Yual Minmatar Black Avatar Firmus Ixion	Posted - 2006.12.31 06:42:00 - [1] So I slipped into my brand new Huginn today, and I KNOW that the Bellicose is a fugly peice of garbage, so I was prepared for a decent level of repulsiveness from this new ship.... but for the love of god the nosewings(if you have a better term for them let me know) FLAP. As in... Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down.... As I sat there mesmerized by the ungodly motion(ok we're Minmatar, rebelling against the Amarr, so ungodly things arent out of style), my friend, a Gallente pilot walks up behind me and says "Wow, Wings... Just like a Maxi Pad there huh?" And he couldnt even see the pizza cutter's on the bottom of the ship... So when exactly in Beta did your whole artistic staff get one vollyed by tempests? Tachy	Posted - 2006.12.31 06:59:00 - [6] Hey, they're there to reduce your client's power, or better to keep it busy. I have no idea why someone thinks it is cool to copy Caldari designs and apply them to Minmatar ships. I guess just copying the wings and winglets from the tiny T2 ships is deemed cool, and easy to use. Got no idea about a cool feature? Green blinking lights and flapping wings will do. Actually I kinda like the design of the Bellicose. It just takes a while to get used to it. It carries a bit of the old precision artillery feeling into space. The Phoon got that pure rocket engine look, the old Scythe is a chemical plant gone space, the Burst is a small vacuum cleaner, the Pest basically is a legless battlemech, the Slasher looks like a butterfly and it's as agile and fast... All the ships had a nofuzzlook that tells you directly what they're meant to do. When the T2 stuff was designed, someone just had no cool ideas (in my book at least) left. The current revamp moves the original rugged design paradigm to 'Hey, I got some more Caldari feeling over. Let's apply it to the industrial looking Matari ships. The pilots love the look of the Caldari ships anyway or they'd not build more and more Caldari chars.'. The Maelstrom is more or less just a Caldari ship with artillery strapped onto it plus Silly WingsÖ and the Hurricane could be sold as a Caldari design too without anybody stumbling after stripping off the Silly WingsÖ. --==*-- The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait \| 2006.09.20

Very few of them (Rifter) have the instant omgpretty! effect. The rest you have to start to fly to like. I used to dislike the Bellicose, but I flew it around for a couple of nights and it really isn't that bad. I used to think the Phoon was a flying bucket, well, I still do, but atleast I like it now. ------ In Carebear We Trust

They made not be the most beautifully designed ships, but they work well. Its like the way my father makes tools, they look crude but thet actually do the job that the fancier tools also do. Yeah, i sometimes make jokes about how they patched up with duct type, but it if works well, it works well.

Now the burst is ugly as sin(can't tell which end is forward untill it moves)and lack of a port engine nacelle offends me. The Scythe looks like a turkey vulture, but is appropriate for a mining ship (although a bit short on cpu.)

I will however say that I really like the look of the breacher, especialy its t2 counter part the hound. I also like the Tempest quite abit, I like vertical ships, and it has the look of old sailing ships. As does the rupture, I really like this ship, not only does it look cool but it preforms very very well. And if you look at the back of it, it looks like a classic Gallion the way the back end comes up with and the lights along the back, very classic sailing ship in design. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Central Defiance is always recruiting, check out or movie DEFY

The Cyclone, Typhoon, Rupture (I like it for some reason), Maelstrom, Hurricane and most of all, the shuttle look superb in my opinion. ------------------------------------ It's great being a Dev, isn't it?
