Uggy,
Come down and play with me for a while, if ya don't mind your sec rating going thru the floor. I've always admired your playstyle, hence why I served my short (due to lack of isk earning capabilities) stint in BYDI.
I'm usually solo now too, but I'd make room for the Ug. This Sig is Within Rules. :P

Sorry my friend, there is no good PvP in EVE any more. 'Winning tactics' includes: Logoff/logon tactics Spying on TS Blobbing. Station hugging. Hiding behinds POS shields. Sniping.
None of these is good for 'fun PvP'

not exactly a accurate description of events, i can fill you in abit. celest wanted to gank you :) plim asked the others to not do anything until he had his go hence why the others werent there except for the crusader to ensure you didnt run away if you hwon over plim wich you did in your myrmidon versus his brutix. the crusader scrambled you after you had duked it out with plim and the BS warped in as plim was going pop. we could have done it abit more differently by sending in all 5 BS and the brutix and the crusader at once but we thought you might want a nice fight before you got to go pop. was fun watching you and plim slug it out, if he had a myrmidon also i think you would have gone pop by plims hands though as it was very close.

The fight could easily gone the opposite way as you mention.. I sat there scanning when he came..He attacked and i thought i had time to scan first for others to see if anyone followed right behind him.. When i saw no one else it was a go but he did some awesome dmg and more than i excepted so i already entered armor when it went up for me that he actually had engaged..(good job)
I had dual rep but didn`t use it before the Hyperion and dominix came in and i was at 20% armor..As you might saw i tanked the hyperion and domi better than the brutix..But wasn`t worth saving the cap..hehe

Join a Alliance with BYDI, and make a mark in the political/territorial map, and be part of the ever changing EVE, in part that in my case, seems the only viable option, since in empire we really cannot make a difference. In 0.0 in othercase, the difference in just us.
I know BYDI, from my newb times, when I was in SLBF, and since then I have actually been towards PVP, prolly one part of the kick to PvP was actually BYDI, I was a HC carebear when I started EVE; I hated to have a fight since didnt really have any chance since didnt have skills yet, and after being killed few times, we killed some few BYDI, b4 I left SLBF and joined others, to end up in the best corp I could be hoping for, FinFleet, and I must say, fighting RA&co, I have had the time of my life.
If ya consider my suggestion, it ofc depends on the choice of alliance which ya take, BoB/D2 seems in brink (flamesuit on). LV & RA&co has been, and will be, but joining a alliance can get a branded I think, so choose carefully :)
I might be talking more than I have experience but; I think BYDI would be a good imlement to any Alliance in sense of PVP attentance and dedication to PvP.
... Just my 10 cents

'Big alliance' PvP perhaps... but on the small scale 'fun' PvP' is still very much alive in my opinion. ----------

The sad part is:
I knew i was gonna die so the best fun i had was to eject my cap charges, pick up the brutix loot before i died and see that it all got blown up on my deathmail..
That was a good fight man, I figured I would have a go against the myrm in the brutix because my skills are pretty much maxed out for it, but of course the myrm has higher base everything pretty much. I could have called in back up a bit earlier, but I wanted to go in for a fight because as you probably know, ganking stuff gets boring. And of course I didn't think you would hang around if local suddenly jumped. But it's all about knowing what your enemy has. All of pvp is about information, I pirated on my alt in aunenen for about a year (which is why I scanned you down so fast). And I got loads of good 1v1/out numbered fights. But on occasion what happened to you would happen, you either have to have an escape plan, or know if your enemy has back up.
But I don't think that most people are flying around looking for ganks, it's just that the numbers can't always match up. Don't get too cynical about solo fighting though, I think it is still viable. It's just harder to have all the ends covered solo, you often can't be 100% certain of what your enemy has, so you have to take calculated risks.

Meh, the days of small roaming pvp corps are quickly being coded out of the game. You could say BoB were the first to notice this (*puts on tinfoil hat*), because they are full of GMS and DEVS , and have one upped everyone else. It just gots to take the rest of the dinosaurs time to evolve, or stop playing. Which ever you would like to do is your choice.

My suggestions are, take the corp to 0.0, do it solo, or join up with guys like Roadkill in the north, or any other 0.0 pirate corp. Or you could join up with an alliance and perhaps find a purpose in fighting, like defending territory or fighting to take it. Get into some nice fleet fights.

Edited by: Father Weebles on 31/12/2006 08:43:19 yeah i know what u mean
being in a small empire war corp finding decent targets is hard to find. empire alliances are unique to say the last. examples: 1 corpmate is camped in an enemy home system with 8 hostiles, another corpmate enters, 8 hostiles scatter. Alliance hides. Alliance blobs (im talking 1:7 or more odds) And every now and then you might find an alliance that fights back, while mabye not being a 1:1 but the battles will be good fun and both sides have a blast.
The thing with empire wars is the amount of stations and ease of evading pvp.
The best possible way to avoid blobs and have fun is to make friends. I suggest to move to 00 and ally with some well known pvp corps and kill stuff, as its generally more enjoyable hunting enemies in 00 cuz neutrals are fair game. :)
+ mabye form an alliance with another small/med empire merc corp and see how it goes....
