Originally by: CCP Eris Discordia It¦s not an actual error message, it was designed into the complex. If you didn¦t get an escalation it doesn¦t mean it¦s broken.
OMG what logic.
If the complex does not go away after this message (and everyone here says thats the case) then it is broken. It polutes space and people will waste time of their life re-scanning it over and over. Similary I got a "desolate site" in Ibura and since exploration was introduced back in December it has been there. It's broken, don't try to make it sound like it works...people still keep wasting probes on it in order to find this 'unknown signature' today.
Exploration has been a total anti-climax for many as we invested weeks of skilltraining on it (not to mention scan time and financial investments). Some even got kicked in the balls (not me luckily) when probes suddenly required no ice materials anymore (an un-announced change no less). Yet CCP seems to be realy happy about how it all works, oblivious to mistakes.
As with the mission changes currently in the works and CCP adding escalation stuff in there as well (to "compensate" the high-sec nerfing they are about to do), I realy have to wonder....
Does any of the devs actualy play the game like a large chunk of the playerbase does? Or are you totaly in the mindset of the big PvP alliances and want to make this the next shooter that has a lifespan of maybe 12 months of hype before being replaced by the new kid on the block?
My point is that your mindset is alien to us players, you lost 'connection'. That single comment you did told me everything. It's defensive and arrogant at the same time, as you can't seem to understand the players point of view and therefore just declares it 'as supposed to be'.
Peeps....you are not GODS! You do make mistakes, many small obvious ones (that you don't see) and sometimes realy big experience altering ones. With the attitude CCP and you in this particular case are displaying you are bound to make a fatal mistake rather sooner then later and loose customers! Not understanding the viewpoint of your customers is deadly to any business, be it games or otherwise! CCP as a company got this far, please don't throw it all away out like this.
Now don't get shy and hide away from forums, as we love your pressence here. We do so because we...the customers...expect this to help establish a connection that puts us into a position to have a voice too! But to get a connection, you need to have an open mind and listen very carfuly what people are trying to say. This is not always what people say, sometimes how they say things tells more then what they actualy say. We arent always magicans with words, but put effort into understanding them and you will become better developers and have a happyer playerbase too! Maybe more importantly become better as a persons in the process!
I can rant on about this seemingly forever, but I figgure I said the most important things one can say. Please try to understand where people are coming from. Look trough their eyes to the game....not just your own!
