Great story and very well writen. Congrats.
If it's true or not, i really don't know. Seems kinda of impossible a domi taking out 2xnavy ravens, a armageddon, and a drake. If it's true, i extend my congrats to the kills also. But what matters is the writing, and that is well worth it. |

Nice read. I don't know if the story is true (if it is, one of the victims may be best able to explain). What I know is that a fully T2, maximized skills Dominix (although a very nice solo machine) cannot under any circumstances tank (especially long enough to kill them) 2CNR's an Arma and a Drake shooting anything other than snowballs (i.e. piloted by ppl with just decent skills, using more or less 'correct' fittings and not civialian stuff and actually aiming and firing at you).
With uber-l33t faction stuff you may do better but I still don't think your tank could absorb all that. Moreover, a decent CNR pilot solo could tank you dmg (mostly form drones if you use a lot of nosses and 2 LARS) until he runs out of cap charges.
The above plus some other stuff you say (you scouping and launching drones all the time, deactivating hardeners and those guys trying to kill your drones instead of killing you in a matter of seconds) make me believe that:
a.either these guys were complete noobs and were doing everything wrong=ebay ftl or
b. story is not entirelly(?) true. Either way, nice read as I said.

If this is the writing style you usually use, I want to hear about all your other fights.  Win or loose doesn't matter, as long as it's written in the same style.
I think you can even make a story about a 30 minute gate camp where nobody comes through in to a thriller! About the true/untrue thing: the story may be fiction but so is Eve, isn't it?

Curazon, there is no way to tank the damage that two CNRs, an armageddon, and a drake were spouting at you in a dominix with just two armour repairers.
Two reps with all hardeners (assuming you have infinite cap and no need for the fitting mods) will only tank around 700 DPS. Two CNRS alone would be going above this damage almost twofold, added to the damage of the geddon and the drake. Chances are that with just two armour repairers, faction/officer or not, you would be taking around 1000DPS that is non-repairable. This means that with the likely HP of 6000/8000/6000 with good skills you would not have lasted 2 minutes factoring resistances in.
That's not mentioning the "fact" that you turned off a hardener, and used your AB to close almost 100km to get to the first CNR. The cap gain from the Nos would almost reduced by the neut, and you would have been horribly drained by afterburning 100km without having any to drain and running your repairers. For your story to be correct, then, you would have needed a cap injector, which would have been running quickly out of charges running two repairers from the get-go and afterburning 100km in a dominix (which, without speed mods aside from the afterburner, would take approximately 5 minutes) If you DID have an injector fitted, then having two repairers along with nos, neuts and and afterburner would have left you absolutely neededing a fitting mod or two. This takes away from your possible hardener count, and means that you can tank even less dps.
Now, unless the enemy pilots were blindingly incompetent, you are telling fibs. That is not to say that your story was bad; I enjoyed it.

If I wrote a story about a PvP-less 30 minute gatecamp, it would probably meander its way back to those X-rated Holoreels, at which point some mod would read it, blush fiercely, and ban me from the forums.
And to everyone else. STOP TELLING ME why my tank is impossible, what mods must have been fitted on whom, and what you think happened. Then get into a PvP ship. Then pay me a visit. M'kay? =)

EVE Library really, with a short new topic in EVE General maybe saying "Find new combat report here.
Funny how few people know of your search for the ultimate killing machine as per that announcement in Events really. You do need to do some Vids (or at least screenshots, hit PrtScr!) to silence them all up, or well, here in Crimes & Punishments posting anonymized kill mails could lend some credibility (but I doubt that suits your style, and they can be written from scratch anyway).

this guy flies the most uber pimped bs's he can have... he probably have full implant sets, best faction equipment isk can buy... so i would guess this guy can rep more than double your 700 hp per tick...

I really did enjoy the story and having been picked apart by a Dominix and it's Drones myself, I have no reason to doubt it. But I read a comment by you saying "stories". So where can I find the others.
BTW, enjoyed the tunes too... glad I downloaded them all before the "snip".

Yes there is a way to tank that. Nos the arma and soon hisDPS is very low. ECM drones on one raven, dampeners on the other..... the dps of a common passive tanked drake is pathetic for your natural tank.
The remaining problem would be.. how to kil them... :P

ok now reading more carefully. Armaggedon orbiting fast.. that results in nearly zero real DPS for him. NAvy raven throwing torpedoes on drones... WTF! trying to kill all the drones of a dominix.. with torpedoes? lol anothert ships real dps reduced to nearly zero.
Under that circustances a good pilot of an well equippped dominix can no doubt tank the remaining dps...
