A lot of people still think the thanatos has a 10% drone damage per level, which is false.
I prefer a Chimera: More frontline friendly, and it's small size is an advantage, if a small one...

Dreads are only imune in seige mode..
I would go for a phoenix. + a rapier in gang
(l33t gatecamp of death ftw! ^.^v)
ad its tank can be rather beautiful

Rat in Dread ?
Pls ask Nyphur what happened to his when he started mining in his Moros.
Dreads are strictly anti-pos and some of them do sometimes decently against BS's but only when these are stationary and have the sig of a small moon.
Otherwise it's one big worthless toy with a nice cargo hold capacity.
I am aiming for an Archon myself.

btw don't get the idea that carriers are usefull in anything more then a small number of situations involving POS and large fleets or home defense

one guy was ratting with caldari carrier yesterday, he also ran mining at same time
is there guide somewhere stat wise for making carrier pilot

No dreads or carriers are allowed to be built outside of lowsec, those you saw are still around from before that rule got in. No new carriers/dreads can be built or can jump in there and those still in highsec can not jump back once they decide to leave.

If your topic means which to pick, a carrier or a dread, then I'd say generally carrier. They are generally useful in more situations then a dread, fighters/drones hit non-cap ships harder then dreads in most situations, better hauling capacity, etc etc.

I'd go for the dreadnaught. Why? Because if you're a carrier pilot, your corp mates seem to always expect you to be in that damned carrier, sitting at a POS or somewhere suitably safe and assigning them fighters while they have all the fun. It's a role best left to alts, in my opinion.

Have to agree with that. Carrier pilots get no love, except to sit and *listen* to action. They do, however, get the bulk of all of the kill mails due to fighters.

Mine actually prefer me leeroying in BSs 
Anyway, if I had my choice between any carrier and dreadnought without actually needing to train anything it's be the phoenix. Phoenix has the most intimidating look (IMHO) is effective both in fleet and POS sieges.

fleet? have you seen the speed of a citadel torp? hell if you're in a plated dominix and a phoenix shoots at you and you're not tackled you can warp before the torps hit you from still

Deads do one thing: Kill POSs.
Carriers do tons of thing. Hauling, killing and assigning fighters come to mind.

Thanatos - damage bonus, plus best looking by far. The Archon's tank would be sweet too though.
Kinda split between Revelation and Moros, Rev's tank is far better, plus no ammo use, but Moros' drones are sweet. I'd probably go with Moros as I've only gotta train Gallente Dread for that/ :)
