You have to be joking? Yeah it's possibly one of the most fun pvp routes in the game, empire is teeming with random people suiciding at pirates like lemmings. But it certainly isn't hard. ------------- CELES because making the tough guys cry is funnier.

Quote: Edited by: tiller on 02/01/2007 06:23:24 As apposed to laughing at the clueless carebears in this thread im actually going to enquire about this setup:
how long can you tank the sentries for? how long do you think this would be without crystals?
why the limos? is this a cost issue? a fitting issue? do you not have the skills for t2?
many haulers have 4 med slots, how many do you get fitting 4+ stabs
How do you put this into practice? sit at the gate for as long as you can? have a scout the other side to warn you of incoming traffic so you can warp in? (i imagine warp to zero would make this quite practical)
edit: purely out of interest how much do those rigs set you back.
and to the carebears whining: tiller is actually doing you a favour warning you about the latest in pirate tactics.
Hey Kehmor, good to see ya man.
I just timed the setup and it tanks sentrys solo for 3mins 5 secs within shield only. You could run into armor and hull if need be and should be plenty of time to kill any haulers or transport. Without crystals it may have problems keep shield up but it should still tank ok... lvl 5 BC would certainly help out here.
Maybe there is a better setup but with 1 mid splot free for tank / keeping you alive it's tough
Using Limos for skill reasons and cost. I'll probably swap to t2 once I can spare the skilling time but the cost is pretty high.
The reason for 5 disrupts is mainly a constant stream of Bestowers with 4 stabs where I was.. also several stabbed up transports that were causing trouble. It's a close call wether it would be better to fit 4 disrupts and a faction web instead as transports tend to run with mwd when scrambled.
Have to use a alt to make this work. First find a medium traffic system preferably with two gates only and no stations. I sit alt in other system cloaked... with me sitting on gate on other side.
If a unknown pilot comes into my system I immediately jump to the next system and approach gate while my alt does the same (we swap positions)..while I get into position on gate alt recloaks and scans for ship type. The same happens vice versa... sometimes we are almost constantly swapping positions and though a PITA it means your always in position to scramble and can hit traffic going both directions 100% of the time.
If flagged I sit a few thousand k away and use scanner to detect inc targets, as soon as hauler on scanner I warp to gate and jump or follow ship in. This is not always successful as you can be out of range when you decloak on other side. (faction disruptors could make all the difference here)
If ship is anything other than a hauler I don't engage... If two or more guys from same corp enter my system or alts system I safe up and wait for them to leave.
Rigs are dropping in cost fast, about 90m isk for the set of 3.

Agreed.
We'll see things settle down in a bit, but I predict CCP dropping build requirements or further increasing rig component drop rates.
These things should be viable on T1 cruisers... even at 10m per rig, that might be a bit spendy.
It's great playing Caldari-online, isn't it?

Maybe they sound expensive, but it's similar to running a mission setup CNR. The more isk you put in the better the returns. IMHO they are priced perfectly, and should always be a luxury item.. If everyone fitted them ships would be overpowered.
If you keep your wits about you and never get temped by other tougher targets you should not go boom.

may well give this a try. Ah so t2 would fit fine then? It sounds to me, what with the tanking, scrambling, and webbing issues suffered by one of these ships a pair together each with 2 or 3 scramblers and a web could prove much more devestating. Obviously your profits are halved but by the way you are making it sound you would nail twice as much.
90mil for 3 rigs isnt too bad at all

Sounds like a plan.. but your right, a web is deffo needed for transports. Most t1 haulers seem to be not fitting mwd's at all now though so not really a problem.

How does the cap hold out? Would it the cap hold if you used a shield flux instead of a PDU?
