I just bought one being shipped.
Never owned an ipod or any mp3 player.
The zune sold me simply for 2 main reasons.
It had a flat 15 per month download all the music you want for it.
and
it has a built in radio. I cant see me ever filling up the 30 gig with music duno maybe I am wrong but I just cant see it.
Hopefully will see some stuff on their download site besides all music though later. Would like to see maybe some comedy and apparently it can hold 100hr of video but duno why I would ever want to watch a movie on a tiney screen.
Anyway just currious if anyone had one. Kentucky where the goats roam and the rednecks run free |

man I really hate to shamelessly bump cause I never do but really currious if anyone has one and what they think of theirs.
Promise I wont bump again. But this is the only forum I use on the internet so didn't know where else to ask :) Kentucky where the goats roam and the rednecks run free |

I don't have one but if I were to get an MP3 player I would probably get one myself. It's called Zune you see. And its a funny name. So I would..
Yeah, that and I can't stand iPods any more

The Zune, from what I heard, is an excellent alterative to the video Ipod. If you read customer reviews of various tech sites, you would get mostly the same answer. Also, you can share music with your pals if they have a zune too.

You can't share music--all you can do is give a limited copy to them, which they can play a grand total of 3 times.

Creative Zen Vision: M 4tw.
Best thing about it is that it is not an Ipod.
Excellent video playback, 30GB storage, can carry data as well, and also has an FM Radio. Another good thing is (for me) is that it works under Linux.

I really thought about the zen vision m.. That was my second choice. The only reason I didn't choose it was I had bad experiences few years ago getting "free" music off web with viruses and wasn't really familiar with any pay services. I dont own any cd's and dont really have any desire to buy any right now.
The storage of data is kinda neat but I dont think I would ever use it really.
Duno I'll be getting it on wed sometime so guess I hope I made the right decision :) Kentucky where the goats roam and the rednecks run free |

i bought a ze a few weeks ago. its nice and all, ts not too big, 30gb is sweet, video is ok, but it is only on a couple inch screen.
a simple warning though: toet things (music, pcis, movies) you HAVE ouse th zune software it cmes with. you cannot use anytng else becasue i imply dosnt work. i would hin atyu would be able to use ndows media player as seeng that windows and zune are bo from microsoft, bu sadly u cant. i tink the zune gram s a peice of......bad software. you cant simply mport files easily you hv to tell zun t "watch" a flder and it wll lad up any canges. loaing stuff int he library takes forever too.
and another thing that really ****es me off about it. getting videos onto the zune is hard. thrs a video ubtton you go to, but even i you "watch" a folder it dont upload for some reason. and thn i yo try opning tht fil wit zunit plays i ut dsnt add it to libary the only solution is to open up my videos or wherevr the video is and hen hv zune in the background opened on th syc list, then drag it to there. then i works
ionce ou get pass hat tuid software roaqdbump, i love the final product on the zune an i suggestone its jut not fo the feingh heartd wards compuer lik my dad. ide agintatthey will ix tis stuff o else its jutme wichwould suck :-)
----------------------------------------------------------- sorry if theres bad spelling in my post, i just got a new keybord thats curved and my old one wasnt, plus i still have to break in the buttons, and to top it off i have a slight dilexia problem or however it's spelt

Well got my zune.
Have had it for 2 days now.
It rocks in my opinion. Now I have no basis for comparison but for me I love it.
It's a nice solid feel to it basically it feels good and rugged. Only 2 buttons and the big button to worry about.
I got the all you can download subscription and it works great as far as I can tell have downloaded around 4gig of music flawlessly so far to get started. nice variety of comedy cd's as well.
If anyone was interested in the video it's seems of fairly good quality display but again dont see myself watching a movie on such a small screen but it's there.
I like how the album covers display in little icons on the screen when picking an album to listen to.
I also like the fact that it syncs it'self with my computer and recharges at the same time threw the serial port.
I do however wish they had some audio books available for download.
My main (and only really) purpose of my zune is for work and audio books would be a nice change of pace from time to time.
Anyway thanks for all the advice I got and gotta say I would recommend it to a friend if given the chance. Kentucky where the goats roam and the rednecks run free |
