So, the new grids are going to be great.
I especially like the ability to, say, find dudes doing a C5, drop a cloaky onto grid at 3,000km, and then warp in 3 caps to flood escalate the site on the hapless dinkuses, resulting in tears and lossmails.

How do you position your self 3000km away from your target in good time?

Dropping bms on grid as you warp in I assume. |

As you are landing on grid, while warping to 100km or whatevs, you just stab CTRL-B and the instant it hits ~10k km, you press enter. If you're in a cruiser, you'll land a BM at about 1200-ish.
....you obviously haven't had a lot of practise setting stop bubbles 350 off POSs to catch people.

Obviously... Seems strage to use 3 caps just to escalate when you can't get them all back but what do i know... happy hunting

how is this different to the current warp in at 300 or more? |

It makes tackling site runners with non cloakys harder all round. Cause now you appear on grid sooner.. giving your target more time to warp or hit that MJD.

Sorry what?
Ship moving at 0.0001 AU will still move 15.000.000 M/s the new grids have 7.000.000 Meters, and ship donGÇÖt warp at 0.0001 AU but a lot fasterGǪ so where do people get more time to react from?

For the MJD, I feel like time from entering grid to scram is not long enough for it to sycle, so you could still stop it.
For warping, why not use a hic/dic in the first place?

Your not doing warp speed when appear on grid even though the warp drive is still active. ( thats what the little blip of light and pop noise indicates.. that you have exited warp speed.)
The grid is larger so you now appear on a targets overview sooner.... at 9000 km instead of 400-350km as was the case prepatch.
If it gives the target an extra second or two to react its significant. because the time to when you appear on grid to when you land (and can target) is around 3-4 seconds. A ship slows as it lands ( exact deceleration time depends on ship type) and then you have to lock and scram (another 4-5 seconds). So thats atleast 8-9 seconds to scram from when you appear on grid.
If the grid changes give you an extra landing time of 1 -2 second then it brings the total time to scram to 10 seconds. A MJD will cycle in 9 seconds at max skills. Obviously a target is not going to able to insta press MJD the moment you appear on grid but the extra reaction time the grid changes give him is significant.
So yeah... the grid changes make it harder.. not impossible or even particularly hard but harder.

You also have to factor in warp time, and the great way that you can land on grid and stuff is "invulnerable" to you for up to 5 seconds as EVE drops its coffee on the desk, scrabbles about for a pen and picks up the phone.
Plus the time to decelerate is dependant on ship size. BCs go a lot slower than cruisers or HAC/Recons. They take longer to sludge onto grid. battleships with the new grids, easily 15-25 seconds between hitting overview and being able to lock something.
Caps, you may as well yell in Local "I'm a coming on grid y'all, please sit still so I'll be in range of y'all when I land and hit siege/triage!"
And yeah, warp speed rigs help. But so too do nanos. it's great that your ships have all the spare slots in the world to fit these things and DPS and a tank.
And FYI the difference between a BM @ 3,000 and 300 is precisely that you can drop that BM on grid as you're landing and don't have to waste time burning or bouncing in and out of a site dropping Ctrl-B's like jester's dirty panties
