There's plenty of better reasons than that to fix killboards but ok. |

I think in their current state they are kind of stupid but I don't know if "de-whored" I would be green or red.
Stuff like e-war boat will always have a hard time getting their real participation shown on kills because while one point is crucial to get a kill, the 14th one isn't as required in most case. Like any statistics, we can make them say pretty much anything. Well as long as you don't push your luck too hard and try to make them say I'm good at this game... |

KB don't show if people are having fun or what happened in a fight so to me outside of showing what you just killed or giving an idea of how someone fits their ship there is not much useful info.

IMO, if you are present on lots of killmail, you are either having fun or stupidly wasting your time. It's a game for crying out loud so if you are not having fun, you are more stupid than the purple mission runner who at least have his share of his own kind of fun. |

KB indeed doesn't show fun. It shows success in the encounter. However winners usually have fun.

Gevlon Goblin wrote:However winners usually have fun. Except when they don't. Winning or losing generally has no effect on the level of fun. Usually the fun comes from it being a close battle, so I'd argue the people that have the most fun are the people closest to a 1:1 kd ratio.
Side note: I love how you have the nerve to judge people's playing ability when it's widely known that you can't PvP, you can't think strategically and you just barely pass for an OK trader.

I understand that "play to win" is an alien concept to you, so please just accept that not all people picture "fun" as being drunk, exchanging porn links and laughing on horrible memes while being obliterated by MoA. These players need some "scoreboard" to measure their performance.

I understand that "play to win" is an alien concept to you, so please just accept that not all people picture "fun" as being drunk, exchanging porn links and laughing on horrible memes while being obliterated by MoA. These players need some "scoreboard" to measure their performance. I understand the concept and have played games competitively, but shooting noobs repeatedly, rarely losing a ship as it's so low risk is "winning" according to your stats, but it's insanely boring because there's no challenge, and it's certainly not winning compare to players who are taking challenging fights and coming out victorious. It's like a prize fighter beating up kids in a playground. Sure, he wins the fight but where's the fun, and do you really think he'll get awarded titles for that? At the same time, losing a fight can be incredibly entertaining. It's all about the context - something you clearly don't understand.
As for scoreboard, you pick the scoreboard that benefits you most at the time, but it doesn't mean anything when it comes to "play to win". I used to play counter-strike competitively. Scoring on your scoreboard but achieving nothing strategic is like the team that score 4 kills to our 0 in a round when we win by rescuing the hostages. Sure, they can point at the scoreboard and go "look at all our kills!" but they still lost.
And no, not all of us do see fun as being drunk, exchanging porn and memes, including many members of the Imperium. You just know so little about your targets (bad intel ftw) that you don't understand this (or actively choose to ignore it).
MOA are another example of this. They pick up stragglers and kills some ratters, but they make absolutely no impact on our coalitions existence or ability to enjoy the game, so you use terms like "obliterated" because you don't actually look at the context or outcome of the fights. You just see that they used cheap ships to whore on bling kills to get their ratio up, and you cherry pick the "scoreboard" and you pat yourself on the back. That's the reason your little schemes have no success, because you don't actually understand why most people play.
At the end of the day, you can grumble and sling bad propaganda around as much as you want, but you're wasting your life on a battle you can never win because you refuse to do what it takes to win. In your own terms, you are a slacker. If you really wanted to destroy the Imperium there are a multitude of ways you could accomplish it (or at the very least get closer to it), but you can't be bothered to put in the effort to do it.
Cue Gevlon explaining to me my loss of opportunity costs while replying to him and how that's all part of his plan.

Very interesting.
So does this mean that if I create a faction warfare alt and fund it by buying plexes, I will get lot's of action and fun?
In a way this is not a surprise. I remember that we usually had 100-200 capsuleer fleet sitting station since FC did not have balls to undock. That was nulsec pvp. |

If it doesn't fit his 'narrative' of defeating the ebil Goonies, he usually ignores it, calls those who correct him filthy casuals, slackers and morons, points on the spreadsheet he's prepared to how wrong you are for adding irrelevant data to his beautiful formula which you just don't get, or calls you a Goon shill trying to protect your 'master' from the 'truth' he's providing. All the while stapling more tinfoil to his head, ranting about how ebil Goons are secretly controlling CCP DEVs, to make the game cater to Goons.
