And, it is obvious that your notice in THIS forum was up for a little less than 2 days before hand. However, your notice in the dev blog and on the general news channel (and therefore the community at large) was up for barely half an hour before the extended DT began. In all honesty, I feel that 2 days notice is really too short, but 30 minutes notice to the community at large is just kinda rediculous. Could you PLEASE work with the devs and others who make these decisions a little more closely, and therfore try to give the community a LITTLE more warning about these EDTs in the future? I, and I am sure others, would appreciate it. Thank you for your time. * *

I can admit that for some new character isn't always so simple to put in training a skill lasting 2-3 days, as they can have completed those starting a 4, and they don't have the mass of skill trained to 3-4 that more esperienced characters can have. A longer warning can be useful, so that a player with some RL problem can better prepare for a long jatus.

People saying that not everyone looks in the forums are not really making an excuse. The forum exists for one thing alone and that is information dispersal by CCP. If you don't look here then how do people expect to be informed in the first place? Maybe the Devs should visit people in their homes and tell them face to face? If people were caught by surprise by this they have themselves to blame honestly. This is where CCP tells us about these things and this is where you should keep an eye out for these things. If you don't then you will always be caught by surprise. But don't get angry about that because at least there was notice. A week should be the bare minimum. Hell, some people work one or both days on the weekend and would probably like to plan their days off around a scheduled downtime so they're not sitting at home on a day when Eve is down for 24 hours...but that'd be pretty hard to do if they didn't know about the downtime in advance. (added) When I say 'in advance' I don't mean a day or two. I mean in enough time to plan around it regarding work for those of us who have more...flexible schedules. *A person's still an idiot for not reading the news to see if there's any downtime coming up*. I'm sure there are other great reasons to give more advance notice, too, but I need more coffee so I'll skip them and you can all just insert your own.

I shake my head when i tell people that i know that "EDT" is coming the next day, and there like "really?" How hard is it to take the whole 3 seconds to actualy read the news ticker that ccp put there. So, if you extrapolate that directly to the community that is 50% of the community that "claim" to have known about it in time and 50% that didn't. So, that is 1 out of 2 players that knew nothing about an extended DT in a game where it is critical that you be able to log in when you need it to keep training going. Maybe its just me, but that doesn't sound like such a good job of "keeping the communicty informed". A "50%" on any "test" in the US is a FAILING grade. Maybe Iceland grades on a steep curve.... I dunno. Here's an idea, how about an out of game email? They have our email addresses, so why don't they USE them? Why can't they send us an email to us warning about an upcoming EDT? I guess that would be too much trouble..... Also, to the people that are "claiming" that it was up for OVER a week, how about a link to the post DATED when you are talking about? If I am missing it, fine. I'm wrong. But the only two posts I can find about it are dated barely two days before the EDT and then one about 35 minutes before the EDT. But, unless you guys can show a link, I am going to have to assume you are remembering incorrectly, don't know what you are talking about, or are simply CCP fanbois like Grez. I am sorry that you obviously do not understand how the client works. Check my first link above. What comes up in the "Player's New Center" IS what comes up on your start screen.
