Ok so to start here im posting this on behalf of Htrag, my goood mate and CEO of our corp. (he couldnt be arsed to do it :P)
Right then so a war target undocked in a Revelation in our little pirate patrolled system. Must have been his maiden voyage in his new gargantuan toy. He wanted to take a look at the planets it seemed, all under the watchful eye of pirates no less. This was to be the biggest singular mistake I believe i've ever heard about since playing this game.
A small group of pirates, some from our corp and some of our trusted allies hounded the Revelation. Scanners were being spammed as this Dread wandered off into the depths of space. eventually the dread was spotted as at a distant planet by the far reaches of our home system. First a brutix warpes in, It was right there!! almost with in disrupt range. The slow brutix sluggishly approaced the rev and managed to get a point on the beast! the other few ships consisting of a couple BS and frig waited anxiously. The dread just sat there. Sod it! thought the small fleet and the remaining four ships warped in. They started pounding the dread. After some time had passed they got the dread down to half armor. Then another unidentified ship warped in at around 120km and dropped a cyno, he was trying to pull in support! Our corp fellow Darth Jahib met this challenge with a nasty blow to the plans of the dread pilots counter attack. At this point the pilot tries the logoffski. The ship remained in the clutches of the gang. They took it down to 60% structure then the bugger warps off, not a trace to be seen!
Htrag, playing his other character Lyshah sat at the log off spot cloaked and waited and waited... then waited some more. Eight hours passed (or there abouts)! then 2 minutes before the DT the dread pilot logs on. Lyshah flying the Myrmidon uncloaked and locked down yet again the dread. Now this is the good part, in less than two minutes he got through the structure alone then POP went the Dread.
Killmail reads Myrmidon slays the Revelation...
Im really upset I missed all the action. But hey, these are the events that happened and im very happy to be posting this. It is a very good kill for our corp and it was a war target also. Score one for the privateers!
Here are the screenshots of the three stages of the battle.
Step one the first engagement
Step two Lyshah catches the log back in
Notice the time that he logs in with 60% structure and the time of death
Step three Lyshah finished the beast
Securing the wreak in my punisher :)

Big golfclap to the myrm if he waited eight hours for a log-on. That takes determination
Nicely done ---

Holy crap, that guy MUST have not had anything for a tank. A Revelation on it's own with a decent armor tank could yawn sitting there being pounded on for a LONG time. Now a SMART dread pilot would have had a siege mod setup with atleast one cycle of Stront so that it could easily tank anything you throw at it, also since you can't warp scram it in this time he'd have a cyno waiting right after his 10 minutes were up and then he would be gone. Wow.. more and more people are getting into dreads that really shouldn't be. Bet you money this guy didn't even have the money for the insurance.
Just an example of what a Revelation can tank with T2 gear: I had 40+ fighters pounding on me and about 10+ ships on me also in a POS siege and I was in siege mode, it was a bit rough, but I survived, but it was close. If I didn't have a support fleet clearing all the Fighters off of me, I would of had a problem. --- Place Sig here (Help a man with no Sig, Eve-Mail me if you can make me one.) |
