Paltar Evil Bandit Organisation	Posted - 2007.01.05 18:43:00 - [211] BYDI aint the only good pvp'rs in Privateers :) I've not had much to do with the alliance on the whole, just the reds that come with it, and i've been fortunate enough to have some good fights. Seems like alot of frustration towards a good idea, though claiming to live upto mOo's standards is not really valid as its a whole different ballgame. Besides why compare yourself to shadows of the past (as great as they were) when you can build your own legend - but that happens on the battlefield and not on the forum. As a final note - unlucky to all the haulers, props to all the fighters, and @ all the whiners.... I'd assume the reason the "Privateers" don't go trounce you in your 0.0 home reigons is that would kinda invalidate the exersize. When Choosing between two Evils, I prefer to try the one i've never done before.

All my valuable non-0.0 hauling is done by alts, this character hasn't left Jita in a year. They wardec the corp of one of my alts? So what, I have 4 different corps, shortly after the war-dec goes in effect, they'll be attacking an empty husk. Worse comes to worst, all my haulers go back to newb corps and I give them the finger as I fly by. The only thing I see them accomplishing is making everyone take the same kinds of precautions I have always taken. Big whoop.

We are already a menace of sorts, just ask any of the pilots we have destroyed. Point 2. The fun is advancing. This is fact. Point 3. If only ollobrains had left his rabid nostalgia fuelled ramblings to things he has a clue about things would go more smoothly. Perhaps he will follow your advice in the future and let time tell how successful you are rather than writing this sort of tosh in future. As an alliance that has no desire to censor even the most absurd and ludicrous ramblings of your members i doubt it will happen. ollobrains is most certainly a major detraction in your alliance, be interesting to see how long you allow such things to go on. I suspect he is but just the tip of the iceberg as his forum antics will only encourage the wrong element into your alliance. Expect many ollobrains, if only coz they will be alts of more serious minded people just posting to destroy any credibility your alliance maintains. Already the structure of your alliance is being used against you. Privateers was a good idea, I look forward to Privateers Mk2 when the same basic structure is used for empire war but is actually run by people with a clue.

I think that explains our real long term goals better than anything else. If we can make Empire to Alliances what 0.0 is to small corps and carebears, I think we will have achieved everything we hoped and dreamed for. And have a great time while doing it! I think we have the potential to make it happen - the huge response that this thread has generated in such short time is evidence that our presence is already being felt. Behind all the flames I think there is some deep-rooted fear that Ollo's personal views might one day become reality. And even if we crash and burn, I doubt there are any Privateers that could say they didn't enjoy themselves in the process (and caused the Alliances quite a few headaches along the way!) This is truly the most fun I have ever had in Eve.

I barely remember it myself, as I recall it was scorpion, megathron, dominix(?), a destroyer of sorts and a caracal or thorax or something vs deimos, 2 vexors and a rifter (yours truely). And the deimos warped in 100km in the wrong freaking direction (some people just cant folllow directions) so he wasnt even a factor until he mwd'd into range. Either way it was an awesome fight, Even if we all expected to die horrible noobish deaths and somehow didnt But anyway, your post struck me as a "we're ACTUALLY uber 0.0 pvp'ers!" sort of whine, with a hint of the "hey look at us we rock your jock" attitude that has been so prominent from the privateer crowd lately. If it wasn't intended as such, well, this was the wrong thread to post.... er, anything i guess. Really, having admitted never having been to 0.0 or being a good pvp'er, what do you judge your god-like alliance mates by? Their own word that they (or their main) kick ass? You should really try to bring more to the table
