Ok I'm expecting alot of hate for this suggestion but here goes!
Personally I'd propose making a change so that only freighters and some industrial ships have Jump Drives.
WHY?
How many times do you set up a camp or or go on a roam and engage a target only for a cyno to go up and you or your gang get jumped on by superior numbers or forces?
There was a time when no ships had jump drives and fights were fun you could still get jumped but at least that was due to poor scouting or lack of good intel for the surrounding systems, now its almost impossible to engage a target without the chance of a cyno lighting and superior numbers engaging you and this is almost impossible to counter as they could be coming from any of 50 systems potentially.
This in my opinion is the major reason that numbers of players in eve have dropped as well as making people hide every time someone enters a system this is then compounded still further in 0.0 where super size alliances are the only ones capable of fielding fleets of carriers, super carriers, dreads and if required titans.
Having the chance of seeing an enemy cap fleet coming because it has to through a gate gives you a chance of moving out of the way or countering without worrying about numbers suddenly exploding to unbeatable levels with a smaller group this is not to say you won't get caught but more that you have more of a chance of getting a fight that you are willing to take without having to be concerned about 50 ships suddenly appearing that you can't see coming to your 10 v 10 engagement or even your 10 ships vs 20 enemy ships that your willing to take on.
As for Black Ops ships make them able to warp cloaked and more like a heavy bomber boost the scan resolution and targeting range per level as well as tracking and range of weapons say 5% per level of black ops ships. |

Actually your right that its easier to scout than it was last year but when I say its harder to scout now I'm talking than it was pre capitals. |

Personally I do not care one way or the other. I play EvE because I like it and I will continue to adapt to the changes in the game as I have in the past but there is some merrit to the OP suggestion. |

I actually would'nt mind them revisiting how cynos work in general;
First there are suggestions to remove dependancy on cynos by letting people jump to solar systems "blindly" appearing at a random spot in solar system, to balance this, a warpin beacon will stay for 30 seconds on the jumper.
Second, tweaks to the cyno module in itself would make sense. Maybe give the duration of the cyno be based on isotopes in inventory, and eating a chunk of this based on mass of the ship jumping in.
Other tweaks could be to prevernt help given to the cynoer or increasing the requirements on the module, giving frigates a hard time with fitting it. Making a t2 version which you can pulse with 5s intervals, making it wildly more usable on larger ships.
The cyno mechanics is ancient, and for many that makes this for some reason untouchable mechanics wise. But with the changes to capitals, tweaking cynoing makes sense for a more tactical playstyle.

Now, if you were really inclined to nerf cynos, I'd do it by giving ships that go through it a 30 second jump time. So cyno lights, you have 30 seconds to kill the opposing tacklers and jump away, or alternatively 30 seconds to light your own cyno and spark a capital fight if you happen to have some on bat phone. |

if you want scouts to have more of a chance, have a cynos require a spool up before the cyno actually goes active to jump to. for the entire spool up the warp in beacon lights up. This means you have to have a relatively safe system to jump to, as well as the standard of multiple cynos in the same system. Because of the ease of possibly stopping the cyno by blowing it up, ships will either be supremely big and brick tanked, or cyno's will light in neighboring "secured" systems and the caps will have to jump in and take gates.
blops and covert cynos need not apply to this, they are working as intended.
You are content to be content. This is not a jedi mind trick, you're just the game

i am against removal of jump drives even though the OP has a valid point that in most cases a cyno would go up and reinforcements arrive. It should be possible but it can be frustrating yes.
i am not active playing ATM but when i did it was like this and an honest fight was hard to find, this doesn't mean that we should remove cyno`s but i am interested in ideas to make more fun fights possible

Yeah because the hotdrops raised because of the jump fatigue. Sounds strange to you ? To me too.
Just because you wanna fight with your 20 buddys against 1 ship and you got hotdropped, there is no reason to change the whole game. Just flee if you see the cyno or take the fight. But don-Št take the fight and cry here later how bad this is.

Nothing cam be done, larger groups will always be able to drop more but smaller groups can still have an element of suprise and maybe catch a super, a smaller group wouldnt stand a chance in nullsec if they had to take the gates as intel channels would already know the smaller group was around before getting anywhere near a target

I think it should be the other way around, jump freighter make space logistics too easy and risk free, jumping station to station with values is pretty ******, back in the day you would be escorted or scouted.
And being hot dropped by an blob is part of the game, stopping them form doing is boring, but discouraging them form hot dropping an single is better.
But you could always not fly something worth hotdropping.

All good ideas, ccp should pick a few and implement them, because the OP is right about some of those issues. The threat of an instant fleet appearing on top of you every time a neutral pilot enters system is tiresome. At the moment we have jump fatigue which is annoying capital pilots, yet still permitting hotdropping, which is annoying to everyone else. They've tweaked the rules to **** off basically everybody and need to adjust the dial.

I'm not saying we haven't hot dropped we have, and to be honest we've done it with both blops and titan bridges and in spite of the size of my mains corp we have probably more capitals than most per head and not being able to jump would be a major pain including for my accounts having 2 carriers and a dread myself but I still see this as a potentially better solution than the current situation. Especially for small alliances trying to defend there space against an unaware invading force. |
