Some cheap Japanese cheesy Sci-Fi with little plot and bad acting. It would go down a storm in the US though :)
Think Power Rangers, where they end up fighting everyone.
I'm not bored, I'm merely in the Queue. |

From what i know B5 would work, BSG could work, but they lack certain things, they all use mass drivers and missiles.. so... matari/caldari, no beam weapons for teh ammar, or drones for the frenchies.

Babylon5 destroyer-class ships (EVE equivalent would be battleship) use beam weapons (laser) a *lot*, although they're frequently used more like cutting weapons rather than single strike weapons. Ships like the Minbari Sharlin or the Omega Class EA destroyers are good examples. laser projectiles are also used a lot (the Centauri Primus Battle Cruiser being a prime example).
As for drones, again, Babylon 5 does use drones a lot, but they're usually used for maintenance, repair and surveillance. Combats drones aren't see in the series, but there's no reason they couldn't exist. Fighters do play a major role in capital ship combat, although dedicated carriers aren't seen in the series.

It has to be Babylon 5 meets the stock market.
New Gallente BC looks like a Minbari cruiser, new caldari battleship looks like a new ship Earth Alliance would design if they could remove the rotating section, and the new minmatar ships reminds me of a narn heavy cruiser.
They just have slightly different shapes and colors to avoid getting sued for copyright infringement. |

I it depends where and who you are.
I'd say it mostly resembles the corporate world of Aliens that you see very little of. The rokh does look like the sulaco though.
I want one of those ships. So badly.
Anyway yes, I'd say Battle Star Galactica, except the humans (Caldari) are winning.
And our starbuck isn't as hawt.

it would be a show without too much of a static cast. More like each episode is a vignette filled with myriad characters and the overlaying premise of the show would be to demonstrate how everyone is connected. Of course there would have be some sort of regular enesmble cast in order to really connect with the characters, but it would be large, and kind of like 'Heroes' except less direct interaction with the characters. Think of a combination between the movie Syriana (connection everyone has) and the television shows of Heroes (large, ensemble cast), Law and Order (how it cuts from scene to scene, the great bit characters) and then whatever sci fi show you like that's based in space.

He worked at Gizmonic Institute, Just another face in red jump suit. He did a good job cleaning up the place, But his bosses didn't like him & they shot him into space!
We'll send him cheesy movies, The worst we can find...(la! la! la!) He'll have to sit & watch them all, Then we'll monitor his mind...(la! la! la!)
Now keep in mind Joel can't control, When the movies begin & end...(la! la! la!) Because he used those special parts, To make his robot friends --

Occasional flashes of brilliance and glimpses of a grand vision, padded out with tedious rubbish and bad design.

I'd have to agree with what most are saying and say it lands between Babylon 5 and Firefly. Has the 'humans only' and layered society model of Firefly (distinct low sec and high sec areas), while having the community feel of Bab5 with many factions all maneuvering and positioning themselves to out do the others.
G'Kar: "The Centauri have attacked our planet again... isn't this grieving? We want to be left in peace but they won't leave us alone" Londo: "Whining carebears.... this is a PvP galaxy, get used to it!" G'Kar: "This is the suXor, if the council won't help then I'm out of here!!1!eleven!!" Drazi Ambassador: "Can I have your stuff?" Londo: "quit 'cos you can't play then... everyone knows that it sucks to be Centauri. You were so pwned! lol when we insta-popped your new battleship.. T2 lasers 4TW" Brakiri Ambassador: "nerf Minbari!"

Edited by: Sevarus James on 13/01/2007 12:29:03 I would say Babylon5 without the 'last great hope'. So B5 with no diplomatic station. Everyone blows up everyone else with lulls for speeches and lower budget episodes to keep the special effects guys on time for the bigger episodes.

It would probably be its own show, with some hard fighting wise *****ing male hero character, a massive minmatar former slave guy that serves as the warrior type in fight scenes, a single mom and her son, with an adorable pet slaver hound called flibble. Probably all trying to escape the ebil hands of the bob alliance

Oh geez, I just spit my drink all over my monitor! lol!
As for an opinion on the original post? Haven't actually seen Firefly (mea culpa, since I'm generally a huge Joss Whedon fan...) But my first thought was Babylon 5, though combat somehow makes me think of the new BSG (best show evah!)

Not just any single one, it would be a mixup. Babylon 5 has ze missilez and particle beams and lasers, fighters, even "sentry drones" (G.O.D. Orbital Defence Satellite) and so on, nobody seems to use projectiles though.. Which means that we would have to bring in Battlestar Galactica. And everyone know that Adama & Starbuck pwnz all, which naturally means Minmatar > everybody. -------------------

Edited by: Paeniteo on 14/01/2007 02:18:40 From the brief explanation of warzones from Roy Baty in "Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep?", I like to think Blade Runner.
Even though the two universes are not really alike at all technically, I just think they share the same feel of a world that has been reduced to a husk of what it once was, and the every day struggle between a cokerized sense of morality, and crime. That, and since 'Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep?' and 'Blade Runner' are my favourite book and movie, I just get the most depth out of imagining the two worlds are the same.
Technically, i'd have to agree with Babylon 5. But I get nothing from that show so I hate to imagine EVE is similar at all. The plastic heads thing got boring ages ago and for the most part they sit around the table arguing while aragorn goes and gets into a bar fight.
