Ok for people not involved let me give you a little cheat sheet how to decipher BOB post concerning the JU "road trip"
If BoB won the fleet fight against IRON a. IRON are a bunch of noobs b. IRON are nothing without G c. Superior BoB leadership and piloting wins again.
If Iron won a fleet battle against BoB a. It had to be because G helped them b. It was because Iron outblobbed them using tech 1 frigates(regardless of what killmail said) c. Yeah IRON won but only because of all their resident corps helping if it was IRON alone BoB would have won and won decisively without losing one ship. d. Laggggggggg

No, i'm not disqualifying the validity of you're post, but your certainly not helping yourself in that aspect. --------------------

DM, Iron didnt win any fleet battles though alone though so your point is a bit invalid.
This is what fighting Iron is like Iron + dek residents + RZR + G, you guys throw in all that but still ask for "respect" for winning fleet battles. When Iron was down south they fought alone (thats what i heard atleast) now thats how you gain respect as a proper fleet. Yes Iron got slaughtered by BoB, everyone knows it so there is nothing wrong with asking your allies to back you up. But that doesnt entitle you to say that IRON wont the battle. There is a diffrence and wether you like it or not, Iron are known to be the alliance dangling under G's lil skirt (now D2) until Iron prove thats not the case, no ammount of "omg we are allies!" and "We can stand our own ground we just prefer not to" will ever change that opinon. Now either accept it or ignore it i couldnt care less :P

I can see your point somewhat Kryztal. But alot(not all) of your alliance takes one negative aspect and runs with it. If we had 150 Man fleet with 7 residents we would get accused of bringing the entire north. The same thing can be said for Fix being bob lapdogs or Dice being BoB lite. No matter what people do some people will just keep saying the same things over and over. Truth matters not. Oh yeah nothing on the forums bother me, its interesting as a matter of fact. Even blacklights post had me *****ing up.

You cannot expect that anyone outside BoB goes for the same objectives/goals so you guys can say : nanana were better then you , if they had same goals then yes you could say that as for now ?
You cant .

Honestly, even though BOB is great at what they do, all I have seen from this thread is the beginnings of a propaganda machine to give excuses to BOB's fleets getting spanked if they ever get involved with "the north."

Well I've been on both sides of the fence through my eve time. Or at least I think I can be pretty nuetral in this situation. So let me offer my opinion.
- G/Iron WTF pwned ASCN. I'm pretty certain they achieve a simular K:D ratio to BOB's in the current conflict. Its true they never finished the job, but frankly I for one can't hold that against them. To far from home, an outpost lost in the mean time, and maybe a lack of willpower to try and hold 2 regions 60 jumps apart. With the exception of industrial might (which is fair considering the distances) they walked all over ASCN most of the time.
- The BOB trip in which they took an outpost was just that a road trip. I knew that before the outpost fell, it had been posted on the forums several times. I don't think anyone can really say they kicked BOB out.
- EC. I'll say that I for one would never have ordered a gang to jump into that. At least with the numbers the defending side could have fielded. Maybe BOB could have done it and come out winning. But to be honest, I personally think they would have tried, but I think lag and outher factors would have hamperd them.
- IRON untill the split after EC, I didn't think that IRON counted for much TBH. Not that they didn't have good people in thier ranks, they did. But they had to many bad people, and resident corps adding to thier number that they became a dissorganized mess. After purging the deadweight I'm sure they got better.
- G. During the war with 5, I thought they were very hesitent to engage in situations I personally would have. It was wierd because they were close to being our equal in terms of skill, but wouldn't engage equal numbers. I play in a differant time zone, but experianced that first hand, and it was a simular feeling as everyone else though. [5] had problems at the begining of that trip since we became accusumed to fighting IRON in which a 2:1 advantage ment nothing. Against G we got pwned at first, though later simply went on HAC raids since we felt the fleet fights were suicide or nothing.
Later on, when they became more agressive (and they did between my [5] days and the time I joined FATE), I'd say they were the best allience out there in terms of PVP pilot for pilot at least.
- Present day. Well I for one havn't been playing a lot due to work. BOB has made claims that D2, are actually worse then ASCN, or would have been easier. I for one don't believe that. When I was in D2 ( though a while ago) I would have put D2 against BOB and called it a good fight. My money would have been on BOB even though I was a member of D2, but you can't tell me it wouldn't have been an epic fight. Now-a-days I havn't followed D2 enough to know where they stand.

Facts, as uncomfortable as they may be to swallow:-
...
3) IRON has always yapped above their weight and has never achieved anything without G's backing. In fact what am I saying, they've never achieved anything, no need to further qualify that statement. The only entity in the north that anyone respects was G and is now D2, whether the little yappy alliances hanging on to D2's coat tails like to hear that or not it's fact.
I'm not, and have never been, a big IRON fan, but you got your opinions and facts mixed up there, BL.
- Fact : IRON still lives in what is their traditional homeland, and some of their pilots go all the way back to the short-lived NSA or the old CoD. If they were as bad as you claimed, they would have lost that territory long ago - survival of the fittest, you know? So they have to be doing something right.
- Fact : If [G] (and nowadays D2) didn't think IRON worthy of their trust and friendship, they would have ceased their longtime cooperation. Again, if the cooperation continues, then IRON must be doing something right, because [G] aren't very keen on freeloaders.
- Fact : While being disorganized and lacking tactical geniuses (imo), IRON does posses a fair amount of skilled, experienced PvPers that would do BoB proud if they were flying your colours. I'm sure Kryztal, a former IRON pilot herself, wouldn't dispute that.
Quote:
...
6) It's impossible to gauge how a D2 vs BoB fight would turn out by only considering D2 and BoB. Whilst BoB fleets almost never (like 99.5%+ of the time) have non-BoB pilots in D2 on the other hand will have their usual quota of local meat shield alliances along for the ride to bulk up their numbers.
...
P.S. I'll be rather surprised if D2 actually find the cohones to take on BoB. If they do I'll bet the contents of all my character's wallets that they'll ensure they outnumber BoB about 10:1 on paper with every alliance they can find to gang bang us. I bet the ears of all the diplomats from YouWhat, RISE, Frege, Insurgency, RAZOR, IRON and a catalogue of failed alliances with a grievance against BoB are burning every time a D2 member even glances at this thread. There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO chance that D2 would ever have the balls to face BoB on their own and we all know it.
You'll NEVER get a fight with D2 only if you come fight up north, and it's not D2's choice to make. The North is full of territorial alliances, corporations and individuals, in the true sense of the term - entities and people that will fight for their land.
The geopolitic model in the north is quite different from the one adopted by BoB in the south. Whereas BoB reigns supreme as the one "master" alliance in the south (a bit like 16th century Spain), the north is more a network of sovereign alliances, with D2 as its political gravitational point (a bit like 17th-18th century central europe, with D2 cast as Prussia).
It has nothing to do with "*******" at all, and I think you know that perfectly well - but I can't fault you for trying to pique D2's honor, it's their traditional emotional weak spot after all.

Irrelevant. On a forum where many nationalities are forced to use one language it's deplorable to try and score forum points by picking apart peoples grammar and use of the language. If they're point is clear, there is absolutely no need for it.

Caybn, thank you for making me realise how you and your partners look upon forum posting, and its purpose. Your wording of it, "forum points", makes me question the very validity and content of one's forum posts, if he's driven by such a mindset. Thank you for clearing it up for me.
As for myself, i'm not trying to "score" anything. I have sincerely gave Death Merchant a piece of advice regarding retorts in general, not grammar. And I do agree it is deplorable to pick on non-english native people for the quality of their spoken/written english. However, this was not the case. Please refer to the reply I gave Kryztal, I hate repeating myself. --------------------

Edited by: Petite Pierre on 31/12/2006 04:43:01 What are we? A mere cocktail of perceptions, which in turn, direct the way we react.
But, to be on topic (we have derailed enough as it is), the northern friendship is often mistaken as a token to stability and security. It is actually a deeper bond, forged out of similar mindsets, fighting together against northern enemies, protecting the ideas and the land we love. I can see where Blacklight is heading with his post, and it may stick with the ones non-savy of North's history. If Iron was weak and dead-weight, they would not be in this particular kumbaya my lord AA club. But half-truths and forum propaganda is a known BoB method (individuals of BoB, I don't mean you specifically, don't bother getting hyped).
As for the anticipated D2 & Allies vs BoB conflict, do I think that either will "win" ? Hell no. But we'll have a lot of fun, should it happen. Forums in flames, lots of explosions ingame, and the interesting/entertaining value of the game will soar.
The winners will be those cheering on TS servers across the world, after a fight. Can't wait :) --------------------

That is because how you say something is often much more important than what you actually say. Take a good look at the grammar and spelling in any Blacklight or Molle post compared to the common mashups people consider a post these days. Tell me which ones you actually pay attention to.
..and it's an easy target.
Jade Constantine wrote her forum posts very eloquently; a fact that garnered her ideas much more weight and respect with the typical reader than the actual substance and rhetoric contained within posts.
Generally, if someone cannot be arsed to learn the difference between "your" and "you're", they aren't overly concerned with what people think of the content of their posts and people will flame them for their sloppiness. It's a cheap shot, designed to be personal, but still a shot.
I am glad to have participated in the derailment of this thread.
