it. 
I still wonder, if this thing with contacting a lawer and such was meant as RP or as joke. If it was mean serious, then sorry, we play with game currency in a virtual word. We are allowed to play pirates, thieves, businessmen without scruples, murderers, whatever we like.
Players in EVE blow stuff up for billions: In combat, in ganks, even in suicide attacks in high sec., if the victim likes it or not. Corp thieves sometimes steal billions, scammers scammed already for billions ... it's allowed in this game.
If someone calls a lawyer in rl, he should get banned from the game for harrassment.

or the OP is serious ...
if the later i'll advice the OP:
step #1: uninstall EVE
step #2: unplug your PC from the router/modem
step #3: switch your router/modem off
step #4: uninstall Windows
step #5: switch your PC off
step #6: make all the stuff presents to different people - you know ... it's christmas, and to more people the stuff is spread the more difficult it is to get it back.
step #7-#1000000000: never ever buy a computer again or use a computer that has internet access, a gameboy with tetris is allowed though.
remember kids - games, the internet and life should never be taken too serious.

To Kobanashi Laro, let your allaince member know and tell him if he is not scamming to ask the courier to setup an exchange to get his isk back with a small amount kept by yourself for your inconvienance.
