Well, as the topic suggests; I've had a slight problem during a certain slave war recently.. Every few times, I get the opportunity to fight one of the aforementioned slavers, but after the fight, I'm not the guy most concerned about the slavers wreck, even though it may hold personell in need of rescuing.
The problem is, every time, in even the briefest amount of time, during a fight. Some pesty b#stard comes along to take everything out of the wreck, making himself a thief, and thus have a killright on his butt.
Now here's the good part: The capsule that's supposed to fire back ^^
I wish there was a way to convince CCP to make the wreck belong to the killer. NPC'ers won't have a problem with this AFAIK, as they mostly get killed by rats, who don't really concern themselves with killrights.
Thoughts?

Wreck thieves should be flagged to anyone on the KM and the victim's corp. They should also incur a 1 minute jump/dock timer. This is one of the things that breaks me when I'm on either side of a battle. I hate loosing my hard earned loot to nubbins and it pains me almost as much to see my lewt go to someone who doesn't deserve it. Even better I'd like to see NPC corpers locked out of wrecks of ships they didn't kill so at least I could pay for a wardec on the offending thief's corp. ------------ Crow Squad... You have no idea how much of a problem this is.
Nothing like hearing from the war target you just killed that there was a faction booster on his wreck that survived and watching neutrals cruise away. In one case amazingly enough the neutral deined to give it back. But at least give us aggression so we can beat and pummel them. Although as we all know with the 2 deaths rule, most loot never survives a second kill mail. and you'll be blowing up your goodies anyway.

Hmmm.... I need to try this! Seems like a great way to get some 1v1's!
Seriously though, as an alliance that makes it's cash off of ganking haulers in hi-sec (not that there is anything worng with that), I find it somewhat ironic that you all are upset that folks are pirating the loot that you are, well, pirating yourself.

And how would you RP it? When you kill someone, it creates a magic lock which can only be opened by the killers magic touch?

It's not about locking it, it's about flagging it so that if a neutral takes from it the killer will have the right to shoot at him (at this time only the victim who is currently in a pod that have this right). ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Wait, you don't get flagged for taking someones PvP kill loot?
That is kind of silly.

Its not just pirating we're talking about, legit corps in legit wars make a lot of wrecks in high sec at gates where these parasites swarm around and feed. Its one thing to lose a fight and lose your stuff to the guy who earned it fair and square, its real annoying to see these lowlifes descend and cart everything away and its happening all the time. And they're not even taking the risk to go out of Alentene or Jita or Ours to do it.
Every member of the alliances on both sides of a war ought to get rights to go after these insects, the problem would go away very fast.

You do, but the dessicated corpse belongs to the recently-fallen, not the killer. ----------------------------

I was under the impression the killer had rights to the can without being flagged as well.

Any detect irony here? Anytime someone complains about mission loot or ore being stolen, it's "Oh well, sucks to be you", but when it's a PvPer loosing his loot "Oh my god, this must stop!"
So here's the response - The thief got flagged. Go get another ship and kill him. Can't do that because he ran, or the nasties will kill you? "Oh well, sucks to be you"

yeah, I dunno how to word this, but.. complaining about someone stealing something you stole/stealing off someone...
yeah, I dont see the problem, frankly, after all, you can still steal someone's ore/loot...
it just means you have to move faster =P

I've had this problem too, in the aforementioned war. The life of a wreck full of loot outside Brutor treasury, Rens, seems to be about 0.5 seconds

its fun to watch the vultures race each other to the wrecks though. some even scoop up the biomass for you.
extending killrights to those that created the wreck would be nice.

If you want to stop people from taking what you are rightfully trying to steal, take your pvping out to lowsec or 0.0. Once there you won't need to worry about getting CONCORDed.
It doesn't make sense for you to have rights over someone else's property even if you did just kill them. ----- Traditional morality is just a clever way for the weak masses to shackle the strong individual. -- Callicles |
