Today and over the next few days we will be focusing testing a lot on Vivox. On sisi today we are going to enable the Vivox server on all accounts (We are not enabling accounts) so if you can post here with your feedback, we would be very greatful.
Please do not spam the thread with crap, it will only result in me giving you a temo ban from sisi.
You can just use your TQ client on sisi tomorrow, we will be changing the server. Once i have any more information i will let you know. We are mainly looking for bugs with the system and we need feedback on what people think of it.

Seems logging in with audio disabled causes the vivox system not to be fully "intergrated"??
Enabling sound then relogging then allows it to work and adds the options needed for configuring to the escape menu which previously, were not there.
Didn't work at all, not even had the "join aduio" options, until we figured that out.
It's pretty cool tho.

Its good to see its now got a ptt function, but having it bound to middle mouse (or having it being the only option) is kinda depressing as I dont actually have a middle mouse button on mine (its a logitech g7). I can bind one of the mouse keys to that function, but its not a great option really.
Not being able to choose an audio output device is rather painfull too. I play without audio (mostly) and even if i did i'd want the voice audio coming out the usb headset and the game audio coming out the default windows device (and i really dont want to have to set my default audio output as the headset for other obvious reasons).
As Kassad said, having audio disabled on startup completely disabled vivox (which originally made me think i'd missed the vivox testing).

tbh we are changing it abit tomorrow, but the changes hopefully will make it better. i will get details and post them asap, but the update to sisi will happen tomorrow about 2pm ish

Recopy your tq folder and it will update, usual trick :P
About vivox:
Seems to be working fine, but is the option in audio for voice level output or input?
Its also a little on the quiet side.
Old problems, that the chat indicator lags and that there is no "no mic" symbol are still around.

well for me nothign seems to work it takes like 15 mins to log on [and im not downloading or anything at all] and when in game i cant do anything or the game freezes [opening market, undocking, etc]but it only is happening on test server.

I've been stuck on the "Entering Station" screen for about an hour, this is the 3rd time it's done this exact thing. I've tried copying the game over agian, installing the patches multipul times but nothing seems to work.
Btw, Fish will rule teh world! |

Vivox and Vista DEP protection do not mix. Period.
Even with DEP off, Eve complete e-x-p-l-o-d-e-s.

how do i join a voicecom?
rightclick on channels give me only close, blink on/off and settings for player created channels
edit: found it. suddenly was there after relogging

Yep, as soon as you try and enter game with a character it locks up completely.

Seems there be more problems on sisi after patch then before. I bet you ppl. notice that too.

It only tried to login to vivox once, and it didn't work. Since then it isn't trying at all.
EVE freezes when I hit ctrl+Q instead of quitting.

It also does not like MS Windows Explorer 7... it locks and I get a CCP blue error..
I uninstalled WE7 and went back to 6... had no problem logging on for that 1 day but the server has been down for the last few days so no way to test this.
But there is a major problem (conflict)if you upgrade your microsoft windows net code. Cement lag..

Vivox tested, works ok.
However the mic boost causes overpowerd mic inputs more then what you get if boost is off.
I Suggest Mic boost to be off as default in the wizard(audio tab).
However without boost sounds input is a little on the low side.
I wrote a short walkthrough. :D
1. Press ESC go to Shortchut find "Talk" right click and edit it, assign a key (ex. alt+caps).
2. Press ESC go to Audio click the "audio wizard" click next, uncheck the mic boost click done.
3. Join a channel. ex. "Vivox Testing", top of the window right click and pick "Join Audio".

This is still being called with every session change even though its counterpart is being left alone. And since Client Requires Windows Vista or Windows XP., W2k users get a luxury of an additional click. We really need additional clicks  I'll admit I haven't looked closely at offenders but ... Terminal Services API? Good to know MS still differentiates OS flavours by few registry settings.
Also results in no chat channels loaded and inability to join new.

How do I get rid of Vivox? I believe its preventing my client from operating on the test server.
My system has an SB Audigy 4 sound card. I suspect that there is some kind of incompatibility or something. I don't know how else to explain it.
As soon as I log in and am able to see my ship--and I can even twirl it a little bit--the client crashes. Everytime. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, everything. I've had it up to my ears.

As a developer I would hate some of the replies here. Saying "it doesn't work" or "EVE explodes", doesn't tell very much about what happened. Most important must be at which point this happens and what you last clicked or did. Then tell if the client crashed, left a crash dump file, or a log entry. Did it freeze your entire system.
Anyhoot, here comes my attempt to report a problem.
When I start the client with and logs into the game, I can get to the character selection screen. However when I click the character and get the entering character in game bar. The game window closes without any kind of warning or error message. It doesn't generate dumps, and it doesn't restart the client as it does when it looses connection.
This all started on the day or the day after that Vivox was enabled. Before that I could regularly connect to the test server.
I've tried copying the working TQ installtion 5-6 times and then upgrading, but still with the same exit to desktop.
So far I think the client versions that has been on were 28505, 28599, 28750 and 28296.
Well 28750 wasn't really tested since it came on at a unscheduled downtime, so I upgraded, but then the server was downgraded almost immediately. This has happened 3 times or so for me. A bit annoying but now I've made a zip of the TQ installation so it is a bit faster to make a copy.
Anyway, I've also noticed on TQ that the client could make strange sounds during severe lag cause by my computer being busy with some file operation. However that strange sounds just like an electrical noise when a mic. is being plugged in. I had wondered about that, but since the Vivox code must be dorment in 28296, I guess that there could be a connection.
