with the amazing praise and approval the T2 lottery garners, I can see why one might think a lottery to magically advance some people would be a good idea... really. No one would complain, I'm sure.

Well, not really. Not at all. What does a 50 mill SP guy care about a guy who went from 2.5 mill SP to 3 mill SP?
It would be kind of nice, something to strive for.

Well I reckon that as things are currently, its an even playing field for everyone.
I can understand impatience, but I think there is a real sense of achievement in spending the time to get there.
I don't think short-cutting the process is valid, and I don't think the OP would be happy if CCP said - "Ok - if you have 36 million sps, you have demonstrated commitment to the game - all training after 36 million will be twice as fast".

Edited by: Cipher7 on 15/01/2007 06:59:31 Why accelerate?
Skillpoints aren't that important.
How long does Engineering 4 take, 1 day?
Use evemon and que skills from shortest training time.
Follow the que and never think about skills. You will have a very functional character in a matter of weeks.
Its sad that ppl feel the need to have level 5. The only time you should have level 5 is to unlock another skill.

More timesink skills players need to learn in the beginning ? Nice for new players, who don't want to play the first months, just pay the account and wait, until that skill-grind in learning is done I suppose.
The imperative surrounding Learning skills is an artificial social construct that makes little sense to anyone with a brain that functions within normal parameters. I want the skill because I would train it, not because you tell newbies to waste their time training it first.

Sp means nothing.

I think 800k sps to start with is enough. Shoot I started with a 90k and you don't see me complaining about the lack of training time. Last thing we need are nubs running around with 50m sps because they have the time to play eve 23/7
